My son did lights for a local theater production recently. I noticed that one of the cast members had brown elephant Tony Lama boots as part of his costume. Someone had donated them a bunch of clothes and those were in there. Looked almost new. I have a pair of Nocona shark skin. I really love the grain of those. One thing that would be nice that we used to carry in boots is stingray. It is TOUGH but still plyable. Hopefully you can get him on here. The more the merrier.

I knew working 5 years in a boot store would pay off some day. Can you get elephant now? I always heard it is a super tough hide and wears well but that it was not imported any longer.

Elephant? Looks like that grain.

Are there any other requirements of membership than dues? I think Cherokee requires a few hours work each year. -
Bersaguy So how much lead are you talking about?

So are you a member? Yeah I read a note on the site that seemed like it was short handed at times as range masters go. Would suck to go shoot and not be able to if no one was thete -
I might be afraid what I would do if I took some of these idiots to the range. Then again some of them might be smart enough not to attend. In all honesty though, if they people actually went shooting with a responsible level headed person they might see that guns are not so "scary". Give them a .38 and let them pop some cans. Avoid the sensational full auto mag dump that the media likes to show to prove these guns are too violent to allow people a choice to own them. On my average day I am more worried about a distracted driver killing me that someone with a gun. The odds are far more likely. Just car wrecks do not make a splashy news story unless here are more macabre details. As bad as a shooting is, the media makes every story about a shooting into a Madman on a killing spree. Sometimes when someone shoots someone else, that is the only person they intend to shoot. That is not a rampage, that is a murder. Used to be that those never made national headlines unless they had some bigger connection. Pretty soon drones are going to roam around to video every deer kill so they can report it nationally as a hunter on a anti-nature rampage. I still believe that the day someone lists their career as "politician" they become a useless leech polluting our system of government for their own benefit.

I have a place I can shoot close to work and me and a few coworkers used to go shot often at lunch. Too bad those guys changed jobs.

I may have to try it. Do they have anything indoor or covered? I have been trying to get over to the forest service range in Unicoi. Pretty far for me though. $3 a day and usually empty from what I hear. What I really need is a few isolated acres to shoot on. Fat chance of that though. -
Been a couple weeks for me. I hope to get out tomorrow unless I get to meet a guy to buy some ammo. I have a couple guns that I bought used that I need to put the first round through. Sad when I can't get out often enough for that. I usually shoot outside though and the weather limits me.

Oh do you have invisible friends like me?

I did it, but I promise I did not know what I was doing.

7-11 employee on smoke break, smokes a robber.

If I was her, I would give up smoking. The counter would have possible stopped the bullets if she had been behind it. Good for her that she was aware enough to get her gun clear and make the shots. Shows she has some training not to freeze up when getting shot at. This is the reason I never wanted to work night shift at a convenience store. In some cities you would be safer shipping out to Afghanistan. -
I believe that was intentional misdirection lol

Welcome. Glad to meet ya!

Hardest part for me is that the one that sleeps next to me is the one that thinks I am the craziest. lol

A good start is Scratch and take a look at Python. Does her school have a Lego First robotics team? My son loves it and they have to program the robots actions in a fairly simple drag and drop type program. The idea is not too far off from game programing at its base level.

Take a look at the issues of MagPi on the RaspberryPi website. They cover lots of project info. I have a v1 B. Also, SD card are cheap, don't limit yourself to one OS, get a few.

I doubt he thought...at least not with the head on his shoulders. I just wonder how he came up with a remote cabin in California. Seems to have been planning a while.

Spam can ammo - Do I need an opener????
Ronald_55 replied to Ronald_55's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Thanks for all the input guys. Turns out the guy got back in touch with me and has another tin plus an opener that I can buy. Considering it is 32.5 cents per round shipped, I'm grabbing it. -
I hate to say it, but from seeing previous cases like this, they better give her a pregnancy test. Also, I wonder why charges were not brought up originally. I mean firing him was right but kissing a 15yo should have landed him in jail most places. He is a figure of authority even if she is old enough to be "concenting"

The pretty obvious danger of taking in other people is that, even if they have skills, they might decide they can use your supplies better than you while you are sleeping. On the other side, if you have some trustworthy people the extra hands could really help to work with crops and animals. This will be important after the initial stages of a long term issue. The problem is finding these people before things go bad. Trust should be a very limited commodity after. Some of us that see the need to have plans in place do not live in a setting or with others that see the same thing. This makes it even harder because if things go bad either of the two may cause dangerous delays in putting plans into action. All the food, guns, and ammo in the world will not help if you can't get people in the car and moving if things happen fast and you are away from home. When making simple suggestions to better prepare, such as stocking up on more canned food, get you the "when are you putting on the tinfoil hat" stare, it is hard to plan for the bigger issues. Hopefully I never need to say "told you so". Either that or I need to move to that off-the-grid 10x10 cabin I have been thinking of. It might help me keep my sanity for a bunch of reasons.

Good catch. Lol

That is one. How do you like it? I have visited Kettlefoot, but it is way too expensive for the little I get to shoot. It is nice though. I saw there is a Watagua, but I don't know anything about it.
