That is probably 5 months and 29 days more than most kids today. My Dad ran a landscape, tree trimming, acoustical ceiling, handyman business on the side. I was told that was my "job" until I got out of school. Sometimes Dad tossed me a few bucks. I made most of my cash picking up aluminum cans at the drag strip while my parents worked there Saturday nights. I usually got a couple full trash bags even if I crushed the cans. Dad hauled them in for me every few months and kept a few bucks for gas since it was a decent ways to the center. That is how I saved for my first car. Things like that taught me to be resourceful. There is always money to be made, you just have to see it and work for it.

I do tech for a construction company and I know for a fact some of our senior field staff make more than me. It is hard to find guys to fill those positions that want to work and have any experience at all. Lots of our guys are at or nearing retirement. Not sure what we are going to do.

That looks neat! I see its merits.

Oooohhh. Ouch. Put some ice on that. Remember - you bleed on it, you buy it...So you got off lucky.

It would add a bunch of shrapnel for sure

Sweet baby Jesus, no... this can't be real. This has to be trolling.

Hey, post back that you suggest he sell the gun cheap since it is obviously a lemon. Then buy a nice German made Rohm RG14 . -

Never be surprised by the extent of the stupidity possible out of some people. -
Stumbled across this interesting Colt for sale. Also an interesting story with a gun buy back program horror tidbit. I am not affiliated with the seller. http://www.gunbroker.com/item/692312749

Sounds good. I just see some rich dude paying bus loads of 20 year olds to go buy for him. Or having his buddy hold listings up so they only sale at 11:59 the last day of the budget year. That way he can buy all he wants. Then he probably "refurbs" the items and sells them back to the government at s 2000% profit.

If they were really honest then they would have to call them "Over Priced Guns, Cheaply made Prepper Gear, and Tasty Beef Jerky Shows" You better have a heck of a store of water. lol -

I wasn't but now I am interested too. -
You are right in correcting me. Sign me up for it if you work it out. I will take all I can fit in the back of a Semi, even if I have to take out a loan to buy it. Can we get a waiver so that we can sell globally? Some of that night vision stuff would bring even higher prices in some other places. Naturally, I would not sell anywhere we had military involvement.

Good idea....never will happen. That would mean that the IRS would have to give up money they want to get for the Navy/Army/Marines/ETC. to get the $x.xx. Different departments and organizations are touchy about giving their money away....even to another government agency.

Sounds like time to UPS some stuff home lol

The image of a 5ft tall 80lb woman spraying 30 rounds from the hip at a home invader made me chuckle. Maybe I just need more sleep.

If she really has to have a wheel gun, but can't stand the recoil, take a look at a Taurus model 94. It is .22LR. I have one in regular and one in UltraLite. Both mine are stubbies and I love them. Holds 9 rounds. They are not current production, but are fairly common. They also have a Model 941 that is a 8 round .22 Mag. I know people do not see the .22LR as a defense round, but sounds like her options are limited. http://www.taurususa.com/product-details.cfm?id=388&category=Revolver Though if she is comfortable with the Bersa, that might be the best bet still. Being confident and comfortable with a gun means a lot in a stress situation.

Looks like Taurus makes one http://www.taurususa.com/product-details.cfm?id=856&category=Revolver Do you think she coukd manage a lightweight. 38?

The more I read this the more I think I need to take up scuba diving. Save a few poor souls from the murky depths. If anyone questioned where the guns I don't have right now came from, I could tell them "the bottom of the lake"

My Dad drove a dump truck for a few months in Oak Ridge on a government job. He actually got in trouble for doing too many loads in a day. He was told "We get paid by the hour, slow down." Telling my Dad that is like telling the grass not to grow. It seems unnatural for him. As far a the office furniture moving, my wife works for a large company that is not union, but still has to do they same crap. They can't even change a light bulb without sending in an electrician work ticket. So that is not all reserved for government. Still stupid though.
