  1. Having recently added a RDS and grip module to my 365xl, I have become aware that I need a few tools to do gun maintenance. Specifically, some better quality hex tools than the ones connected together in one pkg, and maybe some small punches. Anyone have any recommendations as to what to look for and what to get? Picture shows one in a video along the lines of what I’m looking for.
  2. For those of you who are thinking about or have already upgraded your XL to the macro grip module, Tactical Development makes a base bad that converts your 12 round mags to work in the macro grip module. I installed mine yesterday and they fit and function perfectly. I think they look better than the stock base pads, plus they have a place to pull out if the gun in case they get stuck. Heres a picture of one of mine in and out of the gun. I had a bunch of 12 rounders and didn’t want to waste them or sell, so I bought a handful of adapters. Figured ya can’t have too many mags and I can always use them on range day. Also bought one plus 2 adapter to make one of my 17 rounders into a19 rounder. Figured I’d carry it as a reload. I really like TacDev products!
  3. I sometimes wonder how poorly designed websites continue to pop up like this. I probably see 2-3 a week. Im no web designer but i know how to hire someone to do it right.
  4. That’s a great idea. I’ve got probably 2 boxes of holsters.
  5. I’ve read that park rangers in that area advise people to wear noise producing devices such as little bells on their clothing to alert but not startle the bear unexpectedly. They also advise carrying pepper spray in case of an encounter with a bear. It is also a good idea to watch for fresh signs of bear activity and know the difference between black bear and grizzly bear droppings. Black bear droppings are smaller and contain berries and possibly squirrel fur. Grizzly bear droppings have little bells in them and smell like pepper spray.lol. I hope you find the right defense and don’t end up needing it, and have a great trip!
  6. Don’t care for metal music too much (ok I’m old, lol) but those are some powerful words right there, res308.

  8. I’ve made a few posts here and there on other threads so thought I’d post a picture of what I ended up with. I started with a Sig P-365XL Spectre (non-comp), the original one with the distressed finish. I bought some 15 round mags to fit and then some 17 rounders when they became available. I installed a Holosun EPS Carry with the adapter plate as they didn’t include the proper length screws. Got in my TacRig screws the other day, so just got through removing the adapter plate and reinstalling directly to the slide. Been lusting after a bigger grip module, so I picked up an Sig macro grip module from a member on here. I got some TacDev base pads to make my 15 round mags work with my macro setup, and a 17 round base pad that covers the whole end of the grip module. It looks and feels better than the stock Sig base pads that come on the mags. I ordered some base pads that convert my 12 round mags to work in the macro, and a ‘plus 2’ 17 round base pad that will convert a 17 round mag to a 19 round mag. Not sure what configuration I will actually EDC. I will have options of a 12 round in the gun (for maximum conceal ability) and either a 15/17/19 round reload, or I could do a 15/17/19 in the gun with 17/19 reload available. I like options, lol and I like lots of ammo ready to go. Aesthetically, the aluminum 17 round base pad I have and the plus 2 one I’ve got on order look very similar, both covering the whole of the grip. The plus 2 sticks out more. Here’s a picture of my new setup with the holosun eps carry and 17 round mag with the TacDev aluminum base pad installed.
  9. I git my proper length screws from TacRig. Going to remove the adapter plate today and reinstall the optic without the plate.
  10. I get my threads mixed up on here and am not sure this is where i need to post this but cant find the other one...anyway, I recently bought a Macro grip module after trying my 17 round mags in my XL Spectre. After I installed the macro, I didn't like the way the stock Sig base plates felt in my hand; the back had sharper edges than I like and didn't cover the whole grip. I ordered an aluminum base plate from Tactical Development that covered the entire bottom of the pistol grip when the magazine is in. Feels ever so much better. I also bought a bunch of their 15 round adapter base plates to convert all of my 15 round XL mags to the macro. I still may order some 12 round adapter base plates for my 12 rounders. One cant have too many magazines, right? Oh, and I had installed my EPS Carry using the adapter plate because the included screws were too long, losing the ability to co-witness. I ordered a set of the proper sized screws from TacRig and they came in today. Next project is to remove and reinstall without the adapter plate. I dont have any good hex wrenches. DOes anyone know if the little tool that Holosun provides is sufficient for the job? I checked and it fits perfectly with the Holosun screws and the Tac Rig screws. I just dont want to screw it up.
  11. I've heard 30.06 works pretty well. Just kidding...kinda.
  12. That's sad, Hipower. Ive lost many friends to PTSD including my best friend of many years who took his own life a few years back. He was a member here. Me and 2 other friends had to go into his garage and clean brains and blood off of his car and the garage floor after the police left. I served 20 years in the USAF. 73-93. I d0ont expect to be thanked for my service, and it actually makes me a little uncomfortable when it happens as i never know how to respond. But I can tell you that I readily recognize the difference between someone who comes up to be with a sincere thanks for my service and the ones repeating what they think they should say ort are told by their employer to say. The day before yesterday, while I was eating at a restaurant, an older lady did so and i was moved as i could tell she was sincere.
  13. I get it. These newer ones come with a proximity sensor that dims the light to prevent overheating and fires.
  14. Well, Olight gave me a discount code again, so I bought another Warrior 3S. I like the model and am starting to understand how to program.
  15. I really don't have a clear preference or much experience with trucks. I've owned a Ford F-100 and a Toyota Tacoma (when it was a small truck). I liked both, but were both really too small for me. I've long wanted a F-150, but lordy they get expensive. I admired Ford when it didn't take bailout money form the government. Recently got the truck bug again and went out looking for one. My cousin recently got his 2023 Ford Maverick hybrid that he ordered last year and he loves it. I admit I kinda liked it too, but I prefer a truck that sits higher. Anyway, I went to all of the Nashville area Ford dealers and got the shock of my life. First, you couldn't order a new truck until they 'open up'. Second they were all adding a 5000 bucks on top of sticker price, just because they can. Last time I bought a new vehicle, one could negotiate lower than sticker. Now its the opposite, apparently. Anyway, I looked at used at carmax, where I've bought several cars in the past, and their prices have usually been good. Well not for trucks. They want about as much for a late model used as the new ones. So now Im back to not getting a new vehicle. I drive a 2017 Kia Sorento, and so far, mine has been an awesome vehicle. Its fully loaded and I got it for less than half of what it went for new, a year and a half used with low mileage. So, I'm looking at retiring fairly soon and don't need a car/truck payment anyway, both mine and my wife's car are paid for, so a new truck for me will be a lottery buy after i win. Rob, hope you find what you want/need. keep us posted!
  16. Good question, and I’m in the same boat. I’m interested to see what TGO thinks.
  17. I installed my xMacro grip module (got from a TGO member) today on my 365xl Spectre slide and fcu. Love it! Changed all my 17 round mags back to flush fit. Ordered tactical development baseplates for my 15 round mags so they will work in my macro. Hope to get some range time in next week.thought about selling my xl grip module and several of the 12 round mags that fit it, but decided they don’t take up that much space so I may just hang on to them, just in case.
  18. While I agree he didn’t make smart comments, sheesh, they charged him? I don’t need police like that.
  19. I thought so too, but wondered when I saw in their site that you could order one with or without a stock. Their word not mine. I doubt I’ll ever really understand the crazy rules of the ATF. But if course, that what they count on.
