Going to pour a concrete shooting bench tomorrow
frankmako replied to seez52's topic in Show and Tell
We have several of these at the club. They are one concrete blocks. They do not move. Also we made some out of wood. In the long run the wood ones were better. Can move them and wood does not eat up you gun like concrete can. -

Location: Chatuge Gun Club, Hiawassee, Georgia. Towns County. Not far from Chattanooga Tennessee. Go to http://www.chatugegunclub.com/index.html for more information. Start time 11 am. Practice time 10 am. Smallbore Standard Rifle. 40 rounds match. Smallbore Hunter Rifle. 40 rounds match. NRA approved match. First match of the season. Come out and shoot some steel.

If I was going to buy one I would check with the state dmv office in Nashville to see what all you need to get a title. Your local county dmv will not know and will slow you down. Get a contract person at state so you can call when you are standing in front of the county dmv person trying to explain what you are trying to do.

it was not the shipping part that was the problem. they just passed the shipping haz mat fee to the customer. the big problem was the storage of the powder and primers at their location. government regulations kick in when you have large amounts of powder/primers located/stored at one location. it sounds like they did not want to spend the money to upgrade their storage area to meet current government requirements and/or to go through the government inspections of location/business.

there goes another one. thank you government regulations.

ammo cans for me. i also use plastic coffee cans for reloads.

there are no nra silhouette matches in east tennessee anymore. this is the first year in over 11 years for "no matches" and no tennessee state match. the chattanooga rifle club dropped the program for 2017. so there are 36 plus local tennessee/alabama/georgia/north-south carolina silhouette shooter looking for nra silhouette matches (smallbore rifle/smallbore hunter rifle/cla smallbore/cla pistol cartridge).

buy a chronograph. they are cheap. you don't have to buy the high dollar one, a $100.00 dollar chronograph will do all you need. book load data is a starting point. a chronograph will help you dial in your loads.
-
their prices are to high for me. i can and have gotten better deals on the net and at other stores. even with the sale items they are still high. they will not be missed by me when they closed. the last time i went it was to kill some time. but i did not stay long. was the only customer in store.

call parker's safes in nashville. arron parker does a good job in setup. he use to be a member here. he is first pick, then the safe house is my second.

i base my info from what my 1985 model chronograph does. it either comes on and work or not. to much sunlight can cause most problems. heavy overcast skies can cause problems. but i would change out the battery anyway to make sure.

david we lost our nra silhouette matches this year here in chattanooga, after 11 plus years. four rifle matches a month gone. we had up to 30 shooters a month and also held the tennessee state match each year. we got shooters from five states each month for the matches. in your matches will the current nra silhouette rules apply and current classification books be used? it looks like these are the matches that you have: smallbore standard rifle smallbore hunter rifle cla smallbore rifle smallbore hunter pistol (scope) hunter pistol (scope) are you also going to do: cla pistol cartridge smallbore hunter pistol iron sights hunter pistol iron sights
