  1. Personally I'd never check anything on a plane that I wasn't willing to lose. I've heard too many stories: golf clubs, laptops, etc.

    S&W Mod. 36

I think you can get a history on the S&W site, but it's a little pricey (maybe $50?).
  3. Welcome - enjoy. Good site & folks.
  4. Ok, Lamar just lost my vote in the next election he's in. NRA needs to drop his rating to a D (for dummy).
  5. Welcome from another Shelby Countian.
  6. Sorry that I'm not on that side of the state, 'cause I'd be giving this guy all my pizza business from now on. People - please support this guy, if you live nearby. Cam (& Company) is talking about this right now.
  7. +1 - Personally I love the Rendezvous. Not the best ribs in town, but the best atmosphere, bar none. I hope it's not posted.
  8. I can't think of a better place to carry. Plenty of nuts out there hankerin' to shoot up a church and/or a preacher. Sad times we live in.
  9. As for 9mm...Gold Dots
  10. Good ideas. Thx.
  11. I'd encourage you to take a Self-Defense Street Handgun course to get comfortable drawing and holstering while chambered.
  12. +1 on RangeUSA. Great classes. Run HCP classes all the time.
  13. Ha - good one. I walked right into that one. Seriously though, I'm talking one of those smaller cube style things you might fit a few handguns in. I've looked at the backs and see nothing to tie a chain or something into. Welding does sound like the only option.
  14. Well if you're heading to Memphis, Guns & Ammo on Summer has a huge assortment of revolvers (and other stuff). Unless you want to be carrying before you set foot in Memphis. Ha ha.
  15. Question: how do you keep a thief from just carrying it off? Particularly the small box models.
  16. Do clean these M&P rebate mags before you use them. Likely dripping with oil. Mine were (9mm).
  17. I guess The Orchid, like The Plush Club, is basically exempt from the check-point crap. Gee I wonder why? Maybe because that's the area where the security is scared as hell to wand people? Sure, wand the somewhat "safer looking" people up on the west end of Beale. I've probably been to Bourbon Street more times than Beale, and have always felt safer on Bourbon. The cops in N.O. do not play! Beale has seen the last of me, along with any other place that posts.
  18. Ok, either channel 3 or 5 showed them wanding people on Beale last night, or maybe Friday night? They were doing it on the west end of Beale, the more "photogenic" end of Beale. The east end (read: The Plush Club) is where all the gang-bangers are and the scene of a multiple shooting a couple of weeks back. I didn't see it on TV, but I'll bet money the Plush Club is outside of the restricted area. Yeah, all that wanding sure did it's job. What a joke.
  19. Wait till the NRA hears of this. They'll find someone to help take this on.
  20. Sorry to hear this. Liked Huey's myself. My boycott has begun this minute. I've been boycotting Exxon since the Valdez spill incident (20 years ago?). Plenty of other places to eat.
  21. DeerSlayer, betcha not going to Molly's in Midtown are ya? I'd like to hear what kind of stupid (and invalid) signage they have up.

    Ruger Mark 3

Without the field strip, where are you lubing it? Happy days - got mine today. Would like to shoot it this weekend, and of course my FFL says to strip, clean & lube it before shooting (yeah, yeah, yeah). I mean I'm up for cleaning (bore snake) and lubing, but without stripping it for the moment. I don't want a pile of parts this weekend. Thx

    Ruger Mark 3

I like this idea myself, but I've heard most folks say to tear it down, clean & lube before shooting the first round. About to get one too and have been told the takedown is not a bad as advertised. Their reassurance is the only thing that's kept me leaning to the MK3. Otherwise, they're supposedly sweet as can be.
  24. Sounds like Nikki's going to be on Cam & Company tomorrow night (Tue) to discuss today's events. Godspeed Nikki!!!!!
