  1. I say go for it, can't go wrong at all. Another option would be to look into the Walther PPQ if you want to be somewhat different.
  2. Yeah, I was also surprised to see how slow a lot of the big name offerings were. 40+p could hang with many of them. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  3. Underwood Ammo loads them very stout, and the 180gr with the Gold Dots is what I typically have in my Glock 20. There is a guy on youtube that maintains a crono'd list of all of the 10mm loads he can get his hands on. The google doc link is: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AjsXvXEryDJjdFhsRUcwSHRUcktCMmhOMTVFa25xa1E#gid=0 and it should be publicly accessible. He updates it as he tests new loads.

    that's more like it

    new 45

looks like a sweet setup! only thing that would hang me up is the 5+1. I know, I know, most shootings are 3 shots, 3 yards in 3 seconds, but still. 5+1 probably would not have been enough to drop James Holmes in Colorado unless you swiss cheesed his gas mask.
  6. at least we know the mags are drop-free...
  7. They cashed my check the 1st week of January, and I got my can on July 3rd (which is oddly enough my birthday, lol). 7 months. But it was worth the wait! AAC TiRant .45
  8. Georgia Arms ammo is great. I buy all my pistol ammo from them, especially 10mm. And lately I've been stocking up on their bulk 147gr 9mm for a suppressor setup I have in the works. I've fired a couple thousand rounds of their ammo at least, and no malfunctions. p.s. in TN, they have free shipping if you buy more than $500. So usually what i do is, if I'm not going to buy that much I'll get some buddies in on the order so it is always over 500.
  9. just mags here as well, no complaints.
  10. 20 or 21, I love my 20sf and I have a 21 upper for it as well as a .40S&W conversion bbl. Frankenglock.
  11. Holy thread resurrection Batman! Since posting in this thread, I have gotten my hands on a 20SF and it has become my favorite pistola. I carry it in an comp-tac mtac, and I get that warm and fuzzy knowing I have 16 rounds of 10mm on my side.
  12. Wasn't it the Japanese naval commander Yamamoto or something like that, that said "I would never attack the mainland of the USA. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass." SBRs are cool, especially suppressed pistol caliber ones. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
  13. When I pull the trigger on a pistol expecting a little bit of country and I get a little bit of rock n roll... that is no bueno. I've heard stories that inexperienced shooters will try to toss the gun out of their hands when it goes rock n roll, that would be a scary deal! It was was probably a good thing it only happened on the last 3 rounds during your class as well. I bet it is a simple firing pin issue, maybe out of spec or something. A run away is never a good thing, and dangerous. I'm sure Ruger will get it all taken care of.
  14. I have a G20SF, and I love it. I run a .40 conversion bbl in it, so I have 2 in 1 capability if I'm going to shoot a lot of ammo. I prefer shooting 10mm out of it, but it is still a lot of fun with the .40 and keeps me practiced with grip consistency, sight picture, trigger pull, gun weight, etc.
  15. Just wait, you'll soon hear "It doesn't have any external, manual safeties. It isn't safe. You might shine your arse off with it." As for me, screw safeties. I'm gonna Mexican carry it. Who knows, I may even get a tan.

    10 MM Auto fans

ditto. I carry mine fairly often in a MTAC. I live just outside of Memphis though.

    Sig .357 ??

Personally, I'd go the 10mm route (which is what I did when i was in this situation a year ago), and get a bbl to shoot .40. .40 for the range, and 10mm for SD/HD. .357sig is just an intermediate round to me. You have the capacity of a .40 cal gun, shooting smaller bullets. Why not have the same capacity, but still shoot .40 cal bullets while maintaining the incredible velocity? 10mm is where it is at. Double Tap for the personal defense loads, at less than a buck a pop, not too bad. You can get range 10mm ammo for as little as 39 cents a round. Sure you can get .357sig for 30 cents/rd but you aren't making big holes...
  18. Congrats! I remember my first wally walk with my Glock 20 in an MTAC. I was just sure someone was going to see it print if I bent over to get something on a low shelf. It was an odd feeling being paranoid about doing something completely legal. Now it ain't no thang!

    question?

Agreed. It is about value, not cost, per se. The value of something is whatever anyone is willing to pay for it. Look at Barrett-Jackson car auctions for example. Rolex tells time like a Timex. Sometimes, you've just got to pay to play.

    PMR 30

That thing looks like it is a lot of fun to shoot, I may have to get one at some point. I wish 22mag was cheaper though.
  21. I for one shoot better without my pinky on the gun. The pinky is a trouble maker, it really adds little grip strength, but is often a culprit for jerking shots because you milk the grip. Or at least thats how it works for me.

    380 for ccw

The way I see it is, what does it offer you over your current weapon? It is heavier, but does it give you more rounds? Why not a 9 or 40 in a similar size? These are all questions I would ask myself. Now, I know nothing about the CZ83 but 170 for a gun is pretty darn cheap. What is the quality on these things? Normally in winter it is a good idea to go up in the bang department, and carry something larger and/or more powerful. My reasoning is this: not only are you wearing more clothing and thus can conceal a larger firearm more easily, but chances are if you were to have to use said weapon in a SD situation, the perp will most likely be wearing more substantial clothing as well. A 380 needs all the help it can get anyway. Not trying to start a caliber effectiveness thread or anything, it is just something I think about is all.
  23. Well, have you held both at least? The 27 is considerably smaller in dimensions compared to the 30. Especially in thickness. For this reason alone it will be easier to carry. I carry my 26 in my pocket for example. As for recoil, the .45 is a push where as the .40 is a snap, especially in the baby Glock. edit: I'll add more about the recoil, the 30 will have less felt recoil in my opinion, albeit the recoil is different. Also different people perceive recoil differently. How many more times can I say different?
  24. I too have one and a G26. I carry mine when i can't carry the G26. I like it a lot. It is surprisingly accurate as well.

    G27 Question

conversion barrel, extractor, i THINK ejector (they may be the same, but I'm pretty sure they are different) and of course mags. However, most report decent reliability with just a bbl swap but I wouldn't trust it for SD, but range use would be fine.
