    carry gun

    Glock 26 and love it.
  2. Mossberg 590 for sure
  3. Glock 26 (no extensions) in a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster (once my HCP comes in at least)
  4. "I, Hatchet Jack, being of sound mind and broke legs, do here by leavith my bear rifle to whatever finds it. Lord hope, it be a white man. It is a good rifle, and kilt the bear that kilt me. Anyway, I am dead. Yours truly, Hatchet Jack."
  5. I have not tried one, but some soft leather attached to the inside, to make it like an MTAC might be the ticket.
  6. sure, I agree that shot placement is the most important, but if you have shot placement and poor bullet performance, you will just make it harder on yourself. Can you kill a BG with a BB gun? Sure, if the shot placement is the jugular. However, a WHOLE lot more variables need to align themselves in order for you to be successful. I like to err on the side of caution and load up with the best performance bullet I can get away with, without affecting my shot placement. In 9mm for me, that's either 124gr +P or 147gr in a high performance JHP bullet such as the Gold Dot that is much less prone to clogging up with clothing fiber. Bottom line. it really needs to be a balance of shot placement and bullet performance, obviously leaning more towards placement.
  7. I tend to stay away from Hydrashocks, they supposedly "clog up" with fabric and do not expand properly. I have Cor Bon 124gr +P JHP in my G26 right now. Next batch will be Double Tap 147gr with Speer GDHP bullets. This is good reading: http://ammo.ar15.com/project/Self_Defense_Ammo_FAQ/index.htm

    XD-M 9 or G-19

Yep. I would wager they will probably prove to be about as reliable as a Glock, but only time will tell obviously. If I didn't have my G26, I'd have a M&P9c. I just like the Glocks a little more, thats all. Love me some Kool-Aid.

    New G26

I think the extensions defeat the purpose, and just trained without them. I can shoot equally as well with the stock mag or a g19 mag in the gun, so I don't have a need for them... makes it much easier to pocket carry as well.
  10. No need for a badge even if you justify it as useful in keeping people from calling the cops because they saw a guy with a gun. With all of the cop shows with cops in plain clothes they would probably just assume you were a fed or plain clothes cop like in a TV show anyway, unless you have a tu pac t-shirt on.

    New G26

I love my g26. It is, in my opinion, the best balanced/versatile gun for me. I can have fun shooting it at the range, it is accurate, and I can easily carry it no problem. I don't have money to spend on guns, so I like having "jack of all trade" guns. If for whatever reason I wanted a longer barrel, then I could get a g19 barrel to drop in, if I need more capacity I can slap a 33 rounder in it etc. People say, why not just get a 19? Well, you can make a 26 bigger, you can't make a 19 smaller (within reason).
  12. The term "brandishing" is often misused. It basically means that you are waving the gun around and it is in your hand, and you are doing so in a threatening manner. It seems that many people use brandish to mean simply showing the gun. Lifting your shirt up to revel a weapon is not brandishing it. If the gun is in the guy's hand, any reasonable person could assume it is there because they are about to use it. So sure, if they are truly brandishing the weapon, I don't see an issue. However, if they are merely showing their weapon in a suggestive "get the hell away from me, I've had a bad day" manner, then it hasn't gotten to the point of reasonable intent, ability and jeopardy and you would probably not be justified in the use of deadly force.
  13. Yeah, there was mention of something like carrying in Kroger not being legal, which is obviously not true anymore. Seriously though, Patrick did a great job of clarifying as much as possible... it had to have been hard with both of them stepping on toes running the show. At least the blind guy has a good sense of direction... though, could be a problem if the intruder is a ventriloquist or, like Zeke said, the mute neighbor. lol
  14. Cool, glad its up on their podcast. I got the recording of it but it didn't work like I had planned, and the software didn't record long enough. Great job! One of the better if not the best interviews on their show in a LONG time, for sure.
  15. I have the software set to record it, so we should be set. I'll post up the recording sometime tomorrow asap.
  16. I'll try to get a recording if you guys want. It will be no problem to get a good quality recording out of my receiver into mp3.
  17. I shoot a bunch of FMJ, and very few JHP (because of cost), not really much of a need to because my Austrian and American guns like to eat anything, even el cheapo ammo. What kind of ammo do Croatian guns like? I hope I don't shoot myself with my Glock, because I think triggers make a wonderful finger rest.
  18. I hope so, I need to pick up a few myself!
  19. Nope, no surprise. Though, I am surprised its not more 220k for Shelby alone... lol
  20. Yep. Strapped like Neo in the Matrix.
  21. yeah, between those choices M&P is my choice for sure.
  22. My 590 has 8 in the tube, chamber empty, safety off. 1st shot is birdshot, the following 7 are Win lite low recoil 1oz slugs. Birdshot for either a warning shot or removing the skin from their face. Slugs for when they try to dive behind the furniture.
  23. With my 642, I can punch the same hole with all 5 shots at about 7 yards or so. That's SLOW firing, with some Bright Sights paint on the front sight. If I try to rapid fire it, even in the slightest, I can not keep it on target to save my life, literally. This is why I do not carry it, it is in the house as a strategically placed BUG and a gun that anyone in my family can grab in a hurry and use (maybe not effectively, but better than nothing!) if the need should arise. With practice, I could probably get proficient with it, but even then I don't know how well that practice would hold up in a high stress situation. That is why I have my g26, if my practice should all fly out the window in a SHTF moment, at least I'll have an extremely simple gun to operate that has enough rounds to "spray and pray".
  24. Yep, because, as they say, it doesn't matter how big a bullet you miss him with.
  25. I agree 110%. I don't plan on drinking while carrying. I visit restaurants often and would very much like to carry in those establishments and not have to stash the gun in the car or plan ahead and just leave it home. Pretty much defeats the purpose of owning a gun in the first place. Presently, I can carry to Cracker Barrel and Wal-Mart, that's about it. lol Unless I drive across the border to MS, then I'm set. Though, I can see a point about not changing the law to include no drinking at all while carry, and leave it as being under the influence. I assume that means that if you can legally operate a motor vehicle (less the .08 BAC) then you can legally carry. Am I right? Seems if someone wanted to go to a restaurant, it should be fine to have 1 beer and not break any carry laws.
