Yeah, but we have better alternatives now. The soldiers in WW2 and Korea didn't. I would load 47.0-48.0 gr. IMR4895 or something similar behind a 150 gr.

Your last paragraph grabbed my attention hard. If the intruder holds a gun on you while he robs you, you really might take that as a serious threat. Say you got to a gun and got the drop on him, and shot him. Then what?

I put a long eye relief scope on mine the other day but, haven't got to shoot it yet. Scout type on rear sight base. Nothing that I can't put back to original later.

I like it. I saw one at the Sparta gun show a few years ago. It was not an original though but, had been built by a guy that definitely knew what he was doing. It had a bayonet too.

I've got some on enblocs but, a lot of it won't fire. It's all corrosive, and I'm not shooting it in my M1. I know they did it back in the day. But, it's not back in the day anymore.

I knew the casted bullets looked pretty big. I thought shotgun slugs. Yeah. the hammer handle really looks like something turned on a lathe. I've done a couple like that.
