No Gun Signs Coming Down at Legislative Plaza
56FordGuy replied to 300winmag's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Suppose some local contractor publicly volunteered to remove the signs free of charge? -
Received my refund today, submitted 12-11-15. Check for the amount I asked for and $15 shipping.

Any of you guys with a Fluke that doesn't work right that you want to unload, shoot me a PM. :) I'm not joking. A lot depends on what the OP wants to test. AA batteries or 110 outlets, go grab some cheap import. It's (barely) a step above a 12 volt test light for automotive, but while the stuff I work on isn't as sensitive as what mikegideon sees, I've tried a lot of meters and a lot of 'bargains' just don't cut it. They aren't sensitive enough, don't react quickly enough, etc. I have an 87V that I depend on pretty much daily, and a 73 as a backup. The 7X series meters can be found cheap used, sub $50. They're solid, reliable tools. If you want a cheap import meter, grab one of the coupons for a free HF one.

You can pick up an older Fluke like a 73 for under $100.

There are coffee mugs?

Front differential in my truck is trashed......

Setting up a gear set properly takes knowledge and experience. A lot of guys just take it out and reuse the old shims with the new one, but to actually do it right is a bit trickier. Take it to a pro. -
I never found any that was great. Edleys is popular with the hipster crowd, Jacks and Center Point are fair. Top Hogg in Gallatin on Blythe is pretty good, but I wouldn't drive from Hendersonville to Gallatin just to eat there. Never got to try Martin's, but a friend in Mt Juliet liked it okay.

He's 11. I'm sure he was dumped in the parking lot, a dog fighting ring wouldn't surprise me at all.

I can't get over how much Cooper looks like our Tapper. We found him in the Kroger parking lot in east Nashville when he was barely the size of a softball. Here's hoping for the best for them all!

I wish you the best of luck, you're trying to do a good thing. We volunteered and served on the boards of two different large animal rescues, fostered, etc. That experience really changed the way I look at rescue organizations. I hope your work with the canine groups turns up nothing but the best.

I built an M16A1 clone, then purchased a Colt SP1 AR. I love the carry handle rifles.

Yup. I started parking at the empty warehouse across the street, could never get a spot in front of the actual restaurant. Joey's has some really good food, worth the wait and dodging traffic on Elm Hill.

This. Rifle Rods made a huge difference in the capacity of my safe. I also made a rule when I bought it, accessories don't go in. Guns and valuable things do, mags/ ammo/ holsters/ spare parts/ etc do not. The safe itself is pretty well organized, but there ,ay be a bunch of cardboard boxes full of other stuff in the closet beside it.

Go test drive a few. Subaru does AWD better than anyone and our 2005 Baja has a turbo 2.5 four cylinder engine that's got more power than I expected. It's never left me wanting more, but they have a 6 cylinder if you do. They redesigned the interiors sometime around '08-10 and made them much bigger inside. Seems like everybody has a Subaru out here. They're excellent cars in winter weather. I had a 3.5 EcoBoost in my work truck, it seemed like a good engine. Felt like it had more power than the Chevy 6.0 I have now.

What do you want to do in it? What's your location like, in town or further out? Personally I would go at least 14' tall. If you want to work on cars, sounds like you may want to put in a lift one day. Figure you're 6' tall, an average car is 4-5' tall so I would think you want 12' minimum for a lift. Trucks and SUVs will be even taller. If you ever sell the property the next buyer may have a semi tractor or RV that they'd like to park out of the weather, or you might just decide to put up pallet racking for more storage. What are you insulating for, to cool it in the summer or heat it in the winter? My shop was 30x40, and once you get work benches, storage and shop equipment (presses, tool boxes, welders, etc) in there it got small fast and actually took some rearranging to get a vehicle in. I was focused more on metalwork and fab than automotive though, so I had a few extra tables and things.

TEMA Declares State of Emergency ahead of winter storm

Yesterday. 60+ mph winds across the prairie drifted in the interstate. Life went on. Seriously, I hope this doesn't hit TN too hard. -
TEMA Declares State of Emergency ahead of winter storm

Fixed that for you. :) We had a 14" snowfall and school busses were still running. -
Company I used to work for serviced all the Walmart stores in TN and KY. The "neighborhood market" in Madison and near Gallatin Rd and Douglas by the diesel college were both just awful. The store at Charlotte and Harding was sketchy at times, but the two on Gallatin were the worst. Never had any problems in Rivergate, but that was before they tore down the Sams club and moved into that building. We rented equipment to the outfit emptying out the Sams building and they managed to wreck it though.

Ah, ole Looney Tunes. Always good for a chuckle. :biglol:

I do. You choose to have that job, you choose to perform those duties. You get to be responsible for the actions you engage in. But, I don't fly. TSA or not, I've made two round trip flights and I just don't like planes.

It would be nice, because that's definitely sarcasm. :)

They're just looking for the guys that robbed a store. We should all want to catch the bad guys, right? Stole some guns or shoplifted a loaf of bread, theft is theft. Checkpoints at every stoplight! Huzzah for freedom!

And I guess we're all supposed to be okay with random, warrantless vehicle searches...

Chick Fil A makes a damn good sandwich. There have been a lot of really great threads, but the gay threads have always been pretty legendary.

150 Somalian Muslim Workers Fired From Colorado Meat Packing Plant
56FordGuy replied to waynesan's topic in General Chat
I think it was Tyson that had a big hubbub a few years ago about employees wanting to be off for Ramadan. There's another meat processor in Colorado that is staffed 90%+ by Mexican and Somalian immigrants. They have a handful of interpreters that go to various departments in the plant as needed.
