CCW Holder saves cop's life...
Defender replied to jaxjohn419's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
65 yards is pretty darn good shooting with a handgun. -
If ya dont mind saying, how much did it cost ya to build it?

Didnt care much for the holster, but what was that belt attachment on his belt? Looked way comfy and it looked like he had them on both sides of his waist...not the plastic belt attachment, but the padded canvas looking thing...

Apply some logic here. It WILL be either Romney or Obama. It wont be some 3rd party 2nd Amendment superhero written in by the masses. Romney or Obama. You vote (or non-vote) will help one of these two people, either directly help Romney, or directly or indirectly help Obama. A vote for for anyone but Romney, or a non vote, will be like a partial vote for Obama. Im obviously not a mathematician but I think there's actually a formula that would depict this better than my meager attempt, You've just got to decide which one of these two guys you want to help get in/stay in office. Cuz, rest assured we will ALL help one of them. Anyone who wont vote for Romney out of principle must understand that they will help reelect Obama, either by direct action or inaction. Im not a big fan of many of Romneys' past practices, but do I think he'd be better than Obama? No contest here, Im voting for Romney!

I fail to understand how ANY rational thinking person can look at Obama with anything but disgust. But I respect your right to do so. Im not a fan of anyone that the Republican party has put forward lately. The bottom line is that the majority of the people in this country are center right, politically. What this means is that for a Dem to get elected he/she must be perceived as close to a moderate. Same is true for a Repub. One must move to the right, if they are too far to the left, and the other must move to the left, if they are too far to the right. Maybe this is a good thing or not, but at least it tends to make the election one that is decided by a majority of the voters, assuming that all voters are legitimate. Personally, I am fare more of a right winger than not. Probably somewhat of a Libertarian, but not as naive as I consider most of them to be. I mean, without SOME government, I think we'd have anarchy. I will be voting for Romney. Obama is simply not an option for me as I feel his intent to, in his own words, "fundamentally change America," are contrary to what I envision for this country. He has already had some measure of success in this, and given another term, I think we might not even recognize our country after 4 more years. I am not a fan of McCain, other than my personal respect for his integrity and wartime valor and POW actions. I still think hed be better than Obama. As far as Romney goes, well Im no fan, however, I learned my lesson about the two party system when Ross Perot ran and got Clinton elected. (At that time, I was unaware of Perot's liberal stances on gun control and abortion.) In any event, what i learned was that voting for a 3rd party candidate only helps the Dems as it normally takes away some of the Conservative supporters of the Repubs. This is a major reason why I think the Libertarians have it wrong. This and their naivety on many issues. For a conservative to cast a vote for anyone other than the Repub candidate is simply half a vote for the Dems, as it just takes one away form the Repubs. One thing to consider is that even if you agree that most of America is center right, the fact of the mater remains that the left is far more successful in getting people to vote. If the conservatives were nearly as good, i doubt there would even be a race. They are also usually more united than we are. How many conservatives have you heard say something like " I just CANT vote for Romney"? Then contrast that with how many libs have you heard say the same thing about Obama? Not near as many I bet. I kinda look at the situation as America is sliding down the slippery slope towards anarchy and worse. The Dems seem to want to hasten this process, while the Repubs, while not actually wanting to reverse it, like conservatives do, at least want to slow down the slide to the precipice. We need to work on getting TRUE conservatives in office at every level. Again, I don't see how any rational thinking person can vote for anyone other than Romney this time. Not quite as simple as the lesser of two evils analogy, but that does kinda fit.

I like a little of Staind but im just now discovering some of Aaron's you tube stuff. I like this one and last month I was shown another one by him that any father of a daughter would like. Here's that one: This is the acoustic version, and I dont thin k the full music version is nearly as good as this one.

Ditto on going to the door ready. I get some of those alarm salesmen at my door too, but not that late, usually within reasonable hours. I always wonder about their legitimacy. I'm thinking about taking their pictures from now on.

Sad that there won't be a fair trial. The DA already said in a press release early on that she wanted "justice for Trayvon"...NOT JUSTICE, but justice for Trayvon. ....also Eric holder's comments were equally inappropriate.
-
I like Hannity. I dont watch him every night, but he'a good guy. Seeing Zimmerman on his show last night confirms my opinion of him and the unfortunate incident with Trayvon. I hope Zimmerman wallks,

Guess if I'm wanted, I'll be parking in front of someone else's door.

Yep, remember those well. I also remember that he Germans used to make a killing off of "manuever" damage. A tank could roll across an empty dang field of mud and the owner would file a claim, lol.

Much truth here in what OhShoot said. They arent RINOS so much as not very conservative. But my butt will be out there voting for him all the same. Unless there is a rtrmendous groundsweel of support for a third partier, it is GONNA be either Mitt or Obama. I aint a huge fan of Mitt, but I'll take over Obama anyday!

AND doing what he thought was the right thing to do, even if it wasn't the the politically expedient or politically correct thing to do.
-
I agree with much of the sentiment here. I view him as a man with values and integrity and a sense of dignity for the office of the Presidency. Although I often disagreed with him, we have had, currently have far worse ones. I voted for him twice over his competition and would again. His two big fails, to me, was his immigration stance, and not being proactive enough defending against his detractors. What we have now is a complete absence of integrity.

State Rep. Kernell (Memphis) Robbed at Gunpoint
Defender replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
"I could not believe that after I'd been thrown to the ground, they took off my pants," Kernell said. Hmmm -
I take your point, and if I was in your store, I would abide by your wishes, but because of your policy, I would prefer to take my business elsewhere to a more "carry friendly" LGS. Just sayin...

I'd like to have a sign like that!

Beck Pretty upset about Supreme Court Ruling Worth a Look
Defender replied to JG55's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I echo MattCary's comment. Leroy's writings are very interesting indeed. I wondered yesterday if Roberts had caved or was crazy, or maybe crazy like a fox. I have a keen sense of what I believe to be right or wrong, and an understanding of sorts of our Constitution, but I will admit that it is sometimes confusing, and I DO know that there are way smarter people in this country than I am. I'm really hoping that Roberts is one of those, and that this isnt exactly how it is being perceived by most of us, and that Justice Roberts, looking at the big picture, is doing a greater service to our country in the long run by this ruling. -

I don't always use one, but I have found that a horizontal cell phone holder works well and has the added benefit that it looks like a...cell phone case, lol.
