I have a Stingray Carry in 9mm. Only complaints I have is the main spring housing is slick. Added grip tape to the front strap and the main spring housing and it is good to go. Shot it in a small IDPA match last week and managed to take 2nd place overall.

We have a set of the red OPS pattern Guuun Grips on my kid’s Tisas 9mm Commander. We like them pretty well.

My current favorite is the Glock 48 with PSA Micro Dagger 15 round magazines.

I worked and hiked around Glacier Park MT and backpacked in the Beartooth Mountains in MT a few times. While this is an unpopular choice, in addition to bear spray….. I either carried a Commander sized 1911 in 45acp or a Glock 17. Never felt under gunned with either one. I tried several ammo types out on hogs. 45acp I carried Remington Golden Saber 230gr ammo. Flat sharp edge of the hollow point seemed to have the least amount of deflection on head shots and none of the five rounds we put in the body of a 300lb pig expanded and resulted in complete pass throughs. In the G17 I carried 147gr truncated flat point FMJ for the same reason. Couple decades later my woods load of choice is Underwood 115gr Extreme Penetrators or Winchester 115gr Service Grade flat point FMJ in a pinch. Different strokes for different folks.

.22LR will absolutely kill a coyote dead. Biggest thing is making a fast and humane kill. I raise and butcher my own livestock. I've killed a lot of 400 + lb hogs with a single shot from a .22lr. You know your gun's capabilities and hopefully your own capabilities as well. If you are confident in the shot when it presents itself then take it. If not dont. Had a Shield and it is a decent enough gun but was looking for a single stack 9mm that doesn't incorporate the magazine floor plate as part of the griping surface which along with the trigger is what interested me about the BP9cc. I may have to compromise on that though. Gonna take another look at the LC9 and Glock43. XDs is not out of the question either as long as I can disable or pin the grip safety. Looking for first hand knowledge and opinions about the BP9CC. Been interested in it for a couple years now but have been putting off buying one to see what kind reputation/track record they develop. Handled it in the shop but haven't had the opportunity to shoot one as of yet. Hoping someone here can provide a little feedback. meh.... different strokes for different folks..... it just doesn't do it for me. I've owned a couple AR-7's in the past and just never warmed up to them either. Personally I would opt for a 10/22 Charger over the 10/22 takedown with the X-22 stock given the choice. For a backpacking/survival hunting gun I generally go one of two ways currently. One is a scoped Crickett .22lr with a stock full of ammo and a bore snake for the lightest weight option(3.5 lbs total package). Second setup is a Norinco ATD( Browning SA-22 clone) take down rifle. It is a bit heavier than my first setup but it gives me a takedown full size tube fed semi-auto rifle. If I were in the market for another takedown .22lr backpack/survival gun, I would likely opt for a Marlin Model 70 Papoose over the Ruger. It weighs less, costs less, very accurate and reliable and still has the option for larger capacity magazines. Don't get me wrong, I love 10/22's but like I said...... different strokes for different folks!

Check to see if the shops in your area are on Facebook. See if they can order them for you and at what cost. That is how I found my last stripped Anderson lower. Also check and see if your local shops have an online store. In some cases their distributers will have a premade site setup that they insert the shop's name and info in. You can place the order online and not have to deal with the transfer fee. I have a couple smaller local shops that operate this way. I was able to get a few guns cheaper by ordering them online from their website compared to the price quoted in store. I think they currently have stripped blemished lowers for $50. They also have a complete rifle lower with Magpul furniture right now for $150. I've bought quite a bit from them over the past year.

I wouldn't be too quick to discount the viability of the lowly .22lr. Chechen snipers used them to great effect against the Russians inside of urban/suburban areas. So much so that the Russians developed their own .22lr sniper rifle the SV-99. Israelis also used a suppressed 10/22 for a time. It is my understanding though they had intended to use it as a non-lethal deterrent and to disperse crowds/ rioters by shooting lead instigators in the legs and groin which inadvertently resulted in many deaths. Not saying all the guns should be .22lr... but several of them thrown in the mix is viable option. If nothing else they can be used in the same concept as the Liberator pistols were we dropped in France in WWII.

Mil-spec will have the m-4 feed ramps, 1/7 twist barrel, full auto bolt carrier group. Owned several pre&post AWB bushmasters. They are good guns. No need to sell the whole gun even if you did want to go milspec. Just get a complete top end and buffer tube and slap it on your bushy's lower. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
