The cold hard light of lethargy!
Defender replied to Worriedman's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I agree. I get so angry at my reps that I want to curse them, which I know is counterproductive. When TFA posted on their site a sample letter a while back on a gun related issue, I used it and sent it to my reps, but living in Davidson county, I’m sure it fell on deaf ears, or rather, blind eyes. Worried ma, does it do any good to send emails to other than ones own reps? -
And that fence didnt seem to do much good, either.

Pepper spray recommendations
Defender replied to lock n' load's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I keep reading about some people seemingly able to power through being pepper sprayed, but I dont understand that. As part of a qualification with it once I had some applied to my cheeks and i was completely incapacitated! -
I have an older one I have never really liked so I am not using it. I would really like to get one I like. One issue I have is I hate wires laying around.

Actually it should have shot down over the ocean as it approached the Alaskan coast.

Memphis PD Chief Davis Previously Fired for Coverup
Defender replied to DocHawk's topic in General Chat
Although I usually agree that the Police Chief is ultimately responsible for those under his/her command, I don't always go along with those who want the chief fired or forced to resign. In this case, this unit is her baby. She set it up without adequate supervision, and staffed it with LEOs that probably shouldn't even be LEOs. Two lessons here, at least. One, don't hire folks just because they tick a box on the equity spectrum. Two, figure out a better way to get more officers on the force without lowering standards. -
Memphis PD Chief Davis Previously Fired for Coverup
Defender replied to DocHawk's topic in General Chat
The more i read about this, the more I think lack of supervision allowed this to happen. Seems like though this might be the first one that died, there were other complaints. I truly think i understand the desire to meet violent thugs on their own turf with overwhelming violence in response to violence, but it just cant spill over into the general populace. But this kind of over response shouldn't have happened even if he had been a bad guy. -

Memphis PD Chief Davis Previously Fired for Coverup
Defender replied to DocHawk's topic in General Chat
I can’t believe she hasn’t been forced to resign already. This unit was her idea in the first place. -
Rumors abound. I heard one that said Tyre was sleeping with one of the officer’s wife and he was targeted for a beat down.

Can’t say much good about Nashville vs Memphis or other cities, but one thing they’ve done well the last couple years is release body cam/dash cam videos pretty dang quickly. Sometimes same day or next day. Granted, nothing as seemingly egregious as this case in Memphis, though.

I had a chance to tour their factory several years ago for work. It was impressive. Then later heard Ronnie Barrett speak in the Outpost Armory parking lot at a 2nd amendment rally. His story impressed me.

I’m curious about whether or not one could go through the free sir route, then replace the brace with a conventional stock. Some one else asked the same thing, but does anyone know for sure about this?

Interested in y’all’s opinion of her and her changed views on the 2nd Amendment, my first blush was not to trust a politician that fills, e specially on the second amendment. But, I am guilty of changing my mind s time or two in my life, well not really on the 2nd Amendment, but on other things. Increasingly, of late, I find myself watching her podcasts and liking many of the things she says. But in the back of my mind I find myself wondering, is it a trick? Is she for real?

If you bought the brace and pistol already factory assembled new from the gun store, doesn’t the ATF already know what you have? I know there’s laws against national gun registry, but I reckon they have that already and just call it something different. Fed govt is way out of control. I remember G. Gordon Liddy, back in the 90s, calling the ATF Jack-booted thugs. Lately, the FBI had been publicly revealed to have committed many crimes against the citizenry. I could go on and on. Time for some changes.

Defender replied to TNMTBik3r's topic in Firearms Classifieds
What gen is this Glock? Do you happen to know if one of the included pates will allow a 507k optic to be mounted? I know the c and k models have different footprints. -

I doubt we’re even that close! The volume of vehicles they want fully electric can’t be supported by our electricity grids. Look at California asking/demanding folks not charge their electric vehicles during peak periods, and the rolling blackouts we had last month. And they don’t seem to be upgrading the grid, at least not as fast as we are growing our needs. We just need to start immediately producing and refining our own oil. I remember a comment by Bill Clinton when he was president and asked why don’t we build more refineries in the u.s to hs,p with the cost of gas. His response was it would take 10 years. Dumbass.
