  1. As someone who has carried a loaded M-16 for work for many years in a variety of environments and terrain, I certainly understand the problem. Carrying with a round in the chamber but on safe does pose some dangers when crawling or in the woods or whatever. Accidental discharges can happen that way even if you keep your finger off of the trigger. Its not like a pistol where the weapon stays safely holstered until needed. The rifle is carried and slung and put down, etc, repeatedly. It requires constant checking of the safety. So I see the point of this. So I guess it depends on the situation. It does seem like a faster way to chamber a round but the negatives of this device to me seem to outweigh the positives.

    S&W .380 EZ

Im think this might be the gun to ease my wife into the sport with. Took her shooting the other day and the only gun she shot that she liked was a .22, due to the light recoil. Micro ,380s, 9mms and 45acps she didnt like. This might be the ticket if felt recoil is light enough for her...

    S&W .380 EZ

Anyone shot this yet or know much about it?
  4. I want out, but the prices of houses these days is a big inhibitor.
  5. I don t share the opinion of many that growth is a great thing...Ive been coming to Nashville all my life, being a Tennesseean, and have been living in this area full time since I retired form the military in 93. It wasnt the same Nashville when I moved to this area in 93, but it sure was a dang site better than it is now. I dont see one positive thing all this growth has done for the area. I see only bad things. People move here form all over and bring their own ideas and they dont seem to mesh well with many of us, but there numbers seem to rule. The recent Mayoral race was a case in point. Almost everyone one I knew didnt like or plan to vote for Briley, yet he won...lowest voter turn out in ages. Anyway, back to Ikea. I see no loss here, but that area will continue to grow and our infrastructure sim ply wont support it.
  6. Just had to comment...the title of this thread sure is funny!
  7. I agree...Insight, not so much, at least that one anyway. I hardly ever hear anything negative about CT. This is the only onew I have, but I wouldn't mind having more.
  8. I have the model that came with the Insight laser. I had issues with it form the beginning. The battery would drain really quick. Sent it back to S&W the first time and not sure what they did besides replace the batteries. Sent it off again a few weeks ago after readiung on a web site that they would replace the entire laser with a Crimson Trace model at no cost. Contact their customker service and confirmed that, removed the laser form the gun and mailed it back. Got a new CT model in the ,ail about 3-4 weeks later. Drop in installation and it seems fine.
  9. Before taking the thieves to jail when caught, they should be subject to a good asswhipping. And make jail so bad and hard that they wont wanna go back, prison same. Hard and tough isn't the same as ""cruel and unusual punishment constitutionally.
  10. Although Im retired from the military and have a retired ID card, I went ahead and got the VA ID card just in case. It took about 2 month and was free and painless. You have to upload a picture and your dd214 after filling out the online app. They will email you status each step of the way.
  11. Welcome. This is a great site for knowledge, finding/selling guns and gear, and friendship.

    CMP 1911’s

Plus prices seem way too high as well.
  13. Wonder if they would say which batch, other than waiting to see if mine breaks,..
  14. All interesting, but I'd really like to figure out some rear sights that suit me better. Thats only thing Id change at this point. Ill have to do some research on the 320 sights and see if that migfht work for me...Thanks,.
  15. Lordy, I hope not...
  16. Thanks. I was actually hoping they were not, lol. I have a harder time acquiring the rear sights compared to the front. Maybe later on after its been on the market for a while, there will be some aftermarket rear sights that are easier rot see.
  17. Am I right that the rear sights are regular night sights?I love the front sight, the rear, not somuch...
  18. Good to know, lol, i was ready to toss it in the trash when i got home. I'll try again with better ammo. I think S&W are turning out some decent guns again these days...
  19. Back to the range today for another few hundred round, both JHP and FMJ. No issues at all. Small guns are not exactly fun to shoot for me, but this one isnt bad at all. The new 12 round mags i got made a huge difference in my ability to grip the weapon. They made me shoot netter too. Only thing I noticed was that the front sight is very easy to acquire, but the rear sight was not. Mine has the xray sight on front and reg sig night sights on rear.
  20. First, the Bersa. I have a Bersa 9mm Thunder Pro that shoots like dream. Heavy double stack, but VERY reliable. The .22 not so much. Was using cheap bulk ammo, but almost every other round failed to eject and feed a new round. Shots that fired were pretty accurate for a short barrel, but lordy, it was a pain to have to keep trying to make it eject properly. Disassembly and cleaning was easy. The S&W Victory, now what a sweet firing gun. Using the same bulk ammo, if fird, ejected and fed like its supposed to, with nary a single hiccup through 200 rounds. I have the one with the threaded barrel for a can I dont have yet, and the sights on this one are fiber optic front and rear. VERY easy and quick to acquire a sight picture. Id love to have these sights on other guns. Suck to have to use a tool to field strip, but cleaning still easy once you use the tool. Cant wait to get a suppressor for this one.
  21. Well, if so, I can live with that. I just want to make sure that its normal for this gun. I plan for it to be my EDC after my second firing session this coming Saturday.
  22. Question for others that have this gun: Although mine shot very well at the range, the slide sure appears VERY tight, especially when you first start to rack it. This is why I thought a might have failure to go into battery issues, but i did not. Its so tight that i bet those with arthritis or some women might not even be ABLE to rack it. IS this normal? Im taking it back to the range Saturday to put a few hundred more rounds through it, and if I have no issues, it will become my EDC weapon. Any comments form owners?
  23. Steal her car keys!
  24. Took it to the range today. I was a little concerned, reading of many failures to return to battery, and the slide on mine is way tight! But I shot over 200 rounds with nary an issue! I found it quick to get a sight picture, triggervwas great, and I could hold on to it just fine with e stock ten round mags. I’ve got 5 more mags, 12 rounders, coming in Monday or Tuesday. Because of the issue I saw online, I’m still not ready to trust it as an edc, so next week, I’m putting another couple hundred rounds through it and if that works out I’ll be carrying that sucker every day! BTW, the mags are expensive most everywhere, but I got some 12 round mags at brownells.com for 35.99 each.
  25. I agree, I didnt buy there because of that. I bought one for significantly less at one of my regular shops today instead. . I coulda waited and maybe got it cheaper later, but the shop I got it at coulda sold it for more and got away with it, but diidnt. I want to go shoot it tomorrow. I'll post a range report afterwards.
