The absent-minded professor adage comes to mind as well. There's "theory (book) smart" and "practical smart (street, common sense, etc.). The two are diametrically opposed for most profs.

There's a lot of brilliant minds in academia. However, a lot of them seem to be pretty short on common sense. I know because my family is loaded with them. The pro 2A argument is all about common sense, logic, and facts. The anti 2A argument is all about factless emotion, illogic, and mystical utopian worlds of unicorns and rainbows.

I'm willing to bet that round is not going to fire. Every time it's happened to me in target shooting, I've sat there and waited about 10 seconds. I've never had one fire late.

Just talking ammo availability...I'd steer clear of 380. I can find 9mm pretty easily here, while I hardly ever see 380.

Count me in for either of the last 2. The first is probably a 6 hour class (re: weekend). I've been to a Reload on a Friday night. About 3 hours as I recall.

I might be interested in the RUSA class. Been thru SD HG II, so I think that's the pre req. I liked someone's idea of having a bunch of us in a class. The "Reload" class they have is fairly cheap (aside from the 200 or 300 rds of ammo). If you take the SD HG I class you can take the "Reload" for $30 I think.

Reasonable distance will likely be "created" by the attorney of the plaintiff.

800 rd. minimum break-in before declaring any 1911 carry-worthy. Those last 400 ought to be perfectly clean.

Oh, and the designation of "hate crime" needs to be done away with. The race, religion, or gender of the victim is irrelevant. The criminals just need to be locked away for a damn long time. That seems to be a problem nowadays for some reason that just escapes me. Same thing for the bonus time for committing a crime with a gun. As if being killed with a knife if somewhat more acceptable. Both of these are bad solutions to an easily fixed (IMO) problem. Lock them up and throw away the keys. There is no rehabilitation in jail. They just learn how to become better criminals.
