The World of Contractor Work, All-Inclusive W2
oldmustangjunkie replied to CommsNBombs's topic in General Chat
Employees fill out a W4, receive a W2 at year end and have taxes and SS/MC deducted from their gross pay. Contractors fill out a W9, receive a 1099 and are responsible for their taxes, SS/MC at year/quarter end. It may be that the job is not permanent and they are labeling it as a contractor for that reason. -
If you're easily offended, DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER!!!!!!! O.k., you were warned..... Instead of whining about the government, and blaming everyone else because you don't have everything you desire, why not form a plan and do something about it? While the economy isn't the greatest right now, and our government leaders suck, many of us are still thriving and climbing the economic ladder. You can join us, or keep blaming someone else for your shortcomings. If this makes you angry, good. Perhaps it's the kickstart you need to figure out how to produce a product or service other people desire, and you have a genuine interest in. To be more successful than the next guy, you have to either be willing to do things most will not, or you'll need to know things others don't. Your employer nor the government is holding you back. IT'S YOU!!!!
AMEN! The only thing that stands between you and your dreams is YOU. I've made more money during this recession than the 6 years before it. Recognize trends and act on them. Change careers or increase your education level to climb the ladder. Borrow money at low interest rates and open a business. You can make money or you can make excuses.

TN Parent Arrested Trying to Pick Up His Own Kids

I know the Howes from drag racing at I40 Dragway. They are good folks. -
Benton, Have you been paying sales tax for the items you have sold? I can link you to the proper form if need be. You should cover all your bases.

What kind of dog is best about not wandering from property?
oldmustangjunkie replied to a topic in General Chat
Standard poodle: smart, territorial to unfamiliar people, friendly to children and friends, quiet, and the best hunting dog around. One of the most important things (that has already been mentioned) is to have only one dog and neuter it if you want it to stay home. -
I don't have any tats. I wanted to be different.

We have the platinum coverage(or whatever the highest level is) and it has more than paid for itself every year.
-
Yup. As long as they keep eating my yellowjacket nests, they can stay. If my dog gets sprayed, it's his problem.

squirrel hunting strategy and tactics
oldmustangjunkie replied to Fire/hunting guy's topic in Hunting and Fishing
Hunt on overcast days. Squirrels (and other animals) see shadows, fear they might be owls, hawks, etc and their survival instinct causes them to hide. -

ATV rebuild question-General knowledge wanted
oldmustangjunkie replied to maroonandwhite's topic in General Chat
Be sure and check all the valves and seats that weren't damaged and their clearances when you reassemble the motor. If the seat wasn't a defect from the factory, the problem could have been caused by too tight clearances. -

I'd expect the scenario you described to be the opposite--I had a friend with a Rhino and it ran way hot and locked up. Once it cooled down (and the swelling decreased) it was able to run again although it was in need of a new top end. But anything is possible. Try to turn the motor over with a ratchet, going both directions and see what happens. -

I noticed you live in the west side of TN, the mudhole zone. I know you don't think it has been sunk, but it's a possibility based on geography, so a bent rod from water ingestion is possible. Also, it's possible that the recoil mechanism got full of gunk, destroyed the crank seal and let the crud into the engine. -

Most likely, it was run out of oil. I've owned numerous Honda atv's and 3wheelers (I currently own an 05 Rancher and 83 ATC 110) and the only thing I've seen that stops them is lack of oil and it would likely seize the rod and main bearings before the rings. A broken timing chain would keep it from running but not lock it up. -
It's a non-issue. If you shell out around $500 for a trust/estate lawyer, you'll bypass probate and the inheritance tax. We have all our land/possessions secured in this way.

Yes. I'm not able to reload at the moment.

I went to Academy and purchased a Mossberg tactical plinkster and a 20" barrel Windham Varmint Exterminator. I'm not sure my wife's going to be able to handle a barrel that long. If anyone is interested in trading a 16" barrel AR for it, send me a pm. Academy is totally out of AR's other than a 999$ Bushmaster. They claim a new shipment is coming in on Sunday.

AR style rifles have disappeared form Academy.com's website also. They still have a few in stock on the floor according to the counter worker I spoke with.

Likely the Bear Hollow WMA now. That's in the Iron Gap/Estill Fork/Paint Rock River Valley area.
