  1. Agreed. This seems to be the situation (for some folks). It makes sense, and is why I'll never have an ambi safety 1911.
  2. Yeah, the recoil will drop off in the same manner as the loudness scale here.
  3. The .357 is going to be the loudest, then .38spcl+p, then .38spcl. That's the great thing about a .357 mag, you can run all 3. Be sure to clean your cylinders good after the non-357 rounds (shorter). To me buying a .38spcl when you can have a .357, is not the best way to go.
  4. Try to find out who's posted if you can. We'll eliminate those right off.
  5. Heads up, date changed to Dec. 11 (Saturday). Still looking for a few more location suggestions. Thx.
  6. Too funny 'winger. The funny thing in McW's ad is that in one sentence he actually pretends to care about our gun rights. What a laugh. Begrudgingly pulling the level for Haslam tomorrow.
  7. KC, how are you two with 12/11?
  8. I bet he didn't even know his company's policy before he made his statement.

    Preferences?

For carry, I'd go stainless. For the Range/Safe Queen....Blued (preferably as done by S&W)
  10. Steelharp... Didn't doubt you for a minute. I went hunting for more info and found this great article on the Swartz (I even had the wrong spelling) vs. the Series 80 FPB... Handgun safeties; the firing pin safety: second time around | American Handgunner | Find Articles at BNET
  11. Hi Neighbor.
  12. Ok, maybe I should have qualified this statement. If money is not a major factor... Have heard some less than stellar things about Charter. And that's recent too. Of course, most of that was garnered from internet forums where we all know only the truth is told.
  13. I have the first 2 pictured here. Both pretty good. The first (Vol. 1) is a little dated in the discussions it has about "then current" 1911's. However, one thing you'll find out is that the 1911 platform is pretty stable. Gun Price Guides, Gun Value Books, Firearms Pricing Guides - GunDigestStore.com
  14. Yeah and dinner will not be at Hogwarts. Lets hear some ideas. LINKS2K you're overdue for an appearance at one of these.
  15. Hate it for Romo, love it for Jerry.
  16. That they were.
  17. Ok, this one is kind of off the wall...so I'll play... S&W 500 with 8.38" bbl, compensator.
  18. Might want to consider confining your looking to S&W and Ruger.
  19. Aren't the Federal HST's the latest thing, surpassing the HydraShoks? I'd call G&A on Summer before I trucked over there to find nothing. Otherwise you might be looking online. I assume you went to BassPro in Bartlett? The last time I was there they had boatloads of FMJ. They usually don't have much to speak of when it comes to JHP 9mm, besides Golden Sabres.
  20. I'm in Memphis too. There's a couple of good places here, but not sure you can't do as well on that end of the state. Sorry....bump?
  21. Took me a couple of "typical" belts to figure that out myself.
  22. Leather: Gould & Goodrich.
  23. To slip between the holidays, "he who shall not be named" and I figured on December 11th at a centrally-located restaurant with space and low noise to avoid shouting. There won't be a poll yet, as we want to hear your ideas on the place. We'll do a poll later if necessary.
  24. I'd like to get an SP-101 for carry.
