Looking at the lists at Buds, out of stock, but they list 2...one has sig night sights, one has X-RAY3 Day/Night Sights...is there a difference? The one i looked at yesterday at my LGS had night sights with a green band around the front nighjt sight which I assume was to enhance daytime sightinmg...do thyey have 2 different kinds or is that just a mistake in the way Buds posted the ad>?

I want one...missed getting one yesterday at my LGS by just a few minutes as the last one sold right before I walked in. But I did get to finally fondle one so now i know i want it.

Anke Carry, my attempt at a review
Defender replied to A.J. Holst's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Great review! I have at least one high quality ankle holster and a couple lesser ones around here somewhere. Dont care for them. In those situations you describe, I currently pocket carry my .380 S&W Bodyguard. I carry in in my right pocket with two spare mags in a small pocket holster in my left pocket. Im hoping to figure out a way to replace the .380 with my 9mm S&W Shield though, soon. Theres got to be a way to carry inside the waistband with a tucked in shirt in such a manner that folks cant tell... -
I was in Mrs Countryman's 3rd grade class when she came in and told us President Kennedy had been killed..

I went with a Sig 5.56mm, gas piston AR Pistol with a 7.5 inch barrel, with a brace While I like it and plan on keeping it, additional research afterwards leads me to believe I should have went with a .300 blackout and a 9 or 11 inch barrel. Either way, though, I dont see the point of going the SBR route. For close in home defense or for use in a vehicle, the AR pistol seems perfect.

The market is crazy these days. House sales and rents have skyrocketed way past what they are worth. My daughter was looking for a place recently and couldnt find anything decent in a decent area that was affordable. Im a renter also, and have been in my house for I guess 18 years, My landlord is a low maintenance kinda guy, just fixed things that break, but not a lot of preventive maintenance other than the roof. BSo my house is a little run down in spots, but serviceable. The good news is he hasnt raisd the renbt but once in all those years and then onbly a year ago by 50 bucks. So I have a 3 bedroom house ina nice area with a huge fenced in back yard for a very affordable rate. I just hope he continues to apprciate the value of a tenant that has paid rent on time every month for 18 years over a fact buck form rainsing the rent.

Non-Permissive Environments and Improvised Weapons

I have a retired LEO friend in Minnesota, and he relays that in that state, you can drink while armed as long as you are not impaired, much like driving. -

I have a few of the "tactical" pens, and currently carry one from 5.11. This one looks a little less tactical and also seems better suited for actual use as well. I worry about it being confiscated by TSA though. I couldnt take it into the social security office, and that was ok as i just took it back to the car, but it was expensive enough to not want to give it up. Ive heard that if I mixed it in with other poens in a briefcase or bag, then they wouldnt catch it, but I hate to take a chance...any ideas? Also, what is their policy on flashlights? I could carry a tactical flashlight instead. -

congrats on the job. I just bought a 2018 kia sportage ex. Decided what to buy by doing research and knew what I wanted when I walked into the dealership. They didnt have what I wanted at rivergate so i went to antioch. Had a crap salesman who didnt know his product at all. If I hadnt already decided before I fgot there, i woulda walked out on him. He didnt try to upsell me, but he just winged answers to my questions that were simply incorrect. His loss as therewere two models( and ex and a higher end sx) i had picked out and wasnt sure which one...i ended up buying the cheaper of the two, and he coulda easily sold me the higher end one by only being honest. He actually undersold me and i should be careful when I say honest. I dont think he lied, but he didnt know the answers and rather than saying that and finding out, he just said what he though, which wasnt factual. In the end, Im happy with the ex I boiught, but i probably would sprung for the sx just to get the extra bells and whistles. So, yeah, best advice, be honest and learn your product.

Two-Way Radio Communications (Basics)

I just ordered the Baofeng Uv-82HP from Amazon. 50 bucks including all the accessories plus same day delivery! It includes the cable and software for programming, so I need to do some research today to see whats available in my area (Goodlettsville, right outside Nashville, near Hendersonville). I will get my licence(s) asap, but will just listen after I program it until I am legal. I've long wanted into HAM radio, so if I like it as much as I expect I weill, i'll get more radios as i grow into it. Anyone in this area have any suggestions on the exams and classes and frequencies? -
DVOR site today has a flashlight sale. They have the Fenix pd35 tac 1000 lumen for 52 bucks and the Klarus XT11GT HD Rechargeable Tactical Flashlight - 2000 Lumens, Black, KLARUS-XT11GT for 68. I’ve not heard of the klarus before but it sounds good, looks like it comes with a rechargeable but can also use disposable batteries and the 2000 lumens sounds really good...anyone have any thoughts on these?

This type social engineering frosts my a$$. The utter gall of these globalists just infuriates me! Dicks tried this crap after the Sandy Hook shootings, and I havent spent a dime in Dicks since then. Did my lack of patronage matter to Dicks? Probably not, but they still arent getting my money, cuz it matters to me, at least. Just like I dont go to places that ban guns unless I almost have to. Ive long heard that some of these banks make it difficult to be a FFL anyway. As was reportedly once said by a patriot, "we must hang together, or we will surely hang separately!" ,

which bill is that? I want to track it...

Welcome! The HCP process is pretty straightforward and usually doesn't take too long. The LEOSA process, on the other hand, in my opinion, can be. Tennessee seems to make the process so difficult and seems to encourage retired LEOs to just use a HCP instead of LEOSA. The guy at the state I talked to on the phone who ran the program and was affiliated with TN POST, flat out told me "to just get a HCP, thats what most retirees do!" He then offered me a reduced cost TN only LEOSA qualification credential for A longer poeriod than the one year LEOSA qual document. But that one is only good in TN. Im not sure why they are this way. Anyone else had better experiences, please share with us.
