  1. I am struggling to find a time and a spot to sight in my "new to me" rifle/scope combo. Been years since I hunted at all. Where I am invited to hunt, they frown on any shooting this late. Anyone know if any of the indoor ranges in NE TN have setups for rifle? All the pics I have seen are pistol type tables. I may just have to try one of the National Forest ranges, but I hear they can be very hit or miss and the closest is about 40 minutes away. My schedule is as much an issue as anything else. Only thing I miss about my old gig. I had a place to shoot there whenever I wanted. My Dad used to sight in his with one shot each year, but it was never was a get together. Maybe because shooting that .444 was not fun after a few shots. Or because the cost per shot was enough to make you wince. He also hunted alone most of the time though and still does.
  2. Since it is getting colder I bought a cheaper shoulder rig to try out. Fits my M&P .45 and CZ P-09. Has 2 mag pouches on other side. I have always seen the shoulder rigs as the best option though they do require a jacket to cover. We will see how I like it.

  5. I thought it was just me getting older, but the deals on everything have gotten worse over the last 10 years or so

  8. Do you have a link?
  9. Sorry my bad. You are right. Tube feed type magazine on that rifle, right?
  10. What size primer would I use with that?
  11. Not a clue, but with TRI so close I bet it is not a ton. Plus the row of houses so close makes me think it is kind of quiet.
  12. Best those were some happy scouts. Leather can be expensive. I have been told that unless you have a shed or something away from the house you will end up divorced. lol. Not a pleasant thing to do in in your tub... I have read up too. Basically if you brain tan, you need very little besides the hide, brain and a tub. A fleshing knife can help.
  13. Speaking of not wasting, any of you guys tan the hides? My father-in-law keeps the antlers, but tosses the hide in the dumpster. I wish I had time and space to tan a few of them.
  14. No idea where this land is exactly, but this is an example in East TN. This site seems to be a decent place to look through. https://m.landwatch.com/tennessee/hawkins-county/land-for-sale/?id=2385210
  15. This is from the email. Says early reservations are full when you click it.

  19. You mean finally carrying now that you are legal, right? None of us around here would carry without a permit.
  20. Not to be too stereotypical, but how could anyone not expect people to be armed...in TEXAS
  21. Ok, I will Pm you my shipping so you can get an amount. My shipping address has changed.
  22. Bersa Well if it is SKS gear, I am interested in pic #2 stuff. Pm sent.
  23. I think the screw clamp looking thing in second pic looks like a sight adjustment tool. The top black piece in that pic looks familiar too but can't place it. Something AK maybe.
  24. What about something like a concrete anchor. The type you screw in and it expands the end. Some type of larger sleeve around it to fit the tube and equalize the pressure evenly. To reach deeper ones you just need a longer bolt or allthread to reach them. Just a thought to toss out there to you guys.
  25. Good to know. Thanks!
