  1. You missed a heck of a time today! Wound up not shooting much, but I did put a few magazines through the 1911 with the new grips. Much, much better than the old ones. Ribs, wings, friends, and good beer. Not a bad day at all. Everybody knows Erney will be the next Muppet to get knocked off.
  2. Yep, and I didn't think Calhouns was that much better. Interesting to note that both places have apparently posted now. I would love to know why they've just decided to post now, if they don't serve alcohol.
  3. Didn't you tell me I need to make some space for you and the Mrs. earlier today? Does that mean I have a green light to buy the SOCOM?

They're all forming a line in the ER, there were a lot of AD problems as they were attempting to re-holster them after they took the photo. :D:P
  5. And they don't understand, or care, why the Fourth of July is any different than the Fifth of May. For way, way too many people, it's all just a reason to drink beer and relax.
  6. Actually, aside from ammunition or loading stuff, I haven't made any gun related purchases lately. Maybe I should? The Socom sounds interesting, but I need to shoot one before I commit to buying the parts to build one. If only there was someone local that owned one, that might let me shoot it...
  7. I wouldn't expect it to be much different. That said, if I go put another 50 rounds through my M44, will you clean it for me tomorrow? I don't want to over expose myself to new guns, I'm already interested in XDs now. How will I ever build a Socom, if I keep spending the gun budget on pistols and milsurps, eh?
  8. Hmm...no kids, and I doubt I could train the dogs to do that...I do need to remember it, though. I've never shot a 91/30...
  9. Hey now! It's not the recoil, it's having to drag all the cleaning stuff out again. Oh, RW, y'all left your pack of targets here. Remind me about them if you come down tomorrow.
  10. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/firearm-accessories/22178-alumagrips-anyone.html There are a lot of AlumaGrips pictures in that thread. I think the website is Alumagrips - Home
  11. Put a few rounds through the M44 with Rightwinger and his better half this evening. Nice fireball out the muzzle. If it wasn't for having to clean it again, I'd go put a few more through it now that it's dark.

There's no tactical flashlight! How will you ever see your target without a super tactical flashlight? I want to see the IWB holster for the thing...or maybe I dont....:-\
  13. With the squirrel on the stock, it's an older Glenfield Model 60. Same exact gun, just some trivial information to go along with it. When you say the tube won't open, do you mean the end cap won't turn, or it won't slide out? If it won't turn, check the outer portion of the tube. There's a little nub on the inner portion that goes into a slot on the outer section. If the slot gets bent a little, it can hang that nub and lock it in place. If it won't slide out, try this. Open the bolt and lock it back. Looking down in the chamber, you'll see a little red plastic plunger that sticks out of the magazine tube. Check to see if it's hanging up on the feed ramp. My model 60 does that a lot. Take a flat screwdriver and push the end of the red plunger toward the rear of the stock, then down. Turn the tube and slide it out while holding the plunger down, so it doesn't try to hang up again. Welcome to TGO, too!
  14. Pre 4th, 4th, or "It's Friday evening and I just feel like shooting stuff", I'm always up for shooting regardless of the reason. I found out this afternoon that we're off work tomorrow. Got some things to do in preparation for the 4th tomorrow, but hopefully should be free by three or four tomorrow afternoon. If you want to ride down, we can find some stuff to shoot at.
  15. Honestly, with all the misinformation out there about the law, and gun related laws in particular, I seriously doubt that the majority of improperly posted businesses have incorrectly posted intentionally. I'd bet most just don't know any better.
  16. I'm planning to put a few rounds through the M44 tomorrow, since I don't have to work. Maybe a few more Saturday night when the neighbors break out the fireworks. The fireball and the sound oughta get their attention. Then again, they seem to be accustomed to shooting at all hours coming from the field around my house. Don't really notice anymore.
  17. Two points from me on this. One, go buy Diamond Gusset (Diamond Gusset Jeans | Official Web Store) jeans. They're the only one's I'll buy anymore. Unbeatably comfortable, tough as nails, and 100% American made, from the cotton to the store. I'm hard on jeans, and these things have outlasted my last three pair of Wranglers. Well worth the price. Two, I love my AHolster. I bought it based on TGO David's review, and I love it. Took about two weeks to arrive, and just disappears in a pocket. I'd definitely reccomend it.
  18. Maybe it's all on the downswing, bringing America to it's end. Sure looks that way a lot more lately, but what does that matter? We have two choices. Turn the channel to some reality show, drink a beer, and just let it happen, seems to be what most of America has been doing for a while. Or, we fight it. We call our representatives, we show up to the rallies, we buy WalMart out of golf balls and make the mail trucks break suspension parts. Will it work? Maybe...maybe not. But at least we can say we did all that we could do. Might get punched in the nose, but that doesn't mean we can't fight, claw, and cuss 'till we hit the ground and can't get up anymore.
  19. I've got that exact same grill. Really great. My only complaint is with the handles on the main grill. I'd prefer if they were made like the one on the smoker box.
  20. I can only wonder what event made them feel it necessary to add that.
  21. Boy ain't that the truth. That was a bad night...grass still hasn't come back. Bull! O'Doyle Rules!
  22. Good to know America has it's priorities right. After all, what could be more important than Michael Jackson?
  23. I've got my Tech license, but haven't been active in probably 5 years.
  24. Good to know. I guess small pistol primers are too soft for small rifle loads, then? Here's hoping the bubble bursts soon, I need some .30 carbine bullets.
