Thanks to the tax increases, fuel increases and overall economic crapper we are in; most kids won't get a vacation this year. So yes I resent them jet setting the globe on our dime.

It may seem that a $1.00 increase from the factory is in significant, but like David has explained; opportunity costs in business increase exponentially. Fiocchi for example raised 9mm by $3 a box. Then the distributor adds a lick, plus the banker, the shipper, and the distributor....boom 9mm just went from $14.99 to $30 a box...

Ammunition companies continue to increase production to meet demand however we are uniformly starting to receive information about cost increases that will impact existing and future purchase orders in place with the manufacturers. The letter we received this week from Federal is on our website for you to read. In short, they are forced into a price increase and are not able to honor any backorders at “old” pricing. Obviously, this will force us to raise prices on current backorders for customers in our system as well as new orders. The max on wc844 was 24 gr with 62gr. 22gr start.

It's good to be king...

You might be able to back off to about 23.5 grains and keep the same or equal accuracy. Benefit would make your powder stretch a bit further. I've been using wc844 with 62gr. Accuracy is almost identical between 22.5-23.5gr

I know 100% for sure fiocchi has raised their wholesale prices to distributors. Have the letter saved on my desk top.

Not seen prices that low in a few months...

Not trying to stand up for the gougers, but wholesale prices have also been climbing steadily through all of this. While prices are increasing, profit margins at most LGS are pretty much the same.    The distributors hold most popular products as allocated items.  Meaning the CSR at that distributor can pick and choose which FFL gets his premium items.    So here is the tear, in order to get top consideration for the popular allocated items the FFL must buy large quantities of crap like cleaning kits, targets, and throw guns.  Items that they will either sit on forever or sale at little to no profit. In order to run a successful business they must charge enough on the selling items to cover the losses on the crap items, and still maintain a profit.   So if you stumble upon a shop with a large quantity of premium ammo and products, you can rest assured they have many thousands of dollars invested in crap they may never move at a profit.     My point being not all of this problem is just local greed.  Its a flawed and very stressed distribution system as well. 

Its just hard to imagine at 4million rounds per day, that there could possibly be a shortage...

So how about posting a how to tutorial for dummies? I got 10 gallons of wheel weights, and a lead melting pot. Tried some fishing jigs with marginal results...marginal at best...

I can ring the 200 yd steel with my eotech 10 for 10, but I don't think I could past that. At 300 don't think I could even see the target past the dot.
