  1. Real Debt Help - Get out of debt with Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover Plan. He's a financial guru with a facility in Brentwood. He has a syndicated radio show that airs in the greater Nashville area on 99.7 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM on weekdays, and a television show on the Fox Business Network at 7 PM. He's known for helping folks get out of debt, but does all aspects of financial counseling. I've heard him walk folks on the radio through similar situations on a regular basis, he or his team should be able to get you going the right direction.
  2. Enjoyable beers/ what I buy to keep in the fridge: Boddingtons Pub Ale. Tetleys Murphy's Stout (the beer of the evening, actually) Guinness Guinness Stout Drinking session/ the only others I can choke down if nothing good is available: Sam Adams Boston Lager Sam Adams Oktoberfest Most of the time I keep some Boddington's in the fridge, though they were out tonight so I've got Murphy's. Just recently tried some 1554 Black ale, by the people that make Fat Tire. I just bottled what should be a heavy German ale that I homebrewed, it tasted great when I bottled it; just flat. Hopefully I can report on it in a few weeks.
  3. Agreed. I work all over, I may be in Nashville for lunch, or I may be in Waverly, or even Kentucky. It would be much easier to do a supper meet.
  4. Screw the Ferrari ride, how much does one have to spend at Hero Gear to get to do that?
  5. We don't get much. The occasional first round of the playoffs, and every once in a while we whup on Detroit pretty hard. Let me enjoy my moment, alright?
  6. Tell them what? They've already made it clear that they don't want my money, I won't bother even setting foot in their establishment, much less telling them anything. Though, you would think that if they really cared about the issue they would take the time to learn what a proper sign is.
  7. That's great! Congratulations to the both of you.
  8. Wow, what a jerk. The first words that came to my mind were "Stupid kid..." I'd be interested in how (if) his sponsors respond to this.
  9. Let me know when you decide to head up, I may stop by myself. I've been meaning to go in and look around, just haven't done it yet.
  10. I missed it, will have to find it on YouTube I guess. That's what I get for watching stupid Detroit beat up on Pittsburgh...
  11. There's a surplus store in Castalian Springs that should have some. It's at the junction of Hwy 25 and Hwy 231. I drove by a week or two ago and they were unloading a trailer full of them. Not sure on prices.
  12. for about 200 bucks, I don't think you can beat a Mosin. If you shop around, you can probably get a rifle and 400-500 rounds of ammunition for 200 bucks, or maybe less. The rifles go for right around 100 bucks, and the last I priced ammunition it was about $60.00 for a sealed 440 round can. I imagine it's gone up a bit in the last month or two, but it's still a heck of a deal in my opinion. My only caution would be with the ammunition- while plentiful, and cheap, the surplus stuff has corrosive primers. They're not as big a deal as a lot of people make them out to be, but you need to clean the rifle within about 24 hours of shooting it, preferably the same day. Nothing special about cleaning it, but it doesn't hurt to run a couple of patches dipped in hot water down the bore before you clean like normal. That dissolves the corrosive salts left behind.
  13. Unless you have a carry permit, that is correct.
  14. Hush, you. Everyone has that game. I remember Detroit leaving Nashville with an 8-0 loss once, too.
  15. Yep, that's me. The current truck isn't really modified, but it's a classic. My last two trucks were Powerstroke diesels, had a '94 F-250 with stacks, and a few other go fast goodies, then bought the '02 F-350. Didn't have it too long before I realized that making a truck payment sucks and sold it. Planning to buy another one soon, probably won't get too extreme with the mods. I'm not much of a mod guy anymore, I just like driving unusual stuff. I'm eyeing an M35A2 right now... Just can't convince myself to buy it. Yet.
  16. It looks like this right now, though: It's a 1956 Ford F-350. Yeah, it's my only vehicle. 272 Y block V8, four speed, and 4:86 rear gears. Top speed is 55. Sold my 2002 Powerstroke F-350 4x4 and bought this. Slower, louder, hotter in the summer, but a great truck.
  17. I sent my email to the governor. However, I forsee this getting veto'ed. I feel like Bredesen has plans to continue his political career, and letting a bill like this get by would not sit well with his leftist party. Here's hoping I'm wrong, though.
  18. #1- Carry concealed. I've never been searched, or even asked if I was carrying, unless it was just a buddy that wanted to talk guns. #2- I'm not familiar with the route you'll be taking, but one of our east TN members should be along soon that can explain that a bit better. #3- So long as the cabin owner doesn't have any anti- gun rules, you should be free and clear. #4- It depends on the sign. Plain ole' "No guns allowed" or a circle with the slash through it isn't technically a legal posting, but the business owner/ manager can still ask you to leave. If you refuse, I believe you can be charged with trespassing. #5- I don't know, I'm sure someone will be along soon that does.
  19. I've been wanting to try that place, heard good things about it.
  20. For some reason, I thought municipalities had to properly post just like private properties. Learn something new here every day.
  21. I can be a Pens fan until they play the Predators. Heck, if I could see Pittsburgh beat up on San Jose, I might even go buy a jersey...maybe. Okay, maybe a Penguins T shirt. Yeah, I could do a t shirt if they ever smack the Sharks around.
  22. I received a reply to my "Thank you" email at 8:57 PM from Sen. Diane Black. Pretty simple, to the point. My email basically said "Thanks for your support of the bill and over riding the veto, I'll remember that the next time I can vote for you." Her response was an equally simple "You're welcome."
  23. ...In his party bunker beneath the governor's mansion?
  24. I'd highly recommend DM Bullard for a holster. You'd have to check with him to see if one is available for your gun (though I'd be surprised if it wasn't). Gun Leather, Concealment and Cowboy holsters, Azle, TX. Comp-Tac also makes a good holster that lots of folks like. I have a DM Bullard for my H&K, and I'm very hapy with it. As for a good light, check out SureFire. They make a bunch of different weapon lights, and their quality is superb.
