  1. Got a couple return pay it forwards I am overdue posting due to my work schedule. Here is #1. These are pieces of a 2 different leather shoulder holder systems. Lighter one came out of bag and is an adjustable tie down. Darker is a cuff holder and has a belt loop, so could be used alone too. I figure soneone probably has one or both of these sets and might need refresher parts.
  2. I would take the .32 S&W Long brass if you dont mind.
  3. Never clean a coin until an expert telks you to. Some collectors of rsslly old coins want the patina on it. Google search found this https://cointrackers.com/coins/379/1893-s-morgan-silver-dollar/
  4. Anyone use sand? We use it in a lot of reptile cages, but not sure if the chickens would just scratch it all out. With it, you could almost just sift and wash it in a wheel barrel, let it dry and add it back,. Obviously you would need a coop with flooring.
  5. Dont know why tgey still sell cedar shavings. I have heardto never used tgem for rabbits or pet rodents either. Not sure what tgey work for.
  6. I have seen some wood AR furniture. Was thinking the other day that it would be cool to have a deep blued one with nice walnut just for kicks and a throwback to those guns we drooled over growing up. Or maybe something like this
  7. From the ridges it it, I would guess a Quick Release mount point fpr use with the sling swivel like in this pic.
  8. UT. She states that she wants to be as far away from home as she can and since we are basically forcing her to do in-state because of cost, that is it. We are not going to pay for her to go to some out of state to get the same level of education but cost twice as much,. We are going to drive over if she is still insistent and let her drive the entire way there and back. I am hoping that that will press the point that if she needs anything or has to come home that it is a LONG drive. Going that far is not going to change the bad choices she made over the last few years either.
  9. Why I am desperately trying to find a way to keep my daughter from going to college in Memphis.
  10. You think chicken sh!t everywhere.... Peacocks are a whole different nasty level if memory serves from my Granddad's. Like Turkeys on Ex-lax. lol
  11. Kind of an aside, but part of the reason people end up getting rid of their chickens, aside from the work, is that you can only eat so may eggs. In the past, bartering in town or with your neighbor gave you an outlet for the eggs with a return. Now Kroger does not take eggs in payment. Additionally, like a lot of farm animals, chickens are less work and a more productive per head when you have a large flock. There are possibly additional feed costs if there is not enough free range, but having 36 over 6 is very little extra work. Plus if you have a large flock it is safer to free range them. You will lose a few, but if you have 50 and lose one here and there, that is an acceptable loss ratio. If you can stand the noise, adding some ducks or geese will help with predator control. Geese especially are not just going to lie down and get eaten like some chickens. I grew up with chickens at pretty much every house I knew. My one grandfather roosted them in a shed he closed at night, but they free ranged all day. The other just free ranged and left them to roost in the trees or barn. His worst issue was skunks getting in the nest and eating the eggs. I have talked about getting chickens, but we do not have room to free range a decent flock. Plus it is a stand off with the wife. She wants cute pet farm animals to name and cuddle like dwarf goats. I tell her if we get into livestock that I am getting chickens. That keeps her from getting pet goats, but keeps me from getting chickens so I don't have to feed goats. Oh and keeps her from letting my son have a miniature horse. That is all I need. lol
  12. Yeah I noticed that. I just thought it really odd that they ever did that though
  13. I have run into this with other places too and on some of them I have found that they release stock when they send out the flier, but I may receive the emailed flier several hours after other people I know. Sending out thousands of emails take time and often they have to do it in batches to keep from some server along the way flagging them as a bot flooding it with email. So if you happen to be in the first section of the emails going out, you have better luck. No way to force that though. I agree they probably just say in the flier to check their site for what ammo is in stock, but remember this is the site that in the past would not ship ammo to TN even though they are in Chattanooga TN. I had to have a shipment sent to a friend in VA back when the .22 drought was on.
  14. *polite cough* I have some for sale in the Gear classifieds......
  15. I know that FFLs generally get stock in guns and ammo based on allotment tied to how much they bought in the past. Some of these small stores are getting nothing because the larger ones get a chance at everything first.
  16. @WindHawk Feedstock....Sounds like ypu work with Polymers... The only issue in someone filling the gap is dealing with the hazmat hurdles for manufacturing, storing, and shipping. That makes it different than other Widget manufacturing. Similarly, I looked at opening a indoor gun range several years back because the only good one went out here. All the regulations related to lead dust and insurance in case of an accident pretty much told me why no one had opened another. Takes a lot of effort and money to get through that. @Dirtshooter Some of the boxes falling off the back of the delivery truck is a pretty well known thing in times like this. Doesn't matter the product. Heck, I probably would be shocked at how many people in the shipping chain "lose" a package long before it makes it to its destination city because it is marked so they know what it is. One big thing is that the primer makers in the US are few and also make ammo. So they are pulling primers to build their ammo first. Makes sense. More people buy ammo than reloading supplies. Plus I am sure they have contract agreements to fulfill. None of this is heped by the flippers or the fact that many people are getting into shooting now. Plus, like me, many people have taken the final push to start reloading after putting it off due to setup cost and/or time constraints.
  17. Source of this info?
  18. Well the simple fact that they had a reloading shop going at one point is a point of frustration for me. There should be enough brass and lead lying around (even if they have to resort to battery lead from all the cars) to keep them in bullets for a while. Standardize on a caliber that can use black powder and make it from scratch. Even everyone with only a revolver is better than nothing. I mean Eugene can make cyanide capsules from peach pits, but can't make primers or BP? If loading cases are too hard, at least make some smoke poles. Darrel running around with a 6 shot BP revolver would sit well with fans. Plus which is harder, making arrows from scratch or loading bullets??? Plus, with a sniper rifle, as the show projected his rifle to be (looked more like and AR to me with the quick glance, but internet says it is a Tikka T3x Tac A1), you don't need thousands of rounds. 50 rounds could make a big difference. I too long ago had to abandon real survival mentality when applied to the show. It just ruins the show, but dang it it is hard. Just like when long ago they got the blacksmith going and he was casting trident heads for spears? Why the hell a trident taking much more metal and not a single point. Also why cast it? Just find some plate steel and have some less skilled people hacksaw out and sharpen points. With all the cars lying around metal is not in short supply. Maybe it would be easier for the blacksmith to punch the holes in the points than drilling them, but leave him to more complicated tasks. Heck it it was me, I would just find one of the decorative fences that have spear looking vertical poles and cut them apart. Instant spears until you can find some time to make better. The fence leads to another comment. I see that they are struggling to keep people fed a lot of time, but every search team you send out should be bringing things like hardware (hinges, screws, nails), tools, solar panels, batteries, and weapons. It is not like nuclear bomb destroyed it all. Deconstructing existing structures would provide plenty of materials. Even if people cleaned out all the Home Depot and Lowes, that stuff went somewhere that it is still probably sitting. Just like all the military and police armories. You can't tell me with the sudden drop in living population that EVERY ONE of those was cleared out even 10 years after. If you could do so safely, that world is a scrounger's paradise. You might just have to think outside the box. Oh well I could go on and on. lol
  19. Academy here actually had some I guess it was the first of last week even when I went at night. I got 2 boxes of 7.62x39. No bulk boxes left.
  20. I did. I was surprised a bit that it was good. Of course it takes about 1 episode for them to introduce a new enemy after the Whisperers. You catch what they failed to pick up after dealing with the sniper?
  21. @KahrMan You got to hold it like this Nice looking gun @Snaveba
  22. I still want to build one in that zombie green that was everywhere for a while. I would settle for one in this color though.
  23. Dad had a blue wagon one that was supposed to be my first car, but we never got it fixed up.
  24. I think I might go with one of these Campo Giro - 9mm largo pistol made 1912 until 1919 in Spain Beholla pistol - 7.65x17mm (.32 ACP) made by Becker & Hollander in Germany from 1915 to 1918 The Deer Gun - successor to the Liberator pistol in 9mm made for the CIA in 1964
