    Remington 597

Sounds like you got a good deal
  2. Can anybody identify the rifles these ladies are holding? I clicked on the pic but, still couldn't tell.
  3. "Alright now, we got you surrounded. Come out with your hands up". "Ahh you'll never take me alive coppers, now see".
  4. Very nice. A friend of mine had a one of those. Not as nice as yours though.
  5. Pretty girl with a Mauser. Probably got hairy armpits though.
  6. I've not hunted squirrels seriously in years but, when the leaves were on thick always used a shotgun. Either a 16 gauge or 12 gauge with usually 6 shot. In the Fall/Winter loved using a .22 with hollow points.
  7. I saw a documentary about Johnny Cash once and he supposedly helped them out in the business . He said they were one of the best quartets he'd ever heard, and they deserved to be heard.
  8. Now that's a Mosin 38. At least I think so.
  9. Don't worry I'm wrong a lot.
  10. Are you sure? I know you can't see it great in the pic but, looks like a Mauser cage type bayonet lug. You also can't see a Mosin single stack mag floorplate either.
  11. Cool video. I guess if you call a bird in, it might not be yours. Lol.
  12. Yeah, we lost a good one in Stevie.
  13. I wonder what Country this kid/soldier is from? Looks like he's holding a Mauser 98 style rifle.
  14. I think my mother would eat it with eggs and just as greens with a meal.
  15. Seems like all I can call in is jakes or coyotes. Called in a coyote this evening about 5:00 but, couldn't get a shot. Never heard any gobbling.
  16. My mother loved it. I could never as a kid get over the smell of it cooking
  17. Vietnam exactly
  18. I heard a guy on the radio a few years ago talk about the gulf war. He said what was wrong with this war was there was way to much media coverage on it. The people here at home see way to much. That's one of the reasons very little gets done.
  19. People say that turkeys are dumb, maybe the frozen grocery store breeds but, not the average wild turkey. Well maybe jakes......
  20. Does anybody know if they will ever import any more Mosins?
  21. Alright! You may be hooked now. Congratulations.
  22. I agree on the .357 for $100 less. Some people hate the revolvers in auto calibers. I watched a Yankee Marshall video about this. He just don't get it at all. Basicly he said if you want a 9mm, .40 or .45 get it in an auto. I don't have a problem with them. If you like'em go for it.
  23. They ain't been gobbling a lot for me. Heard a few yesterday morning but, everything this morning is way off. Nothing close.
  24. I killed one Saturday and another Sunday. I've called in 6 jakes since then. No more longboards. Have not heard much this morning yet.
  25. Wow, this thread is as dead as a turkey in the freezer. Anybody killed one?
