  1. Creedence Clearwater Revival’s Greatest Hits
  2. I have a macro 17 round magazine that I installed a Tactical Development XMA plus 2 base pad on a while back and have kept it as a backup mag. Yesterday I went to take rounds out and discovered that the spring was stuck all the way compressed and the rounds all just shook out. As I shook it, the spring decompressed and sent the follower part way thru the top of the mag. I was able to get the follower out but the spring is still stuck in the mag. I tried disassembling the floor plate but while I was able to get the part off that is secured by a set screw, I couldn’t get the base pad off. I asked tacdev on their website but haven’t gotten an answer. Anyone have any ideas on how to get the floor plate off and also why this happened? Whenever Sig releases their Fuse 21 round mag for public consumption I will certainly buy a couple. The reason I did this mod was I have a tacdev regular base pad and I really like it and the way it feels in the hand as well as it looks good. When I decided to get another one, the plus two looked appealing and I said why not.
  3. Well, despite my earlier post about me not using BOSs, this jogged my memory a bit. I had a Colt Combat Commander stolen several years ago that I had bought from my operations officer while I the USAF in the 80s. he gave me a BOS and I filed it away. Flash forward to many years later and the gun was stolen, I did a police report. Several years after that, I got a call from a gun buyer that he ran the gun on the stolen guns web site and it came back stolen and my number listed. He gave me the cell number of the guy selling it. I immediately called the police, Nashville Metro PD to see how to go about getting it back. During my back nd forth with the detective, he asked if I had a BOS or a receipt and I said probably somewhere but I have no clue if I could find it. All he did was call the cell number and told them I just want my gun back and wouldn’t press charges. Of course they said what gun, LOL. He took no further action, and I never got my gun back. I wonder if he would have done more if I had my receipt? Oh and guess what, I ran across that receipt last week, LOL.
  4. My view on this has evolved over time. I used to want one as I thought it protected me, and the other guy, but then, after realizing just how bad the fed gummit is, I don’t use them myself, and won’t buy if one is required, unless it’s something I really really want at a good price. I mean, if I’m going to leave a paper trail, I might as well buy new.
  5. Agree. I will!
  6. That’s exactly what I need, but the issue I have with Walmart and mail order is I don’t know what size works with my light. I may just take a stab at it though. I’ve always thought these holster were trash, but like I said in my original post, I found a good use for them. Thanks for the recommendation.
  7. I carry a Sig P-365x macro variant. I’m fixed on EDC holseters for it but often, at home I’m just wearing gym shorts so I like to put in in one of those el cheapo nylon holsters that have a spare magazine pouch at the front with a strap and another strap across the top of the gun. I use it on the chair beside my recliner and on my bedside table. Now, I have one that’s ok for the gun during the day, but at night I slap on a weapons light and I would like to store it in that configuration on my bedside table. I’ve been to academy because they carry these cheap holster, but no joy on mine. Anyone have Anya suggestions on where I might find one? I prefer in person store as I’m worries a about fit.
  8. Hey we could take the money out of what we send to Ukraine!
  9. Ive got a Holosun 507k MRS Green dot That I had on my sig 365XL for a little bit. Not sure what I want for it, but Im also open to trades but, alas, dunno what im looking for.
  10. I hope you guys love your knives and that I regret not getting one! I just didn’t like this one. I guess my main thing is I already have too many knives in the safe plus one I like for an EDC. Add in that I couldn’t make myself love this one and so there you go. I’ve regretted not buying one before. But I do hope y’all love yours.
  11. If you want to see a snapshot of us after a few more years of dem rule, follow Tommy Robinson or Katie Hobbs on X or wherever. England is done! I lived there for 7 years as a young adult, and while I thought it somewhat liberal then, now it’s crazy.
  12. I’ve lived in that area.
  13. Man I keep forgetting about that one! I’m going this week!
  14. I’ve got a Saige 12 semi-auto 12 ga but it stays in my safe mostly. Home defense shotguns are a 8+1 12 ga Mossberg pump Persuader, no stock, just pistol grip, and a Mossberg 20 ga Shockwave pump.
  15. Well said. I’m just 5 minutes from the Goodlettsville Gun Shop, and after that the nearest open shop is Guns n Leather in Greenbrier. I’ve bought guns there and have also bought several at the Goodlettsville shop. I’ve found staff ok at Greenbrier and pretty good at Goodlettsville, but really looking forward to the Outpost reopening in Hendersonville. Hope they are good. The last time I felt really good about a gun shop was at the one in Hermitage, the Gun Crew. I could browse there or just sit and have a cold drink and talk guns. No range or gunsmith, but I liked them. They always gave me a good price when buying a gun. Alas, they only really do shows and online stuff now. There was another one on Rivergate Parkway for a while, can’t remember the name but ran by a former Navy Chief, Dave, and he had an awesome crew that were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
  16. Yes, but want to go back again.
  17. I stopped by today. Too out of the way for me to go to regularly without something more than I saw today to draw me. Hopefully the Hendersonville location will open soon. Right now I’ve got the Goodlettsville Gun Shop really close and I buy a lot from there, but I would like some local variety close by.
  18. I spoke to them yesterday on the phone about the Hendersonville store reopening and had not realized until then that not only do they own that store, but have also bought the old Nashville Gun & Knife Store in Belle Meade. Nor did I know they had bought the old gun store in Franklin right off I-65 in the old Uncle Buds restaurant, Speaking of Hendersonville, I drive by there regularly and have noticed that rebuilding seemed to be taking a while since the tornado damage a while back. The guy told me they had experienced issues with the insurance company that has delayed the progress of rebuilding. I may run out to the Harding Rd store today to check it out.
  19. I hadn’t heard that. Reckon he will be as Rhino as Bill Lee?
  20. While I’m glad that they broke up the 5th and ended the dems (Jim Cooper) stranglehold on it, I am not real happy in my move from the former 5th to the 6th, and John Rose. John may be good, but seems like he has little interest in his new constituents to his west, I.e. former 5th residents. Maybe it’s just me, but, living in Goodlettsville, a ‘suburb’ of Nashville, I’m more concerned with things that impact living in this area than the rural area that John Rose is used to representing. I feel disenfranchised. No, I won’t vote for a Democrat, LOL, but just wish they had carved up the district a little differently. Guess you can’t please verbose, though. And I do realize the difference between Tennessee reps and U.S. reps, LOL.
  21. I wholeheartedly agree. But if I’m seeing innocent people being slaughtered and I can help, I could run away.
  22. You are right, I think. But there ARE situations where a little more distance shooting may be required and the dots come in handy then.
  23. I like sticky holsters. I have one for several of my guns. I don’t pocket carry much anymore since I retired, but when I do pocket carry my Ruger LCP Max, it’s in the sticky holster. They make one specific to most guns and unlike several other pocket holsters I’ve used over the years, the holster stays in your pocket when you need it to. I keep a gun in different rooms of my house and also use pocket holsters for those guns too, to help protect them.
  24. I had a Tacoma in the 90's when they were still small. Too small. Sold it cus we had a baby and it was impractical with only 2 doors. Went with SUVs for a while. Right before retiring i got the truck bug really bad, but the used market had jumped and the new prices were crazy. I test drove a Ranger and just didn't like how rough t rode. I liked the looks of the Maverick. A fiend has one in a hybrid and he loves his. I rode in it and it was...ok. Then I saw a used one at Carmax and test drove it. It was a hybrid too, but I hated it. The feel of it just didn't feel good to me and it seemed very small inside and the bed seemed small too. They also had a 2019 Honda Ridgeline on the lot. I drove it and right away knew this was the one for me. Mine is the RTL-E and has all the bells and whistles. Drives like a car, handles really well and very smooth riding. Its way bigger inside than the Maverick and the bed is decent too. I bought it in November 2023 and still love it. I've added some accessories like a Tonneau cover and made a few mods. I don't tow, though it has a hitch, nor do i go off road with it, but Im expecting the AWD to do good in the snow when we get some. Another thing I like is that is has a trunk in the bed that holds a LOT, in addition to the spare tire. The trunk can also be used for tailgating to put your beverages and ice and it has a drain plug for to drain it. Not really important to me but it also has bed speakers. The new Maverick looks sportier on the outside, but to me the inside trim still looks cheap, even on the higher trim levels. Biggest drawback so far to me is the infotainment system seems a little glitchy at times, and it doesnt have that 'truck' look. Mine is reasonable high up off the ground but still not a chore to climb into. Way higher than the Mavericks though, which I like when driving in traffic as I can see better.
