    FNX-9

Mine moves occasionally on my FNP-45 when I have it loaded and decocked and on safe. Sometimes i go to unholster it at the end of the day and find it ready to fire...Not a real problem tho unless it happened and I was carrying cocked and locked, which I don't. I don't think there is anything wrong with it, just that I move a lot, in and out of the car etc...
  2. I hate political campaigns more than politicians even. They will say anything. And after they win, win they do a 180, and are caught, it's ok because it was just a campaign promise. I don't knwo much about Haslam, but I imagine with his family money, he must be one of the strongets contenders. I agree with you, if he's weak on 2nd A issues, the word needs to be out there soon.

  4. I almost don't believe this, but the source is good. This will surely give anyone that already thinks the government is up to no good confirmation of their fears...like this is the way a radical limitation of our freedoms begins...food for thought. Nat President Obama's administration will unveil a new security strategy Thursday that places the focus on homegrown extremists and steps back from the Bush era's "war on terror" terminology. The administration is also likely to stress that U.S. military superiority must be matched by muscular diplomacy and all the tools of statecraft, from development aid to intelligence gathering. The new strategy comes amid a huge U.S. foreign military commitment in Iraq and Afghanistan, new terror threats and a world destabilized by the worst economic meltdown since the 1930s. It will be closely studied for signs Obama has adjusted his policy of offering dialogue to U.S. foes such as Iran and North Korea, which has yet to bear fruit, and will come against a backdrop of his bedrock nuclear non-proliferation effort. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will make a major speech Thursday at the Brookings Institution, laying out diplomatic and military aspects of the strategy, and national security adviser James Jones was due to weigh in later. For the first time, the government strategy document, which lays down a doctrine for national security policy -- and can impact defense spending -- is likely to focus attention on the threat posed by homegrown extremists. Following a spate of attacks or near misses -- at the Fort Hood, Texas, Army base last year and in Times Square, New York, this month -- the administration appears to have reframed the matrix of threats to U.S. national security. "We've seen an increasing number of individuals here in the United States become captivated by extremist activities or causes," said John Brennan, deputy national security adviser for counte-terrorism and homeland security. "The president's national security strategy explicitly recognizes the threat to the United States posed by individuals radicalized here at home," Brennan said Wednesday at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. "We've seen individuals, including U.S. citizens, armed with their U.S. passport, travel easily to terrorist safe havens and return to America, their deadly plans disrupted by coordinated intelligence and law enforcement." Faisal Shahzad, the top suspect in the failed car bombing in Times Square on May 1, is a naturalized U.S. citizen, who allegedly became radicalized after years in the United States and received training by Pakistani extremists. Maj. Nidal Hasan, an American-born Army psychiatrist who is the only suspect in the killing of 13 people at Fort Hood last year, was allegedly drawn to radical thought while serving in the armed forces. The new strategy comes as an unclassified Department of Homeland Security memo was revealed to show the number of attempted domestic attacks in the past nine months surpassed the number of attempts during any other previous one-year period. The DHS assessment, dated May 21 and reported on the CNN website late Wednesday, urged authorities to "operate under the premise that other operatives are in the country and could advance plotting with little or no warning." Brennan said that "unprecedented" pressure placed on al-Qaida since Obama took office has severely limited the group's ability to move, raise funds, recruit and carry out attacks. But he said the network was now relying on poorly trained "foot soldiers" who might be able to slip past U.S. defenses because they do not fit the conventional profile of a terrorist. "This is the new phase of the terrorist threat, no longer limited to coordinated, sophisticated, 9/11 style attacks," Brennan said. "As our enemy adapts and evolves their tactics, so must we constantly adapt and evolve ours." Brennan also appeared to deliver the White House's most explicit rejection yet of "war on terror" terminology favored by the former administration of George W. Bush, which drove U.S. foreign policy for years after the 9/11 attacks. "The president's strategy is absolutely clear about the threat we face. Our enemy is not terrorism because terrorism is but a tactic. "Our enemy is not terror because terror is a state of mind and, as Americans, we refuse to live in fear. "Nor do we describe our enemy as jihadists or Islamists because jihad is holy struggle, a legitimate tenet of Islam meaning to purify oneself or one's community." Brennan said that Obama envisaged using the full arsenal of diplomatic, military, developmental, law enforcement, intelligence and homeland security powers available to a U.S. president.
  5. I have one...bought it used, looks like crap but very reliable actually for such a cheap gun. I wouldnt carry it for defense purposes but its fun to shoot. I don't like all the safeties on it and have read about a mod to remove the one I like least, so I may try that one. I'd say wait for a screamin used deal and pick up one on the cheap.
  6. I sent an e-mail to every one of our reps in the state legislature. Got back about 10 replies so far from some of the usual suspects claiming they will support an override on the veto. Also got the below reply as well. Those of you from his district may want to let him know how you feel about this issue. Thank you for contacting our office. Your input is important to us and we appreciate your comments. This is indeed an important issue. I will keep this in mind when deciding how to vote on this and please let me know in the future if you have a concern or if I can assist you in any way. Very Best Regards, Representative Dale Ford
  7. I love mine. Got one of their products for pistol mags and another one for the AK. They are one of those items that, although not necessary, but sure make things easier!
  8. I don't know how in the world it got through. I'm reading The Federalist Papers now again, and have recently finished Newt's book on Washington's crossing of the Delaware and the battle right after. Absolutely facinating, but again, how they did it ALL is amazing. I agree with Lagerhead in that some of them KNEW or feared that the Federal Govt would become what it is now. This was the biggest argument against it. One thing about ole George though, not only did he have an incredible ability to lead men, he also had a way with words. I'm reminded of a quote I have from him on my wall at work,"Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence. To secure peace, security, and happiness, they rifle and pistol are eually indispensable, The very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference - they deserve a place of honor with all that is good."
  9. Ran across this online and thought I'd share it, lol. Are Tinfoil Hats Less Ridiculous Than We Thought?

  20. I also like that method for carry, except I dont usually carry right aAT 6...more to the right a little, maybe 5 or even f...but it feels much more natural for my wrist that having the handle the opposite way.
  21. I knew Col Kittinger back in the mid 70's. He was the vice Wing Commander of the 48th TFW, of which I was a a part. To be honest, I don't remember hardly ANY Vice Wing Commanders from my USAF career, but I remember HIM well! he was a larger than life Colonel, even at that age. I remember many times when we were playing those infamous "War Games" that the Fighting 48th was so well known for, the AF cops caught the worst of the duty, putting in many long hard hours on the flightline, longer than anyone else. Colonel Joe was there with us, at all hours of the day and night, with an encouraging word. He was gruff, always had a bit up cigar stuck in his mouth, but always did what he could to make our lives easier and we all liked him...I can still remember standing with him on the taxiway watching the "elephant walk" as just about everyone of our fighters took off on simulated combat runs after a week of hell.
  22. I could support him, and would if he got the nomination, but he isn't my first choice at all. Also, I heard Raplh Bristol on WWTN 99.7 this morning put in better words something I've been saying since I realized that I helped Bill Clinton get elected by voting for Ross Perot. He siad, and I'm paraphrqasing here, that "if you are a conservative, and you vote for an Independent instead of for the Republican nominee, if you then think you are helping make America more conservative, then you are fooling yourself. You are only really helping the liberals get more power." I'm not a Republican myself, at least philosophically, but I think that Ralph was right. What we need to do is encourage and support the truly conservative candidates so they get the Republican nod, then elect them. At the same time, the liberal Repubs must be swayed to become MORE conservative.
