  1. Another budget 1911 option https://www.smga.com/chiappa/1911-field-pistol-45acp-5-13683??wk
  2. Saw that Vegas was 100 yesterday and will be 110 Thursday. At least I hope we do not hit that.
  3. One big point not fully mentioned is now instead of a few hundred dollars, I am guessing the owner will see several thousand in return for the gun.
  4. Older story, but I had never seen it. https://www.guns.com/news/2012/12/08/hardford-ct-officer-cavanna-rescues-stg-44-from-gun-buyback?avad=202199_b2916b979&utm_source=AvantLink&utm_campaign=161799&utm_medium=ale_NA "Hartford, CT officer John Cavanna made himself a hero of the gun world last weekend, as he rescued a piece of history from a gun buyback program shredder, by refusing to accept an StG 44 brought in by the daughter of a World War II artilleryman. The StG 44 is an early assault rifle, the first to see major military adoption, and the reason why every current military in the world issues assault rifles to this day. It changed the way war was fought, and changed the world of small arms. It represents a turning point in history, and continues to make it, in small ways like this. “Usually, this rifle would be issued to SS troops,” said Cavanna. “In excellent condition, this gun is rated at $30,000 to $40,000.” The StG 44 was a war trophy belonging to the woman’s father. “You could kill a solider back then, and if the captain of your fighting unit signed off on it, you could send that gun home to your family or kid brother or cousin. Anything you wanted. Her father, who was a World War II army man, had brought this gun home from the European theater,” Cavanna said. Cavanna is not just a peace officer but also a gun historian, and we thank him from rescuing this artifact and elevating himself above the buyback fray. The owner will be allowed to keep the rifle and sell it to a museum. “The chance to see a piece of history—this…is absolutely unbelievable,” said Officer Lewis Crabtree of the Hartford Police Dept. “This is a gun that should actually be in a museum rather than in a shredder.” Gun buybacks are already hugely controversial. At best they disarm the poor, at worst they are used to destroy evidence and artifacts like these. For every gun buyback that’s exploited as a children’s fundraiser, there are dozens that raise all sorts of red flags like this recent buyback in Massachusetts that exchanged guns for flu shots. But it’s nice to see that there are sometimes silver linings to these largely ineffective and counter-productive programs. And we hope that other officers follow his lead. We’ve all heard stories of amazing, often singular firearms going to the big armory in the sky because they were found by people who didn’t know better and they turned them into gun buyback programs. The world needs more John Cavannas. Keep up the good work, and as gun lovers, we’re all in your debt."
  5. Oh, I meant that too. Not engraved, just noted on the paperwork.
  6. Yeah.. it is "for the children"... More like For all the DC control freaks I like the"buyback" for magazines. If this got to law, my PMags would be worth gold. I am not trading them for a $25 Wal-mart gift card.... And pulling this 4th grade kid into this to relive the tragedy again is truly despicable and a attempt to force the issue with emotion and not reason.
  7. Wonder if they custom mark the ones Hickok45 used?
  8. If it has good bones and I can get a good price then that is all that matters to me. I might have some experience at it too. Ranges sell off for lots of reasons. Sometimes use, sometimes just to swap up to newer models they also carry for sale, or maybe they have a stack of X and Y rents better. They might also just be lessening the load money sitting in their books.
  9. Let's not start listing guns Fujimo has that we want... I don't have that much equity in my house...
  10. Chalk it up to helping a buddy and just bang away with the 10rd mag. Putting more cash into a mag is probably just digging a hole deeper. The 25rd mags were probably made in short supply due to the ban a few months later. There are 10rd ones out there if you have to have another mag. From reading the plastic mags were blamed for lots of the issues though. https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/197120
  11. Total example. My speed are the $399 full guns that have popped up with free shipping lately...
  12. Buy a lower for $10, get a discounted build kit for $600. Free Assembly.
  13. We have green and hot peppers, squash, and tomatoes all with crop on it. Had to dust the cabbage, it was getting eaten up. Cucumbers are blooming. One lone sunflower up. Second one got broken in all the storms. Need to plant more, but already done a second plant. Must have gotten old seeds. The potatoes I stuck in the edge of the woods are growing good above ground. We will see if they make anything. 1 plant is a volunteer from stuff I stuck out there last season. If I get nothing, I have 5 minutes work involved. As always, too little room in the raised beds.
  14. For the first time ever, we have one coming to our feeder.
  15. Just make sure these guys don't find out about the all powerful .22LR round..
  16. I call for Hershey, McDonalds, and Ford to do a health and human rights impact study. I mean each of their products kill more people than guns every year.
  17. Can we just have "responsible gun zones"? It is also 3 dead really, not 4. They should not count the shooter to inflate numbers.
  18. New day.. same politicians just making sh*t up
  19. What metal are they? You could always just fill up a steel food can 1/2 way and crush closed. Sell with your steel. I used to do the same with computer screws. I had buckets of them. Same with aluminum foil. Fill a coke can and crush it.
  20. Even worse than that I read some of it to mean if you have access to instructions (internet, Youtube) it is the same way. They would not even have to prove you accessed them, just that you COULD.
  21. Here are the links the Gunbroker referenced. The first is where I pulled the screenshots from. I attached the "Training Aid" pdf https://www.atf.gov/firearms/docs/guide/training-aid-final-rule-2021r-05f-definition-frame-or-receiver-and/download https://www.atf.gov/rules-and-regulations/definition-frame-or-receiver https://www.atf.gov/firearms/docs/guide/overview-final-rule-2021r-05f-definition-“frame-or-receiver”-and-identification/download training_aid_for_final_rule_-_2021r-05f_definition_of_frame_or_receiver_identification_of_firearms.pdf
  22. So Gunbroker posted this https://support.gunbroker.com/hc/en-us/articles/5512025769627 In the links it clearly says a 80% kit with a jig is to be treated as a firearm. It does go on to say
  23. Man I hoped to take the "7.62x54R 440 spam can $0.round." Bummer...
  24. Yeah we really want all gun manufacturing controlled by foreign entities..... Though it may cone to something like that just to keep them out of courts. Though they are always gonna be pulled into cases because they have deeper pockets than the shooter.
