  1. Guys and Gals, Just as a conversation starter, lets say you are preparing for whatever apocalypse you think might happen. You decide that the best bet is to stock up rifles that you can arm the people you form a group with. ( I know giving guns to strangers, bad idea, just go along with it) Budgets are really tight, but you want the best bang for your buck (pun intended). Let's take ARs off the table too. Even cheap ones are above the price range I am thinking of. And you do not already have a closet of assorted rifles to hand out. It needs to be low cost, preferably not single shot, readily available in quantity, and reliable. I am thinking center-fire only too. 22s are nice, but not much of a battle rifle. So what rifle would you stock up on?
  2. You lucky b@stards.
  3. Yeah, I wonder if they will find out that these guys really knew each other. It seems weird that the guy shot himself after shooting the other guy. Seems like he might have just run if he had a "Oh crap what have I done?" moment.
  4. I have had this about a year and not swapped batteries. They make a USB rechargeable version too.
  5. I carry a Streamlight Stylus Pro that I really like. $20 on Amazon. It claims 90 lumens, but I would swear it is more. I carry it as edc, and never know it is there.
  6. Sure But are you angling for me to recognize you as a leprechaun? lol Sorry too easy. Nice to meet you.
  7. I had them the first few years we owned our house. They replaced the water heater, dishwasher, and indoor HVAC blower without much issue. Took me several years to get the outside HVAC unit replaced even though it had to have gas added EVERY year when it got warm. Then they do not cover haul away of the old unit or a new concrete base if you need it. Used to be $35 per service call back then. I agree with Love-hate for them. They do not cover anything like faucet leaks or roof leaks. We dropped them when we finally got the outside unit replaced.
  8. Or work for a company that gives paper bonus checks. Cash them and there is no trail. lol
  9. Same mentality here. Easier for me to keep the ones I have had a while though. They are family guns. I just keep adding whenever I can. Hard enough to get them, I am not letting them go. lol
  10. And that prevents you from setting snares or foothold traps to get them.
  11. Nice!
  12. Well the CEO is a last ditch effort. She can escalate you to HER direct supervisor. If you don't want to do more calls, do the letter I mentioned and Facebook if you do it. I did do a quick web search for stores that have that gun in stock. I did not see it at any of the big name places I looked. Kinda odd. maybe they are having more than just issues with this stock. As in supply chain and manufacturing issues. If it goes on, I would just press them to buy the gun back from you at purchase price. Not the best outcome, but gets you out from under this with no monetary loss.
  13. Did you get past Tammy to a supervisor?
  14. Saw this pop up on the news too. Those kids are going under the jail.
  15. My dad had one show up in his front yard the other day. He grabbed the first gun he had handy. His 36" barrel full choke 12ga with turkey loads. Thing never stood a chance. I doubt a single pellet missed it.
  16. All this makes my 8 boxes of 30-30 seem tame.

    I'm alive.

Yeah if you think things are busy now, wait until that little one comes home. Nice to meet you.
  18. Nice to meet you Karnage.
  19. I totally know what you mean. I was not asking for a list of addresses or a meet this week. Being careful anymore can be a requirement of staying alive with all the crazy stuff going on.
  20. Hey again. Thanks for the good word on him. Joining here I kind of hoped to find a like minded group of people close to me. I worked with a couple shooting buddies until a while back, but they moved to other jobs away from here.
  21. Yeah, nice to see you again. I have chatted with a couple people, but I saw the Knoxville thread and thought I might just see if I could meet some more.
  22. It is amazing how much slop in specs some places let their parts go out with.
  23. Still new here and just wanting to see who all is around my area. I am in the Tricities close to Johnson City. I have met a couple, but there have to be more of us. Thanks
  24. Always best to hold your fire if you question the outcome. lol
