  1. Our cities are getting full of animals...
  2. I commend you, wyattearp. I offer the following as a possibility for you and others. I volunteer at Operation Stand Down in Nashville. Their annual event is 3,4 and 5 November. The idea of the event is to get homeless veterans off the streets for a few days and give them some help. They are collected from various locations or make their own way there, given a safe place to sleep for a few days, with plenty of food and given clothing. Local musicians provide entertainment. They have AA and NA meetings on site. VA comes in and provides minor medical and mental heath care, dentists, volunteer barbers are on hand. Meals are provided free to volunteers and participants and are donated by various organizations...one I remember from last year was the Order of the Purple Heart. A local judge has his staff there to help with some minor legal and criminal issues. There are many Federal, state, and local agencies that come together to help vets. Volunteers are also needed to help set up and tear down and staff various duties. You can donate money, clothing time, and probably other stuff too. If anyone wants to donate or help, you can contact Bill Burleigh at 615) 248-1981. You can tell him John Alexander sent ya. All of the participants at this event are veterans and many have fallen on hard times. Some have substance abuse problems, some may have mental problems...some may be there because of their own fault. But these guys have served their country, some in combat, some not, but all answered the call of their country, and could use some help now. The potentially bad news...the location is the old Tennessee Prepatory School on Foster avenue off of Murfreesboro rd in Nashvillew. It may be a state building and may be posted, Im not sure about that...In any case...its a worthwhile cause. These guys either went off to fight Americas wars or at least signed up to do so. See ya there?
  3. I've got a question. I'm NOT racist, but when was the last time you heard of a mob of white people attacking blacks?
  4. The two things most other folks in the world understand is power, and the willingness to use it unilaterally. We have the former, but are losing it, and we have already lost the latter.
  5. JayC "...And for the record, we switched banks, and haven't had a single over draft even though we haven't changed a thing... the new bank just isn't playing any games like Regions. We receive our credit card deposits 1 to 2 days quicker, our overnight investment move happens without a hitch, and the money is always back in time the next morning to cover all the checks... and they process them in the order in which they receive them." What bank do you use?

    i need a 1911

    Mom, the flag, apple pie...and a 1911...
  7. Now THAT is a unique way to use paracord, lol.
  8. Ditto
  9. I've been in this situation more than once...at my local gunshop one time 3 hoody looking types came in when I was ready to leave...since there was only one guy working at the shop, I hung around, just in case...profiling? yes. But I'd want similar if I was in the employees situation. None of my business perhaps, but I wasnt gonna leave him hanging...conversely...similar situation occured at the same gun shop when 2 hood y types came in but the owner was there and about 3 of his employees., all armed of course..I was ready to leave and I did, knowing full well that they could handle anything that developed. I'm sick and tired of profiling being considered racist or a bad thing...look at who and where the most crimes are committed...it's the same at the airports with TSA...they search little old ladies, despite the profile of the average terrorist being not like her...ya cant JUST profile, but profiling is NOT a bad thing...JEEZ.

  11. I love these shirts...if you watch the sales you can get them pretty cheap...I usually pay $16 for them at Academy on sale, and have probably 8 in different colors, both short and long sleeve...they come in sizes up to at least 3X and have big pockets. I buy the big ones and wear a tshirt under them...makes OWB concealment easy.

  13. I agree wholeheartedly! It's time to dispense with all political correctness, and insert some common sense. Id not only prvent them from being in the military, police, Homeland Security, etc, but I'd also, deport them. It's high time that we consider this farce of separation of church and state to have run its course. There's something wrong when you allow a group of people who are completely unlike our own population to come here and then change our country. Whether its the Latinos from south of the border or the Muslims from wherever, its an attempt to takeover the country and in my eyes, no less than an armed invasion.
  14. Definitely appeal the decision on unemployment benefits. make sure you do so within the deadline they gave you. While you are waiting for the appeal hearing date, continue to certify each week that you are still unemployed. If the decision is overturned, they will pay you from the date you filed your initial claim.
  15. Where? And is that out the door?
  16. There are some old Mossberg bullpups floating around from an old production...wonder if these are what people are seeing? At first glance I could see how one might temporarily confuse them with the KSG.
  17. There's always variations of yin/yang. Also, look here. A few ideas anyay: Left evil, right good... Why does the "right" represent good and the "left" represent evil? 18. I have always carried my 1911s cocked and locked. When I was in the USAF we carried S&W .38 revolvers for years until we finally changed to the Beretta 9mm. I remember when we first got the clearing procedures, I was right away uncomfortable with the troops carrying one in the chamber until one of my NCOs pointed out to me that we already did carry one in the chamber in our .38s, lol.

    Good cop

Wow...now THAT is the way to do it!
  20. I've not shot my PMR-30 much...100 rounds only...and I never noticed any keyholing at all. I was using the CCI Maximax ammo...think it was 40 gr. I did ask for and get the replacement barrel, just in case...fihured it couldn't hurt to have it.
  21. I think the property owner has the right to decide what he does not want on his property, HOWEVER, I don't think it should be a legally posted opt out situatution, that if violated, constitutes a violation of the HCP laws. Instead, I would make it where the owners could post if they want...those who carried anyway would run the risk of being asked to leave, and if they don't, THEN would be subject to the trespassing laws. Government building should NOT be posted nor should any other place like parks, schools, etc. I think that if a place posts, then they should incur the legal responsibility of providing reasonably adequate protection from harm while in their facility. I'm waiting for a place that IS posted to have a violent incident involving the injury of a HCP holder who wasn't able to protect himself because of his inability to carrry in a posted place...to then lodge a lawsuit against the business. If THAT happened, and the penalty was severe enough and pubicized, perhaps business owners woulf stop posting. I wish that more people would understand that LEGAL handgun carriers are not the problem...
  22. So how much was it total?
  23. His arguments sure make you think.
