I have owned and used 22 mags for many decades. I would pick one over a 22 LR any day. Currently own one of the new lefty CZ 22 mags. Have not shot it yet but she sure does look good.

Just picked up a D10. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. But a $680 pistol looks and feels like it has a $1500 price tag.

Lived in and hunter Alaska for 35 plus years. I was convinced the best thing to carry was a big bore revolver. 454 Casual, 500 S&W, 500 JRH, etc. Pretty much owned and used then all. Some of my friends started carrying semi auto 10mm's and it slowly sunk in they are a better choice. A few buddys started out with Glocks but most have switched the the Springfield XDM's and carry a mag full of 200 grain hard cast bullets or 200 grain Hornadys. Much easier to get off multiple shots with a semi auto 10 than any big bore revolver. Even though I still own plenty of big bore revolvers I now own a Springfield.

I bought the Springfield based on results from a couple of guys I personally know and it was highly recommended. One of my friends loads it with stiff 200 grain hard cast loads and carries it for bear protection in Alaska. He mentioned he did change out the spring as well. Doubt I'll run into a bear on my walks but 2 legged creatures scare me even more as well as stray dogs. I'll stick with 180 grain Hornady XTP's

Picked this up from my dealer last month. Springfield XDM Elite in 10mm. Mag holds 16 (2 mags included), decent trigger, red dot ready, 4.5 inch barrel. Plenty of pistol for the delivered price of $566. Ambidextrous mag release and slide release. Sights are easy to pick up.

The Ultimate came from Shooting Surplus https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwiKj9TRgNT7AhUZhIkEHV3fCrIQFnoECAkQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fshootingsurplus.com%2F&usg=AOvVaw2lWo8SoWCp8zRYHIPchrZi I paid $1090 plus shipping. When trying to locate these, search for both Tisas and SDS Imports.

They just keep on getting less expensive: SDS Imports US Army 5" Barrel .45 ACP 7+1 Rounds - 1911A1 : RK Guns

Two choices. Freedom Arms or Korth

I just picked up one of their SSR models (stainless, Novack sights, ambi safety, light rail, etc) and a Ultimate Match model with hand lapped barrel, adjustable sights, ambi safety, mag well, etc.. Both are a heck of a lot of gun for the price. Here are some photos of the Ultimate model.

You will never outgrow a single stage press. I been using them since 1965 and they do a great job. Now, If I were shooting a couple hundred rounds a week I would consider adding a progressive.

My favorite? The next one! Have a bunch but a couple of unique ones are a new 1886 in 45-90 and waiting on a Big Horm Armory in 500 S&W.

Kentucky Gun Company must have got a huge batch of the .45's. They are selling them for $319. SDS IMPORTS 1911-A1 45 ACP 5in Black 7rd » KYGUNCO

I priced some of the new models last year, $3500 or more. Am sure they are nice. They sure look bad azz! I went with the Desert Eagle in 44 mag.

Seems very expensive to do. Add in state sales tax as well as gunbroker fees. Then pay income tax, possibly state income tax, and social security tax on the profits. Not saying it doesn’t happen but that is a lot of cash to lose to show a paper trail that can be easily investigated.

I never could figure this out. How does over paying for anything launder money? What the person paid becomes a permanent record on the internet. If anything, the buyer would still end up having to prove where they got the cash to buy the item. What am I missing?
-
Thanks. I may contact them to see if they can send photos of the blank before giving them more money. I been burned by Cooper before when paying for upgraded wood so am cautious at this point about doing it sight unseen.
-
Cant find any info about the collector grade wood on BHA's web site. Can you tell me more about the option?
-
This is more my style: Model 89 - 500 S&W - Big Horn Armory I ordered one with upgraded wood a month or so ago. Scheduled to be built in roughly 15 months

Bought a Governor knowing we were moving here 6 years ago. Have never regretted my choice and the gun is carried a lot. I do kill water snakes and copperheads with it. Others get a pass. I hate water snakes with a passion, IMO they do nothing except eat the fish I stock in our pond. Stray wild dogs are more of a problem but I have not been in a situation yet where I had to kill one (yet). Judging by the numbers I see lately I'll be buying more ammo soon.

Cheap will rarely ever become collectible.

Where do you buy your reloading supplies?
RandyB replied to enfield's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Powder Valley is still my go to. They usually have the best price, decent shipping charges, They do not charge sales tax and they usually ship within a day or two. Sometimes I will check Outdoor Junction for powder. -
What is illegal about a parent buying a handgun and giving it to one of their kids for a present?
-
I wouldn’t give it any thought (provided you can legally own one). Have your parents buy it and if anyone asks where it came from tell them it’s none of their business or it belongs to your dad and you just borrowed it.
