  1. Yeah, I have been down that hole. Nothing seems to match their work. Suppossedly they marked all the rechambered ones on the barrel too. I will get back to it soon. I set it aside due to other projects for now. Worst it becomes parts for my other Mosin Nagants. Luckily the heavily sporterized 1903A3 I bought last is functional. Butter knife bolt handle and sorta blocky stock. Gonna get a scope on the added bases soon. I might have a thing for milsurps and ugly unloved guns... It is an expensive combo sometimes.
  2. My first deer rifle was a sporterized Enfield that my Papaw gave me. Dad had a scope mounted on it. I bought a rechambered Remington Mosin Nagant a while back. Still gotta get time to cerrosafe the chamber. Does not seem to be 30.06, but we will see. The barrel was cut back so that nothing but Remington shows on the top rear.
  3. I heard Bigfoot and his kin are opening up a big ammo factory in Wisconsin. They will only be making 30-30 and .45 ACP since it matches the largest number of the guns they took off all those hunters and campers they have killed over the years. They do plan to retail some under the Sasquatch Munitions brand though.
  4. Welcome. Second section down. You must be a benefactor
  5. I have worked in retail before and some places consider retail to be retail. If you can sell jeans at Old Navy, you can sell guns too, right? Plus I find less and less staff of any retail to be knowledgeable about their stock. Some are good enough to look it up for you, but many won't even go that far. My brother-in-law has a auto mechanics degree and used to work at Wal-mart while in school for his welding degree. In their infinite wisdom they assigned him to ...... toys.
  6. Sounds like they also needed medics on standby. lmao
  7. Yep this was years ago. Never saw him besides that. My wife used to hang out at one of the places he played a bunch back while we were in college.
  8. A friend who used to live in Knoxville had kegs on tap and Tall Paul performing at his reception...
  9. Nope just backordered. I got the box of .38 a while back and they even just put the 9mm in a ziplock bag instead of a retail box when it came. Had some note about it allowing them to get it out faster, but I think it had to do with preventing people from reselling it since the bag is not marked with specs or a model #. I had to write it on it in sharpie. lol Now if I could just get time to actually set everything up and start loading.
  10. I just finally got the Hornady bullets they owed me for the rebate for buying a press and dies in December 2020 last Friday. lol
  11. But entirely less fun...
  12. Not that I am an expert, or have all the answers, but I do have a lot of info put here: http://leveledsurvival.com/a-homepage-section/ I think I have a bit of a different approach than a lot of sites. If you want to prep for the Zombie Undead Apocalypse, then you can, but most people plan for much smaller levels of disaster. We are much more likely to be caught in a blizzard, flood, earthquake, or tornado than a full on societal collapse. Those scenarios are a good place to start and can be built upon to plan for larger events. When you just get started prepping, it all can seem so overwhelming. Just remember, no one built a stash of 5 years of food and water, a full armory, and a level 1 trauma center all neatly placed in an underground bunker in a month (or ever in most cases LOL). Make smaller goals. Maybe start by identifying foods you can store cheaply and easily that your family will eat. It doesn't have to be beans and rice or all Mountain House freeze dried foods either. Buying extra boxes of pasta and jars of spaghetti sauce is a perfectly cheap and easy way to get started. Then a few cases of store brand bottled water give you a bit of a cushion if the water goes off a few days. Just don't get marred down in trying to survive for 30 years from day one. There is WAY too much to take into account. Things have caused me to not post on the blog in a bit, but I am catching up and plan to pick back up. Hunting is going to be an odder one to plan for. Have you ever hunted before? Do you already have "hunting" guns? What are we talking about hunting? Deer, rabbit, or dove hunting are very different things.
  13. @TripleGGG You know you can never have just one of each.. or even 2 for that matter.. lol
  14. In case anyone shoots .30 RAR (Remington AR) and has parts. This would be a deal https://www.cdnnsports.com/remington-r30-upper-lower-furniture-kit-realtree.html Read carefully...
  15. What do you mean, it is still just a 6 shot..
  16. I might have published a thought or two on it. http://leveledsurvival.com/building-a-bag/
  17. Sounds like dealing with my Dad. I love him, but years of working as a machinist for razor blade machines ,means his tolerances are VERY small. A hair is like 4 thousands... he wants to have stuff to the thousandth. I hate to deal below 1/8s of an inch. lol
  18. Had a coworker once that said he would go by the bank and get a stack of $2 bills on the way to the strip club. In the dim light they looked like $20 bills if he folded them up. Said it got him lots of attention. lol Never tried it myself, but I don't fancy paying to play Russian Roulette where the winner catches a STD.
  19. First, they add tax to the sales price. Second they added some new fees recently ON TOP OF the existing fees. I have some acessories on there, but no guns. Right now your best bet might be to list them somewhere on a forum or local tp see what bites you get.
  20. Curious why the .450 is not allowed?
