  1. I used to work in a machine shop with a guy that built them on Remington and Savage actions with Pac-Nor barrels. He said they would knock you d--- in the dirt.
  2. I'm the same way when I coyote comes through. I shot one 2 years ago during turkey season. He ran off 2 toms that were about 60 yards out and coming in. To bad I used a $2.00 shell though. I keep saying I'm gonna try calling coyotes again sometime.
  3. I used to cut the parts apart and sometimes if it looked like it needed it, I would sand. I always glued the parts together and then painted. At least if several parts were gonna be the same color. It's hard to glue parts together when they've been painted. Unless you sand the surfaces that join. I've had parts that didn't fit together well and had to sand a little and keep trying it till it looked good.
  4. Thanks to all Veterans.
  5. I used to do a few. It's been about 20 years though. The last was a 1/24 scale Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda in Plum Crazy Purple. Turned out pretty nice but, fell off table and had a bad wreck.
  6. You picked a crappy time to get into reloading. A couple friends have done the same thing.
  7. I would have to look at some of my manuals to se if there's a powder that would work good in .30-30, .308, .30-06, and .243. I know IMR 4895 will do good in .30-30, .308, and .30-06 but, .243 sometimes does better with slightly slower powder. Obviously the .300 RUM will need a sloooow powder.
  8. Look like a wide 6 point. Nice buck. Hope everything goes well for you. Bless.
  9. If all the primers look the same, it is probably remanufactured reloads.
  10. It wouldn't surprise me if they did. You can't be the only one that like them.
  11. What .357 is that? Nice.
  12. Ok, yeah I've noticed .357 is a little hard to find lately too. I handload mine and will buy a box once in awhile just for the brass. The good stuff, if you can find it, is expensive. Something like Buffalo Bore almost requires a loan.
  13. A .357 with a cast wide flat nose weighing about 180 gr. would be good loaded a little fast for weight.
  14. "Lets go Brandon"!
  15. Happy Birthday, and hope it's a goodun.
  16. I saw the smoke down that way. didn't know what it was.
  17. I tried peanut butter once and it stayed there till it molded. They didn't like it for some reason. And this was creamy kind. The sugar, salt, jello, vanilla pudding mix is the best I've done other than "yellow acorns".
  18. Called them Friday about some powders and primers. Didn't have any primers and didn't have the powder I was wanting. Oh well.
  19. I hate to be the one to tell you but, your locks are on the wrong side.
  20. It's hard to believe .30-30's are 2 bucks a round. A guy at work has been seeing the same prices on .30-30 ammo. Whew.
  21. You could have a faster than normal twist. I think most .257 Roberts have a 1-10". At least that's what I remember. Heavier longer bullets might shoot better, I personally would shoot 115, 117, 120. but, don't rule out a loose ring or base.
  22. No. I skimmed through it but, didn't see.
  23. I've been lucky, I've never hit one. And I drive probably 25,000 a year or more.
  24. I loaded up a few this morning with 12.0 gr. Accurate no.7 and chronographed average of 1,000 . Accuracy at 25 yards was about 4" range. Not the best this gun has shot but, ok for short hunting distances. Primers looked fine and recoil not bad at all. No.7 is a little slow but, they didn't have a lot to choose from. I wanted some No.5 but, he said it was ordered along with a bunch others.
