A railed gas block would fix needing to swap hand guards. Of course a low profile one would look better without hand guards covering it than a cut off A2. You could always set it up to co-witness I guess

Probably not anything new, but lately I have seen a bunch of ARs for sale where someone obviously cut off the A2 front sight instead of just replacing it. On these I see no special customization. Am I just seeing "bubba'd" ARs that are coming to light after the bandwagon rush buyers get tired of them? Would not be hard to fix if they were not asking more than I can buy a new one for. Reminds me of seeing a bunch of decent shotguns hacked off when "home defense" shotguns became the rage.

Yeah no way I am paying that for an AR that cost $600 max to build at home.

Has anyone looked into the classes Legal Heat runs at Cabela's. Looking into it, it is a 4 hour course with no range time or test. It says your permit will be issued from Utah or Arizona by mail. It says it covers Virginia too. Am I missing something? I know they are in Virginia, but it sounds like odd. I really think they orchestrated the fight between Rick and Daryll just to get rid of the guns and ammo in that humvee. Rather out of place and stupid at that moment.

Probably not long unless they were able to get a patent filed on a pre-existing technology. I bet they did not or someone would have leaked the patent application. So any barrel manufactures that read this: Crank us out some barrels to get started. So is the straight lands the ONLY thing that makes this work or is the 26 inch over all still in play?

Looks like the Matchdot manual is here under Ultradot. Not a lot to the manual though. Looks like battery compartment may be on the largest upward turret or post. A Nickle should work on it. I have not read the report, but as a general statement: you can not stop everyone that wants to do this kind of thing. I have argued it many times with people. Unless you limit it to the point that you collect all urine, bat guano, fertilizer or silly things like that, you still leave people that are determined enough materials to build destructive devices. No one thinks anything if you buy a hacksaw, steel pipe, pipe caps, Teflon tape, and a drill at Lowe's. Or like the Unabomber, just use scrap pipe and such. These could be made into pipe bombs or jerryrigged guns. Take a look at some other countries. They make guns out of anything. I saw an industrial stapler turned into a one shot pistol. This guy could have crashed a small plane full of homemade explosives instead of shooting. Or driven a truck into the crowd. People are lucky he did not. So all the people out there screaming for gun restrictions refuse to admit in the overall, it will make little positive difference even if these people can't get guns. We all know truthfully that they will just buy them illegally or steal them anyway.
