  1. Anyone ever bought from these guys? https://22mods4all.com They have a good priced rifle kit and I have a lower to build. Thanks
  2. Well with each pack being 3600 calories, that should be enough to make it home. To deal with the ratio, you can just eat more that the suggested portion. I looked a bunch for food options. This one was on the heavy end of the list, but the shelf life, no special storage requirements, no water needed (actually meant to not induce thirst), and price caused me to choose them.
  3. A few things that I would put in a general bag that do not require rotation. This is if NOT flying and is a general "if" bag. Fixed blade knife - Mora's are good if you just want it to stay there and not worry about cost: http://amzn.to/2ycaRkr Folding Knife - for places where a fixed blade would be frowned upon. I like the Gerber Air Ranger I just picked up. Good knife, but cheap enough to knock around with: http://amzn.to/2FrYOja Gloves - In case you need to work on the car or something. I like the Mechanix brand : http://amzn.to/2FugUBj. Toss some latex ones in there too in case you need to uses them when the others are too thick. Keeps you hands clean for that dinner date. Disposable coveralls - cheap and good in case you are dressed up and get a flat or something. Get big enough to go over your nice clothes. It is sort of a luxury item, but under $10. http://amzn.to/2EQkKaT Disposable lighter - I find myself needing one all the time even though I don't smoke. Starting fires, lighting candles, burning rope to keep it from unraveling, etc. Small tool kit/roll - flat and Philips screwdriver, vice grips, crescent wrench, etc. A Multitool might replace this, but might not do as well on certain jobs. Extra socks - a dry pair of socks can do a world of good if yours get soaked. Flashlight - I seem to always be needing one. I like my Streamlight Stylus Pro. http://amzn.to/2gNDE3D Cash - i agree, but a stock of 1's and some quarters. Nice when you need something from the hotel vending at 1 am. Hotels dry me out, so I always need a drink. Phone chargers - just in case you forget one and nothing is close. Some more "survival" based items if you want them in there would be: Fire Starting Rod - This works wet and is small. Toss a zip lock with a couple cotton balls smeared in petroleum jelly and you can start fire anywhere. Good if your car breaks down in BFE. http://amzn.to/2ESz0f8 Candle - Good for light and can keep a small area (such as a car) fairly warm. Just seal it in a zip lock in case it melts. First aid kit - Just a small one, but so you always have something around. Seems like a lot, but nothing there, besides maybe the tools, are large or heavy. The kit I keep in my car is a lot larger, but I am just that way. If you ccw, I would put an extra mag in there and maybe a tiny cleaning kit. A piece of cloth, bank line, and some oil should be enough. Never know when you might stop by a range out of town.
  4. Look at the S. O. S. Ration. No water needed. 5 year shelf life. Not a lot of variety, but not heat sensitive. Even stack up pretty nice because of the square shspe. Lots of calories in small package. http://amzn.to/2GHts7I They have long storage water too. http://amzn.to/2CHPIvU
  5. First question is: What is this bag for? You say overnight, but is that staying over at a family member or friends house, traveling farther away to a hotel, getting the h3ll out of dodge, or a just in case kind of bag? Also, do you mean a survival bag, or just a bag for your car?
  6. That is fabulous. So what are you using it for?
  7. I was always told to never touch a man's gun, dog, or wife without permission. As fun as it sounds, I would be hesitant to do that.
  8. Not a problem. I am debating some. I have really thought about getting one of these and I would need cans, not the crates I have. I have seen these cabinets cheaper. I still keep hoping I can just pick up a decent deal on another cheap safe to stack ammo in. I really like the idea of securing it a bit http://www.cabelas.com/product/STACK-ON-FIREPOWER-AMMO-CABINET/2045265.uts?slotId=1
  9. Wal-mart rolled theirs back to $6.99. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Stout-Stuff-Metal-Ammo-Box/181890587
  10. I kind of see that demand seems to be climbing. Lots of boating accidents it seems.
  11. As a kid I found a cocoon and brought it in. Put it in a jar with holes pinched in lid. Turned out to be Praying Mantises The holes were too big and they were everywhere. Years later, I still found a few dead ones under my dresser when I moved out. Lol
  12. How about we do a video of building an AR to be donated for use by a school resource officer? If these idiots really cared, they would just turn the guns into a police office to be used to . PROTECT students. Destroying their guns does absolutely zip to protect students.
  13. Highlands near Kinlochleven, Scotland.
  14. No it was like a gray and black woolly worm with longer black stinging hairs over its entire body. I have seen packsaddles with one spot of longer stinging hairs, but they are usually white, green, or yellow. I did not recover it and never saw a pic that looked exactly like it.
  15. Just in case anyone is interested in less loading at the range. Glock .40 Cal 50 Round Drum Magazine $29.99 at Classic Firearms. Classic Firearms .40 cal drum
  16. Wreck of the SS City of Adelaide off the coast of Magnetic Island in Australia
  17. I have new respect for bugs after STILL having a u shaped scar on my arm from being stung by a stinging caterpillar 5 years ago... The walk in clinic in NC had everyone look at my forearm swelled up to the size of a football... Apparently it got discussed in a medical seminar later. No one could identify what type it was.
  18. 1st time I have ever got it off as a paid holiday. Just one perk of my new job. I wife doesn't. She was kinda cranky about having to go to work while I had a day off. Lol
  19. I can't afford a lot of special gear or long trips. Probably just use my .308 or 30-30 like I would with deer. I just would like to get to do it once and Dad has always talked about it. Would like to get him out to do it. He had a health scare recently, so I am thinking it is now or never. Might just be stuck with saving up to do a reserve. Not the worst thing and probably get a better chance at one than if I just ended up hunting somewhere I do not know. Be interested in at least bringing back some meat to share around in the family.
  20. So how does that work? Do you retrieve the kills? I can;t imagine you would from the helo.
  21. Nice work! It is a thing of beauty when projects come together.
  22. It could also be that they get a flood of emails, so they just don't check it.
  23. Oh crap... that is nice. I would love to have more barrels for my 14.
  24. Most people in those buildings are under 25. Thus those people have a "beef" with that place. Workplace shootings probably have a higher percentage of older shooters if I had to guess. There are other examples of people with no connection looking for east targets, but if they don't have a gun they will drive a truck full of homemade explosives onto the playground or the into the front door at dismissal.
  25. Let's not go adding arbitrary laws and rules that will not stop these anyway. If an 18 year old wants a gun, his parents will probably just buy it. Or he will steal his dad's, grandpa's, or another family members if he plans something bad. If someone does not care about human life, then they sure as h3ll are not going to care about laws.
