Syria - Congressional Vote Tracker
Defender replied to MacGyver's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I'm a damn warmonger, and even I'M against this intervention! If there is no U.S. national objective to be met, then we should stay out of it. Chemical weapons, bombs, bullets...the dead people are dead regardless of how you kill them... like Jerry Clower said in one of his stories, "How do you kill a rattlesnake wrong?" -

Corker and Alexander, waffling as usual, then vote with Obama. -
Congrats! I couldnt work at a gun store I dont think... Funny story: Lonnie has passed away now, but Im sure he wouldnt mind me telling this. Several years ago, I went to the Greenbrier Guns & Leather store with a friend. My friend was friends with Lonnie, one of the workers there at that time. When he introduced us, I made a comment about how nice it must be to work at a gun store like he did. He replied, well, no, not really. He said every payday I have to track down Dennis, the owner. I said, Oh to get your paycheck? And Lonnie deadpanned, no, to find out how much I owe him! LMAO, that would be me if I worked at a gun store

One is known by the company one keeps. My momma told me that when I was a youngster. That applies to a company and the individuals that work there as well. How much do they sell to the civilian marketplace vs what they sell to government entities? Im afraid that TI has made some choices here, and I hope they can live with it. I rarely agree with DaveTN, and I dont in this case either.

Dang, I remember Sambos from when I was in high school in Red Bank! Used to love that place!

I took Lantus at one time but now on a novolog 70/30 mix of Fast acting and slow acting insulin in a prefilled syringe at about 85 units twice a day, and also Metformin in the largest dosage twice a day. Dr took me off of Glpiizide when I started the Novolog...I think your diosage of insulin might be highj, or something...I have to eat to make sure mine dont bottom out, but usually that just means a snack or two between meals...not constantly eating. Exercise and water are key to comtrolling it.

While I liked their music when they were fresh and hot, their political antics pissed me off. No longer a fan, and they got what they deserved

I picked up a like new Ipad 2 64Gig Wifi only model form a felklow TGO'er last year foir a reasonable price and I love it. Only regret is I kinda wish I had a cell version iuntsead of just wifi, but then that comes with a monthly price tag so...I dont want oit that bad...theres only been a dfew times really that I wished i had the cewll version...and I can tether it to my iphone 5 if necessary and get online that wqay...ive dont that a few times. If I had to do it again, Id probably do the same thinmg: get a large memory wifi only and everything Ive read about refurbed ipads is good

I like her a lot! How is it a fundraiser? Ive seen the flyer and all, but is admission charged or is a donation expected? Of so, how much? She not in my district but I would support her anyway, since her views mostly seem to parallel my own, and I figure we need people like her in the legislature...problem is I cant afford a lot.

I'm not old at all. My birthdate(1955) seems to be in error somehow though, and when I look at all my high school friends on Facebook, I see that all them have gotten old old, lol.

Calling all bikers!!! What do you have/had?!
Defender replied to whitewolf001's topic in General Chat
Don't have one now, but when I was in Germany in the USAF, I rode a Honda Goldwing...was a great bike to ride on the autobahns...could cruise up above 100mph, without feeling too frightened, lol. Though I can remember German bikers on crotch rockets would blast past me so fast I couldnt even tell what color the bikes were...I remember several times immediately looking down at my speedometer thinking I had inadvertently slowed down to like 40, lol. Nope, I was doing over 100...they were just flying...seemed like maybe double what i was going. -
Judges have too much power apparently, if they can do this. I find it, and them, contemptible...if they found ME in contempt, they could throw me in jail!

The clothing becomes the bomb??
Defender replied to Steelharp's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
There is virtually no real protection against those who are very willing or even eager to die for a cause. The left will just slowly erode our freedoms as long as we try to maintain this political correctness we are afflicted with, while the terrorists continue to adapt. We all know what the answer is, we just lack the b**** to go ahead and do it. -
Oh believe it! Its here too. Im in the employment business and Ive already seen it happening right here in Nashville. While it is NOT a law, (yet), they can make it a part of the contract, and the company that enters that contract actually has to agree with abiding by that policy...if they then dont, and the other side finds out, they can cancel or have other penalties invoked. The feds have been doing this for years...if a company into a contract with the federal government for $100,000.00 or more, there are MANY rules the company must agree to follow to get the contract award. The feds even have what they call the Office of Federal Contract Compliance in the USDOL that monitors that compliance, and even conducts inspections or reviews to insure said compliance is maintained. So does the company have to comply? Only if they want a very lucrative contract. The feds control us with money, in these type of contracts, but also, highway money, school money, and many others... they take form the people in taxes, then give some back if you follow their rules...all without even making a law!

I despise the media mostly. But sometimes getting this stuff out in public may cause an investigation that might have not been otherwise. Im sure the cops were purposely painted in as bad a light as possible, thats the way the media works. But I also admit that perhaps they acted prematurely in yanking her out of the vehicle that way, at least. No way they coulda suspected diabetic shock, but like others on here have already said, she could have easily had spinal or head injuries that would have been exacerbated by yanking her out like that...absent and threat of a fire, I think Id leave an unconscous person lay or sit til EMTs arrived. End result, it appears no permenant harm done, possibly a learning moment for all. One thing I WILL say, though, and this from a former LEO, I have seen all too many of my peers take some of this stuff too personally, tending to want to "punish" the suspect a little, rather than stay professional. I think its a natural tendency, probably human nature, especially after you get used to seeing too many guilty people get off. But it cannot be allowed to happen. Staying completely professional is the only way. And dont kill the cop for something like this, some good counseling can help. In these days, there is absolutely NO expectation of any kind of public privacy at all. So everyone should be prepared for their actions to be viewed, and viewed again and over analyzed. Not saying dont do the right thing, but am saying stay professional.
