Finally made it to the range with the 930. 25 rounds of light bird shot low brass, only issue was one light primer strike. 5 x 3" magnum buckshot. OUCH!. 5 x 2 3/4" buckshot. no issues. 10 x 2 3/4" slugs grouped in about a soft ball at 50 yards from a rest. Had two feeding issues (shells were not ejected from magazine tube) racked the slide went right into battery. Sights were easy to adjust and responsive to clicks. I had not cleaned nor lubed the shotty from the factory, so I think that was the cause of my issues. I shot the slugs last and the gun was quite hot by that time. Ripped through the ammo in about 30 minutes...got the sore shoulder this am.

CIA scares me sometimes. Just never know what quality you'll get, but Bud's is good to work with. I had a 2 WASR-10's were both real rough out of the box. Neither would run a full mag. Had to polish the pistons then they both ran fine. Ended up sanding/staining the stock sets, shot them flat black duracoat. Turned out real nice. Price sounds like a heck of a deal. MGE has them for $429+shipping.

My "ZOMBIE" AR...finished...finally
Troutburger replied to Magiccarpetrides's topic in Show and Tell
I have a very similar rifle. Question, Did Spikes leave a ugly dab of flux under your vortex? They did under mine. Wasn't sure if it was SOP for them to prove it was welded on? -
The chopper is fast, evasive, and gets great gas mileage. These zombies aren't exactly the hopped up rage kind. The bike can keep moving and weave in and out of the interstate pile ups vs having to stop, get out and push vehicles out of the way. You're in the most danger when stopped for refueling, or sticking your arms in vehicles to put them in neutral. Never know where that surprise chomp is going to come from. While not my first choice the bike is still better than that busted up RV...

I've always thought a great way to weather the za would be on a well stocked cruise ship. Although clearing it of the undead would be dangerous and difficult, once cleared you could anchor off shore and wait out the initial spread. Barring any hurricanes you should be able to just watch the anchor line and live with a small group until you ran out of supplies. Of course being several hundred miles away from the nearest coast, and not knowing how to drive/anchor a ship is a slight problem....

yeah the russian 556 62 grain and up is hard to find except for hollow points.

I got the streamlight poly 90 degree led. Has worked great for me so far. Dropped it into Santa Rosa Sound (salt water) still works great. Several fishing trips and a 2 night camp out still on the original batteries. The strobe function is pretty fun too. Much longer battery life than my surefire Z2.

You mean besides two chicks at the same time? Yeah, I think I would use my money to help some and harass others. It would be great to show up at the Virginian or Ole Farm with half of Dale street for dinner and a spot of golf... I'd turn the Sunday buffet at Meadowview in to my personal soup kitchen. On hot days i'd bus people into the Troutdale at Ridgefields for a swim and lunch... My goal would to be the most loved/hated man in town. Then i'd cruise on over to London and rock out with the Stones. In the end i'd blow most the money hiring Aerosmith to play at my birthday party.

I thought it was great. Recorded it and watched it twice.

Well got the 930 back from Mossberg today. There was no explanation of what they did. They did include a $0 balance invoice that shows a shell stop assembly and an elevator. Anyway the shotty now holds the correct round count and the bolt has not bound up yet. I was able to load and manually cycle the rounds this time. The crappy part is now the trigger group and lifter have a lot of play in them. I can live with that as long as it functions. The part that grinds my gears though is they left tool marks all over the shotgun. Scuff on the forearm, hammer and punch marks on the receiver, scuffs on the elevator and trigger housing. Now this shotgun will be used so I can deal with the scuffs etc, but there is no way I could sell this 930 as NIB in this condition. It's sad to see where the Mossberg product and customer service has ended up.

Yeah its pretty common around here. Especially in Kingsport, shops not doing transfers for Buds guns and charging extra fees if they have the item or similar in stock. Just a sign of the times. Little to no walk in business, so they try to make it up somewhere.

How many TGO members will be sitting there watching the show in their boxer shorts and boots AK or AR in hand? I will be for one!

Killing snakes. Killing the neighbor's dog. Killing the neighbor's cat. Killing the neighbors if they get bit by a Zombie.

Repaired Mossy 500 wearing finish off slide tube
Troutburger replied to Beltaine's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I'd take it back to the smith, as it sounds like he did not fix it right to begin with. -
Agreed, the MK series is among the nicest .22 pistols, but by far the hardest gun I've ever field stripped! We took a MK III all the way apart to duracoat. Thought it was never going back together.

I've got a mosquito that I bought used a while back. Shoots fine, functions pretty much all the time. Finish isn't holding up all that well. The take down lever is a beast to flip. To me its on par with the wife's Walther P22. Does it compare to my MK II and MK III Rugers? Not even close, but its worth the $100 I paid for it. Would it hold up to the kind of shooting Dolomite is talking about....I'd give it a month...maybe...

+1 but i'm afraid this is true for all the candidates.

Firearm discharge on public road
Troutburger replied to Knox Al's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Yeah, shoot someone's dog on the street in front of their house maybe in front of their kids. Good way to loose your permit, or end up in a self defense situation.
