  1. CK1, I'm not getting much off that link. Not seeing the story you might be referring to here. I despise the guy, but I'll listen.
  2. Just a real classy looking 1911. No gastly rollmarks or front serrations. A real peach.
  3. This is "shooting to injure" which is not the same concept as "stop the threat". NEVER SHOOT TO INJURE! "Stopping the threat" is the concept in HCP training (classroom). Aiming for center-mass is the goal in HCP testing (range). If I happen to kill someone in trying to stop the threat (while aiming for center mass) - then so be it.

Boy I had to bite my tongue on this one.
  5. Just say no to Haslam.
  6. I think safeties, just lull you into bad habits. I can see your LEO argument, but barely. I think the chances are you're gonna need that one round more than you are wanting to avoid it. Might need so input from some LEOs here. Personally I think safties aren't needed on DAs.
  7. You know, I used to think Memphis was the only place that could screw up something so badly. Now I see the rest of the state is just as capable.
  8. Uh, maybe my mistake in quick reading. Glad you think this way too. Cheers.
  9. God forbid Memphis ever has the "big one". If so, it's gonna make Katrina look like a picnic party.
  10. I like the color and the grooves on the top.
  11. ...and that's a bad thing? So, here's the situation: You are carrying your XD chambered, or at least you should be. You are now placed in the moment of truth, you draw your weapon only to see your mag fall right out onto the floor. You don't want that one chambered round to save your butt?
  12. Good thing we don't have one gun a month or you'd be in withdrawl.

    Trading down. Not good.
  14. I'll miss it, but I went to the one there about 2 months ago. I liked it better than the ones they have at the Agricenter. A whole lot less cramped. You may be able to find a few bucks off coupon on their site.
  15. Hey Willis, try any of the CMC Power+ mags? Compare to reg. Power mag?
  16. Easily my worst experience with field stripping. Getting the hammer set just right, near the end of the reassembly, is the hardest part (IMO). Otherwise, it's a great shooter.

    New .45

And currently there's a tie betw/ the Valor and the Springer. If price is not an issue...I'd vote again for the Valor.
  18. Wanna see pics before I vote.

    Small carry Handgun

+1...G26 is one of the best subcompacts around. It can be pocket carried too (pocket holster strongly encouraged).
  20. Pics please? Oughta be a pre-req especially on new models. Field stripped too....recoil spring assembly pic? Thanks.
  21. S&W still makes the best DA Revolvers. Yes, you will pay more. Here's a good forum that might help you on your revolver research. Handguns: The Revolver Forum - TheFiringLine Forums
  22. Mike, your avatar got even "whiter" than the last one. Suit and tie! Woo-woo.
  23. Go to Arms Fair in Cordova (Memphis). Cheapest FFL prices in town. Good people there too. Might find something you like right there.
  24. +1...just say "no" to Kydex, especially on a 1911.
