  1. I have just toyed with the idea. I am thinking if I get some, I might start with something like a .410 insert for 12ga. Not as much of a stretch there. I am just constantly knocking around ideas. I just need to finally get me that Savage 24 combo gun in 30-30 over 12ga. Just can"t find one at the same time my wallet is not already crying. Lol
  2. Those would be safer, but harder to carry to swap as needed. I also probably do not want to know the pricing. Lol
  3. The rifle adapters are supposed to be for training and reduced noise. The shotgun are usually marketed as a SHTF solution to scavenging ammo.
  4. Nice to meet you.
  5. Nice! Will be one happy guy.
  6. This is an example of a 12ga to 9mm The next is a .303 to .32 They are not full length in either case. I think the 12ga would have the most chance of damaging the barrel.
  7. I just try to live by The Boy Scout moto to always be prepared. These would just provide an extra option. I keep enough ammo around for what I have that I am not running out any time soon no matter what. I just figure in bad times, I would like whatever leg up I could get. Really if things did fall apart, the guy that would do best would be the one with the warehouse full of food, guns and toilet paper. Tp would be like gold after a little while. Lol
  8. Has anyone tried any of these? I am talking about the inserts that let's you shoot 9mm, .45, .410 and such in a 12ga. I know they make that X whatever shotgun that comes with them. I even saw one for a .303 british rifle to shoot .32. While I rarely run low on ammo. Might be a nice back up plan if things went south. Something to be said for being able to use almost any caliber picked up. Even though acuracy has to be bad.
  9. I live on a dead end street of a 1/2 dozen houses with large subdivisions on either side. I have about 2 acres and a farmer has a 1/8th mile wide strip of woods behind me. I get all kinds of critters. Lately I have seen several deer. A while back, I watched a red fox lounge and play in my back yard for over an hour. Hopefully he stays around to eat all the gophers and moles. Lol Luckily I have not seen any coyotes yet. Just a matter of time though. A bunch of close houses have outside cats or let their little dogs out unsupervised.
  10. Problem is that you couldn't actually trap for these guys in this type of an area. Snares or leg holds would get more dogs and cats than coyotes. Animal control is just going to relocate them. I figure lining a nice winter coat with them would be a better idea.
  11. They love 'em some house cats and trash, so you will only see more of them if you see one now.
  12. I still always laugh thinking about the days I spend sitting on the cold ground waiting for a deer to happen by. Nothing to do but try to stay still but warm and scan around for movement and sound. Now we can sit and play on our smartphones while we kill that same time using everything but live satellite to improve our chances. Hope you get a big one today that is just short of moose size.
  13. Nice knife! Wish I had friends like that. Lol So you belt carry something that size every day?
  14. Yeah I have never understand how people just lose gun parts. Do you do gunsmithing on your couch or something and the cushions eat them??
  15. Exactly why I try not to trade, buy, or sell with friends and family..... There is always some type of drama.
  16. Thanks. I usually figure things out and make it all work, but I kind of don't want to pull that trigger on a live round the first time and something terminal happen. I will look around for a good deal. I do know I need a barrel wrench. I have a 7.5 inch barrel that has to come off the partial upper I got before it even comes close to my lower parts. And I don't even have a dog to worry about getting shot.lol
  17. Nice to meet you.
  18. Oh, so I am guessing some people place the unit in a bag when putting those in so if they fly, they don't go anywhere. I had seen several people mention to be careful, but nothing about a bag. I can understand, I still have a Dell laptop screw missing because it fell on my office's multicolored carpet. lol
  19. Plastic bag? That one zoomed WAY over my head. Care to educate me in either AR tools or comedy?
  20. Wow. I would have figured the copper would bend under that weight. I think you should christen it the "Battle Cigar Carrier" (BCC) The tag line could be something like "Always have one around to smoke after you win that tough battle" lol Then you could do whatever military symbol the buyer wanted on the flap below the stud hole. Maybe even add a belt loop on the back if they wanted. These are the kinds of things that bounce around in my brain.
  21. I am looking at putting together and AR. I know I am like the last person in the world to decide to do that. I really did not mean to, I just ended up with enough parts that I said " What the Heck might as well get the last couple and be done with it." I have read a lot on line and I see a wide range of "must have" tools that vary from article to article. Since I am not going to be assembling 50, but may want to do more in the future, what do you guys suggest as a basic set of tools? Thanks
  22. Interested how you made the cigar holder crush proof? Is that copper pipe? Both nice looking jobs.
  23. Cool history. To me it is sad that he was tried for that. Back then doing stuff like that was not thought of as illegal. How much innovation in a lot of gun areas are we not seeing because someone is scared to death that they will get arrested for working on it? Innovation has always come best from the free minds that work outside the corporate box. Corporations are driven by their marketing departments and sales, not R&D
  24. I would say that is skirting the line of breaking the law..... and maybe your wrist if it is full auto. Plus that is one ugly fore grip. Never liked the finger grooves in those.
  25. In their next story they will announce a .45 Full auto in 9mm lol
