.22 Short in the wild in East TN?
Ronald_55 replied to Ronald_55's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Yeah, I got used to doing that when LR was so short. Most of ours have started putting it on the shelf again though. I will find some, it is just taking longer than I would like. So many people are still hot to find LR that I am not sure anyone is ordering short, maybe not even making it. -
.22 Short in the wild in East TN?
Ronald_55 replied to Ronald_55's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Thank. I am keeping a watch at the local Wal-marts. Unfortunately, Outpost is a good drive for me (4 1/2 hours) so I do not see getting to drop by there any time soon. I will see about their website. -
Not to revive too old of a thread, but I just got to hold one of these a co-worker bought. It felt nice and had some good furniture on it, but I can't say it was better that the $400 PSA. Maybe if I shot both, I would think differently. anyone shot one? He had added a bipod and a Scorpion Scope which together cost over 50% what the rifle did. Maybe I an a cheapo, but I have trouble doing that for the plinking I do.

Teachers denied 2nd amendment in TN
Ronald_55 replied to serbu50's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I used to work around schools a bunch. Guns on public school grounds has been frowned upon if not all out illegal for a long time. I think it was done to allow stiffer punishment for those committing crimes on the property. It does though leave a gaping hole in the option for armed individuals to intervene in a Live Shooter scenario on the property. It could be debated either way as to which is better. Careless legal gun owners can be an issue. Not everyone that passes the permit class is fit to carry. I have seen that myself. On the other hand, no one being armed leaves an opening for a shooter to proceed without fear of retaliation. For her case, the issue of Tennessee being a "right to work" state could come into play. My employer does not have to have a stated reason to let me go. Makes it precarious to push then even if I have a legal right. And going to court on it does not pay a terminated employees bills right now. I am sure her contract has an out clause for the school system. -
No matter what, that would still sting a bit if it was in your mag pouch

Looking to pick up a box of .22 Short. Anyone seen any on the shelf in East TN?

Hate to saw it, but when was the last time you saw payphone? They are rare as bag phones.... That is an idea, but you have less control over texting. Even though texting and cameras suck on a flip phone it still can be done. Millions of teenagers proved it before smart phones came along. Plus done right with a smartphone, you can keep location control on and check in on her location if her trust level deems it necessary. There is a balance to strike between parent and prison guard, but how far in which direction depends on the kid. Online is the worst, because they think it is no big deal...until that crotch shot ends up on every phone in the school....

Yeah, I don't want to talk about mine

Unfortunately, not much you can do to fix stupid.

I have read of a few guys that Elk hunt with a .50 at long range. Supposedly it works out well.

+1 for Screentime on Android. The Apple version of it is coming along, but still not 100%. You can block individual apps, set time limits, set bedtimes, look at their surf history remotely, and list new app installs. As far as texting, you can also talk to your carrier and if it is real texting, not I Message or another app, you can get copies of times and numbers, but usually not content. You can see if it is a pic msg or text though.

Yeah, what they are used for makes a big difference. I used to work in a boot store. Not a small company, but Nocona boot used to have a huge size range and wide range of custom order options. You could choose sole type, toe shape, material, and height. Still not off the shelf, but could get you something you like better.

Been too busy or too rainy. Maybe I can get a day this week to pop a few rounds through it. If I like it, I might look for a .22LR one. Been thinking of one to start the kids on.

I will have to keep that in mind. Thanks

Yeah, no way I want shot even with a .22 Short. I like the weight of it better than a LCP. I think the wood is classic. There is a little crack in one grip, but you have to look for it. Maybe I will get a few mags worth of time this week. Is the Model 85 the one where they went to high capacity mags?

So I bought a Bersa 83 recently. I like the feel in my hand, but I have not shot it yet. Anyone got one? What are your thoughts? For a guy that does not like .380, they keep following me home.

Yeah I make sure she does not see the box of ammo come in that is almost too heavy to carry. Plus, I have it all delivered to work. They are starting to look at me funny though since all my boxes say small arms cartridge. I started to ship myself a box that says Large arms cartridge, just to see if they notice, but I prefer not to meet any more Federal agents than I have to. That being said I forgot the Monarch ammo from Academy that I have on the way. They have a great deal on it right now. -

10 Gen 2 Pmags.. Should I have finished my AR before getting them? I had to buy them quick so I do not have to talk about the 3 pistols I bought... Bersa 83, Keltec Pf-9, and Iver Johnson .32 S&W breaktop......Just don't tell my wife about any of it. Lol -

So is that your patrol car, or did you just break into one because you thought it would make a cool pic? Lol -

Maybe they are scared of the syringes and used condoms. Lol -
I agree. I have seen similar movies, but the acting is bad...so the whole movie sucks. The premise is good, but it just does not make you want to watch it. I agree about Scarlett Johansson and Kate Beckinsale. Scarlett gets a bigger nod from me because of her Thor's Hammer tattoo. Just a personal interest of mine. I loke her as a redhead too. Other than that both of them keep my interest. I don't buy Angelina Jolie as a movie bad ass either, but I still like to watch her. I think her age is catching up with her like the rest of us though. Still pretty, but maybe all the kids are wearing her down. lol I still like this look though. I really hated the Mr and Mrs Smith movie though. Lots of action, but it really did not make sense overall. Bad script and plot.
