  1. I have my LEOSA credential issued by the USAF and it is lifetime. It was a grueling process but they did do that, for a hefty fee that is. My issue is I retired from the USAF, with my last base being out of state, well out of country, but the issue is getting LEOSA paperwork signed so that the range will let me qualify and send my paperwork to the state. The POST commission is so difficult with this stuff that many Leo’s tell me they don’t even bother. They just go the HCP route. On the plus side, the state dept of safety were resistant to giving me a lifetime retired LEO enhanced permit, but I was able to make contact with one of the handgun units senior people and after I explained the catch-22/almost impossibility of getting the LEOSA range paperwork signed, he made the lifetime LEO permit happen, so I’m very, very thankful for that. But as you know, there are places that the HCP won’t cover and places that the LEOSA credential won’t cover, so the best bet is to have both if you can. Once you retire from the military, all the contactsbstartbtomevaporate and it’s different than keeping up with local contacts. Heck, all my contacts were in Germany when I retired, and only dealt with the LEOSA USAF folks via emails. They in San Antonio and are under contract with the USAF. They are all retire also, so they tried to be helpful, but more so If you were local to them probably. Anyway, that’s the story, LOL.
  2. Are they showing up yet in stores?
  3. No no, I was just asking. I see the differences now. I was drugged up in the hospital when I posted my first response. like it and I think it looks very cool.
  4. Yeah I was trying justify in my head the costs of lifetime vs 8 year, when the state solved it for me. I got a free retired lifetime LEO permit. I guess the state feels bad for making it difficult to get the LEOSA credential firing card so they figured this makes up for it. LOL. So I have a no expiry LEOSA card and a lifetime retired LEO permit. I would like to get a range card but…
  5. I could use that for sure! Mine got rusted somehow and I need a new one.
  6. Nice! Do you need to get ok from TGO David to use it?
  7. You’re right, prices are gonna shoot up. Instead of sending all this money to Ukraine, maybe we could spend it on our own border security and infrastructures. Just saying…
  8. Had this done I guess year before last. Hope yours is different but mine still hurts and LED me to a broken ankle, in hospital now. Hope you gets better soon, but bear in mind it may still hurt even after extensive physical therapy.
  9. Well, turned 69 last month. Last few years have faced some health issues, and as a result of some of them, docs have been adjusting my meds. Long story short, some of these adjustments have resulted in dizziness snd falls, which aren’t fun for anyone, but especially not fun for seniors, LOL. Anyway, Monday morning I got up from my chair to go to the bathroom, had a dizziness issue and was out before I hit the ground. I woke up and asked my wife where I was, I had no clue. She had to call 911 to get me to the ER. I couldn’t use my left leg at all due to pain in knee and excruciating pain in ankle. Eventually get to ER at Skyline in Madison, nowhere I was treated very very well and professionally by all of the medical staff. Turns out I broke 3 bones in my ankle and tore the miniscus in my knee in two or three places. Had surgery last night to install a plate and pins/screws. The dr and staff in surgery were great, The nurses and staff up here in the floor have been awesome. My nurse today, who I won’t name, was especially awesome all day. He is a German immigrant, he’s the kind of immigrant that built this country. Wish we could get more like him here. Anyway, I guess I won’t be shooting for a shill. I’ve 4-6 weeks of not shooting , followed by a lot of pt.
  10. I have both. I like green way better than red. I prefer the big circle with the dot in the middle, so even if im shooting at a green target in green grass, I can still hit the target. Same with lasers, I prefer green or blue over red. I read that for most folks there’s age and vision issues that may make green a better choice over red, but ultimately, it varies for most.
  11. Ive been carrying on or of duty daily for all of my adult life. Over the years I've ran the gamut, from .45ACP 1911s, Commanders, and a FNP-45 with 15+1, down to a pocket 380. Currently, my EDC is usually a Sig P-365XL/Macro/Spectre (non-comp) with a 12 round mag and a 19 round spare mag, and on rare occasions I cant carry that, I carry a Ruger LCP Max ,380. All mags filled with Hornady Critical Defense for the most part/
  12. we use 360. Got when the girls were teenagers and venturing out with friends. Still have it, but don't really track much, never the girls unless they're on the way here or something and I'm looking for an arrival time maybe. Same with wife, she is notorious for listening to youtube crime programs and dont hear if anyone calls. So if she running late, i may look to see how close she is, but really thats rare. I dont re4ckon we really need 360 anymore,
  13. I wore the rubberish ones from my first Apple watch on, until i got the Apple Watch Ultra 2. With it, i got the trail loop. Yes, its fabric but it seemed to hold up well. I then wanted to try a different color but wasnt willing to pay Apple 99 bucks so i found one on amazon in a color i wanted, black for less that 10 bucks and its as well made and durable as the Apple version.
  14. I remember reading one time about a case in Tennessee where someone used to carry a golf club on walks for protection. Can’t remember all the details of the cas neut seems like he used it and admitted to carrying for self defense, and was charged for carrying a weapon. In another case it was a baseball bat in a car or truck that was used, and someone said if you carry a ball bat in your truck, make sure you also carry a glove and ball, LOL. It’s sad kinda that less lethal isn’t a legal option before firearms use.
  15. I carry a fairly basic first aid kit in my truck with narcan also. I was trained in the military many years ago on basic first aid for battlefield trauma but I have forgotten a lot, maybe most of it by now. If needed, I’d do my best. When i was in Germany, every vehicle was required to have a standard first aid kit and motorists were required to stop and render aid.
  16. Books on Pipes & Tobacco. I smoked pipes for years and have several books on the topic. These predate the internet, and I found them very interesting. Some historical and educational. Only really interesting to an avid pipe smoker. I’ll offer them up free to any pipe smoker who wants them.
  17. Price drop. Price drop. BNIB never fired, unless the factory test fired. Comes with the original magazine, paperwork and original box. For those not familiar, these are a 9mm carbine that folds to a compact size, fits in a smallish bag. More pictures available on request. Prefer cash but open to trades, if you have something that strikes my fancy. Only selling because I wound up with two.
  18. I saw Meatloaf there right after Bat Out if He’ll 2 came out, but the show was 1 mostly. One of the best concerts I ever saw.
  19. I forgot about those! Me too.
  20. When Im home, I usually wear a t-shirt and pajama pants so carry is impractical. I put my EDC and spare mag in a nylon holster that I just carry around. It also sits on my nightstand along with a Governor and a shield. I also have my LCP Max on a shelf out of sight and a 20 gauge in my office. Rest are in safes or gun cabinets. I do stash filled mags for the shield and my EDC throughout the house as well. There’s at least 2 spare mags in every room.
  21. I really regret selling the one I had years ago. At the time I wanted something I couldn’t ford without selling that first.
  22. I just ran across a YouTube video review/comparison of the newly announced Holosun SCS Carry vs the EPS Carry. I have the EPS Carry MRS Green and really like it, but I think I like the new one better. I may change out when it becomes available. Here’s the review I saw:
  23. He was a character for sure. Loved his milk commercials.
  24. I’ve got 2 mags to offer up. I sold the pistols these go to and no longer have contact with buyer. I’d prefer these go to someone on here that owns the guns they go to, not someone looking to resell. 1. One .25 cal mag I bought to fit a Titan .25 cal pistol. 2. One S&W .380 cal mag for S&W Bodyguard BG-380. I'm in the Goodlettsville area, kinda near Rivergate.
