  2. I would have if it had not gotten snuck away when I was not looking.
  3. Precisely why I would not have windows if the Fire Marshall would let me. If course roll down shutters can be installed after he leaves......
  4. If I was building a house, I would use a commercial steel frame too. If it was block, I would probably weld pins to the outside of the frame to reach back 6 inches or so into the block. Maybe 3 on each side and 2 at the top and bottom. It was d@mn heavy, but I toyed with picking up a lead lined door from a XRAY room that was 'scrap' to cut to house size. I decided that the rest being wood negated the value. My current door is steel, but not solid. I would prefer something in that space to make it harder to shoot through or drill. Weight is an issue though.
  5. My wife just forwarded me a link to this place. A makerspace is a community membership workshop that has "house" tools and materials to use. You can buy a membership. The thing that interests me is the classes. There is a Beginning Blacksmithing And a Beginning Welding that sound Interesting. Anyone know anybody there or has anyone been there? No idea how new it is. I know Knoxville used to be the closest makerspace. https://www.skillvillejc.com/sheduling
  6. Now that is a proper looking gun!
  7. Well mine goes the other way too, I don't ask her either, so it is not dishonest. Of course most of her stuff is spent going out to lunch with friends every day where I brown bag and use that for ammo and guns. Lol Basically if the bills are paid and we keep some in savings, then neither of us care.
  8. I am at 2 decades but she is never convinced. I have a don't ask, don't tell policy. She doesnt ask what I bought and I don't tell her.
  9. Need, who goes by need? Want on the other hand....
  10. I bet she thought it was heavy.... Seriously is it a Bren?
  11. Bill, you beat me to it. Here is a link. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Stout-Stuff-Metal-Ammo-Box/181890587
  12. Nice. My uneducated (about Mosins) self would have had no idea what it was.
  13. Signed up. No email to hotmail in inbox or spam after a few minutes.
  14. Best I am doing so far is rotating out ammo. The rest of the family is not on board, so I get odd stares when I start talking about stuff. Funny thing is, I am the IT guy, you would think I would be the one less likely to think this way. I am planning more of a garden this year. We have not done much the last few years. I do have a lawn full of yard onions, so I might just collect them too. Lol
  15. You have more faith in people than I do. But maybe everyone just grabbed a quicky with someone close at hand instead of shooting their ex in the head. I mean I won the lotto, so anything can happen. I just have to find a good use for my $12 now...lol
  16. I saw one to a pdf, but I can't find it in my history now. It was dead, so I couldn't read the letter anyway.
  17. Meaning a normal good person is just not going to start raping and murdering because they get a alert on their cell. Murders and rapists might take a notion though.
  18. If you do bad stuff because you get an alerton your cell....you are already doing bad stuff..
  19. So has anyone found a copy of the ATF letter.? Looks like they had it posted on their site, but the link is dead.
  20. An old post somewhere says that 2 pack used to be $20.
  21. I have a Streamlight Stylus Pro that is 2xAAA. I have EDC'd it in the nylon holster in my pocket for a long time. Batteries seem to last a long time for me. May not be the brightest on the market, but works great. They are $20 from Amazon. http://amzn.to/2gNDE3D
  22. Exactly the reason I would avoid such things that slipped through the cracks. One incident and the ATF ruling changes. Then you are in violation or out the cost of the item. Especially if it is something as granular as firing on trigger release instead of pull. That said, I do not do NFA items anyway. That way I avoid the possibility of violating something by accident.
  23. Hits home with me... too close to my age. The best wishes to his family. I will miss drooling over his guns.
  24. Great to hear!
  25. I did notice this after, but most people don't know the difference. Well I used to hear stories of guys re-militarizing 50 cals. Same might be possible here ...if you had the permits....
