  1. Interesting texture/pattern. How'd ya do it?
  2. If you're zeroing in on .45 acp, go with a single stack 1911.
  3. My first choice would be to go back to the 1911, a Commander or Officer model. Not sure what you're going to find there in 9mm, and quite honestly I don't know that I would trust a 9mm 1911 for carry. I'd stick with the .45 acp. If you're really wanting 9mm, I'd look at the Baretta M9.
  4. Hmmm...not sure I'd do it, but you may want to pose the question out on the forum below. They have a huge Ruger Mark section. RimfireCentral.com - Rimfire Community!
  5. Keep it up Big O. Bloomberg's ratings in NY are dropping like a stone because of this same topic. Hope this helps his sink even lower.
  6. "He had a scant public record, but oddly this worked to his advantage." No kidding. And whatever records there were pre-Chicago have been destroyed. The "Manchurian Candidate" if I ever saw one.
  7. Nice. Pre-lock S&W's are da bomb!
  8. I've heard of folks putting up signs who didn't even have systems.
  9. Thanks for the clarification.

    Question

Any little half-moon cut-ins on the sides of the top anywhere?
  11. That's the impression I've had as well, that it had to be FFL to FFL. Seen stated a million times on Gunbroker.

    Question

I'd suppose so. Post a picture of the top. I'll bet it's got the notches.
  13. Man if I were the Prez those guys would be my best buds. I'd want them not hesitating to dive in front of one headed my way.
  14. Real nice rig. Congrats.
  15. Looks like some kind of blueberry cake?
  16. Supposedly Jimmy was such a micro-manager he was in charge of the White House tennis court reservations.
  17. Not bad. Before you repainted, did you find that the forend was scraping a line on the left side of the receiver (like mine is)? Not sure what the solution is.

    Ruger SP101 Review

Thanks Bearman. Kinda what I figured you'd say. I'm still liking the SP101 though.
  19. I'd love to shoot at least once a week. In reality it's once or twice a month. Weekly is kinda expensive. I went about a week ago, to RangeUSA. I've been thru a couple of their advanced classes so I can draw from holster on the line. That's really helpful for practical useful practice sessions. Just standing there reeling off rounds is fun sometimes, but it's not a realistic situation. At least to be able to draw helps get you a little closer to reality. As Halfpint suggested, you've got to come up with some drills, like the up close hip-shoot, malfunctions, top-off reloads, etc. Going to those advanced classes will give you some good things to take home. Heck dry firing with snap caps, holster drawing, etc. is good too.
  20. Perfect. The Carter one too.
  21. Great video. First let me say this...Phil was one of the original liberal TV host d-bags. That being said, I guess I'll give Phil some props for at least letting him speak. Nowadays it would have been the liberal host screaming at Friedman for being an idiot. That's the main difference I see between today and back 20-30 years ago. The left and right had their differences, but mostly the banter was somewhat respectful and civilized. Today it's a Morrie Povich episode whereever you turn and it goes both ways.
  22. Great testimony. Take that Mayor Daley.

    Name it?

Have never felt the calling. But, if so I would expect to use female names. Kind of like hurricanes (only female names back in the pre-lib days). Same concept. "Hell hath no fury as a woman scorned" - Shakespear

    Ruger SP101 Review

Nice pair Bearman. How do the triggers compare?
