  1. I understand both sides, but there is very little additional work in transferring the second, third, fourth, etc beyond the first. I don't want them to transfer 100 items on one fee, but maybe limit it to 5 or something. When I stop in to do a transfer, I often end up buying something anyway. It may not be huge, but I usually find something in the used misc bin at least. From a personal point of view, my budget causes me to look hard at prices on everything I buy. Unfortunately, most of the LGS pricing is no where close to online pricing (as most of you know). Also, I have not hit on a shop yet that "clicks" with me. I have tried a few, but no luck. I am more apt to pay a slightly higher price to a place I feel good working with not that is just the most convenient FFL to transfer through.
  2. I woukd love to do this too. Best I can find in NE TN is a discounted cost on the second and so on. By the time you pay the transfer the cheap lowers have doubled in price almost. Plus, I would like to pick up a few things off Gunbroker if I can avoid the same issue.
  3. Definately more range time. My swap in jobs cost me access to the impromptu range I could shoot at free anytime (even on my lunch break...I miss that). I need to keep working to make everything second nature and tighten up my groupings. Thinking of finally getting my cc permit. I have held off because the places I spend the most time at are "gun free" due to the nature of the business. I hate leaving my gun in the car most of the day. I have a real "need" for a .357 S&W. My Papaw carried a snub nose one on the force and I have always seen it as iconic. The EAA I have does great, but I still want lol.
  4. In the short term, even in a bad situation, some people will still trade for your silver. If it all went bad, I would start to quickly trade for things to supplement my stock. It will let me fill in spaces of things directly related to the exact situation. This is just a supplement to my main stock. Plus you know if the it is a werewolf apocalypse. You can always make bullets.
  5. I bought some silver over the last while. Some is bullion, some is scrap silver coins. I figure it eats nothing and, as you said, if SHTF, then you have something to barter with. I have thought of trying to get a bunch of coins from the bank and sift through it to see if I find 90% silver coins. I think quarters and dimes before 1964 are. Some of the silver I bought was in grams. Each is about the size of your finger nail.
  6. I think everyone needs a Luger, a Garand, a 1911, a Mauser, a Mosin Nagant, an old S&W revolver.... Well I guess if everyone had them no one would want them....
  7. Ok. Thanks. I will try to get up there. Strange that BP was not on their site. Too bad it says the #11 caps are out of stock in store. Maybe they will have them too. I used to order a bunch from Cabelas online because shipping it to TN avoids tax and they often have free shipping, even on a ton of ammo shipped st once.
  8. A quick search says human urine freezes at -182 F......I can't help being scientific.... Good one though
  9. Glad to meet ya!
  10. I did post all the guns at one point, but I think the pics broke when photobucket did its crap. I never posted pics of all the ammo that I remember.
  11. No my wife's go to would be much less patient and subtle. That is also where the beauty I posted above came to...well my new work anyway.
  12. Ok I am intrigued....off subject.. is that a head of broccoli on top of a propane tank, IN a tire? Award for most random stuff in a gun pic...
  13. Ruger - "Ugly is what we do."
  14. Just got this via another member. Can't wait to run it. I have a 10 pack of mags on the way too. Really got to beef up my ammo stock. I don't have a lot of 7.62x39 since only my SKS uses it.
  15. And why is the guy covered in ice? Really you only drink your urine in the desert. And if you failed enough not to have water, you will probably not have a gun either.
  16. Maybe, but I think makers are trying too hard to fill a niche that is already pretty crowded.
  17. Looks like someone tried to make a Marlin Camp 9 into a tactical rifle. Other that break down, how is this much better than a AR-9?
  18. Everyone wants their pistol to be a rifle??? Anyone seen these? They have Glock 1911, and XD models. http://mechtechsys.com

  20. Juat bumping this so others that have been busy with the holiday can see it to chime in. Thanks
  21. Can anyone tell me some good places to look for actual Black Powder and substitute powders in stock at good prices in NE TN? I looked around online, but the HazMat charge is as much as the powder to get it shipped. Honestly I have not gone into the big box stores yet because they don't list actual black powder as a stocked item. I started to go by Cabela's but the sub. powder I was going to get showed out of stock in Bristol. Thanks up front.
  22. Interesting... hopefully you do not plan to cc that. Lol Reminds of the 1950's Sci-fi ray guns. If they are built on that tight of tolerances, I bet they are fantastic when broken in. Enjoy!
  23. You could have tossed that in the Wasr box.
  24. Generally if it is the standard it sucks sooner or later. Microsoft Office, Adobe Anything, AutoCAD, etc. I think they figure when everyone is hooked they can do whatever and still rake in cash.
  25. Lol. I bet that paint would burn off the barrel in no time. I like blued steel and wood furniture most of the time. My man card is perfectly safe.
