  1. Huh, ya on closer inspection...you might be right. Ok, stainless what-evers need wood.
  2. Wow, sorry to hear this. I'd be more inclined to believe it's the mags. Good luck.
  3. Looks a whole lot better. Good move. IMO stainless 1911's really look better with some kind of wood grips.
  4. I've never noticed this "feature" on my G26. So, like during field strip it just doesn't want to stay in place? Not mine. Sounds kind of odd.
  5. I've got the "full size" M&P 9. I bought it used. Had some light striking issues early. Sent it in to SW (no questions asked). Came back 100%. Great CS. Not a problem since. I really like the trigger compared to my G26.
  6. Ok, here's two sites for grips. I've used the Finer Grain. Very good. Can't say myself about the other. Have heard good things. Home Page http://www.esmeralda.cc/
  7. Ah there we go. I feel better now. Nice looking. So when you gonna pop the cherry?
  8. Nice avatar! But your screen name should be AleHead, given your avatar. Ever have Guiness with a raw egg? Keith Moon style. I digress...
  9. Nice pics David. Thanks for sharing them. Beautiful place.
  10. Ok, anyone in Shelby County get theirs yet? I got my letter and have no idea where to go. I hope not downtown.
  11. This thread is pointless without pics.

I need to buy a gun

Don't be in a hurry. You can rent several at RangeUSA, and probably get some good advice too. As far as things to stay away from...um have to say Taurus. Have seen first hand the issues they have (out of the box). Have heard their customer service is awful. It's one of those guns where you might get a good one, or you might get a bad one. I think you might could find a decent Rock Island Govt model 1911 in your price range. But then you'll just become a 1911 addict. But that's not a bad thing. There's 1911's and there's everything else...
  13. The idiot Brits want to ban pint glasses. Seriously. Sacrilege.
  14. Guarantee Ron Reagan is spinning in his grave.
  15. Heck, this is a good day in Memphis.

    I'm torn G26 or G27

Yep, 26 & 27 have the same dimensions. Good carry guns, both.
  17. Good for you. Cannot go to enough classes, and to me the HCP class doesn't count!
  18. Welcome aboard.
  19. Funny how all the anti's and Hollywood types all think Europe is so dang superior to us. Wonder if they even have a clue about this? Or George Soros, or the UN? When are they gonna be banging on the Swiss to ban guns? This is one of those truths they just choose to ignore as it doesn't fit their factless, over emotional, beliefs.
  20. Grips....I'll agree. Those got to go. Check these out Home Page General gun work, Dave Serverns at: https://severnscustom.com/Home_Page.html We have similar likes and dislikes on 1911's. Good luck.
  21. Thanks for positng this. Really getting interested in a Revolver.
  22. Welcome from a neighbor.
  23. No worries about stopping power that's for sure.
  24. Agreed. As much as I'd like to take that Ruger off your hands, that has wife-problems written all over it.

    I'm torn G26 or G27

I tried them both before settling on the 26. Found the recoil a bit harsh on the 27. If you use some decent JHP's for carry I would not worry about the stopping power issue. And of course the ammo is cheaper, plus I see more 9 available here too.
