  1. I sent Lee an email last night with a picture, I'll be sure to let y'all know how they respond. I did loosen the three bolts that hold the top section down, regardless of how I positioned it, retightened, etc, it didn't change anything. I appreciate the input, but I've tried rotating the shell holder to various positions and it doesn't affect the line up problem.
  2. Just curious, what're the specifics of the load? Charge, bullet, OAL, any chance to shoot it yet?
  3. The dogs killed a snake in their kennel today.
  4. A lot of the guys I've known that bobbed Deuces added air assist steering. You want cool? I've seen pictures of an M818 with a deuce bed on it, I'll try to find it. Now that's cool.
  5. +1 If you're terribly worried about it, just rotate it out on your trips to the range. Shoot the old stuff, put the new stuff in the safe.
  6. I pity da foo' dat done shot Mr. T's fam'ly...
  7. Thanks for the info. We haven't looked at any of the cost/ etc for shotshell reloading, he just happened across this stuff somewhere. Once I get more information, we'll figure out where to go with it. The press came with a lot of 16 gauge hulls, there's a chance it's a 16 gauge press I reckon.
  8. It's okay, you don't have to blame your 13 year old. We know your first thought was Justin Timberlake. It's okay man, you are among friends... just come on out. :P
  9. The neighbors are shooting fireworks again...
  10. Yep, that's pretty much it. That's partially why I posted this, to see if other turret press users had this issue. On mine, if I take a case, size it, expand it, and go to seat a bullet in it, unless I push the case inward just a bit, it will crush it on the edge of the seating die.
  11. It's as if the shell holder is not going far enough into the ram. The shell is hitting the edge of the die on the outside. If you look carefully at the first picture, you can see the brass is slightly off center compared to the die, it is closer to the right side.
  12. My buddy came up yesterday, and we took a look at the shotgun reloading gear he picked up. The press is a MEC model 650. From my research, it seems like these are gauge specific. Does anyone know if that's right?I'm going to try to contact the manufacturer tomorrow and see about getting an owners manual, because I'm not quite sure how this thing works. Likewise, it came with a small box of what I assume are dies. Lastly, in among a box of various shotgun loading components was a box of Remington #97 shotgun primers. Someone mentioned before that the older primers are a different size than the newer hulls, are these suitable to use with modern hulls?
  13. That's why you put the bottles on the kitchen counter, so you can count them the next morning. That, and the dump charges me to throw them away, but I can recycle them for free.
  14. Ever since I began using my turret press, I've been having an issue with it. At first, I thought it might be normal, due to varying mass- production tolerances, etc...however, as I was looking into a tumbling issue with my loads, I learned that this might well be the cause. The problem is that the shell, when in the shellholder, does not line up exactly with the die above it. All it takes is a very slight pressure with your thumb to get it to slide into the die. I'd guess it's off by 1/16 of an inch or so. It does this with multiple die sets, in different calibers. All three of the rods are tight, as are the bolts holding the top section. The groove for the shell holder to snap in is clean as well. I'm planning to contact Lee about the issue tomorrow, but I figured I would post it here and see if anyone has experienced this before. I have a couple of pictures and a very low quality video of the problem. http://s178.photobucket.com/albums/w269/frostedford/?action=view&current=025.flv
  15. I try not to get angry often, so I make up for it by drinking heavily. That's healthy, right?
  16. I'm feeling alright today. Had somewhere around 12 beers and half a bottle of wine from about 3:00 PM to whatever time I fell asleep in my chair. Woke up just fine this morning. My mother's side of the family is Irish, my father's side is German. I was just born to be drunk and angry.
  17. But, but...I read it on the internet! It has to be true! Just like the guy that told me all the primers were being bought by the Obama administration and placed in a bunker underneath the White House! I've heard more gun related rumors, half thruths, and outright lies in the last six months as I have my entire life up until January '09.
  18. Ah, I see. XD, M&P, it's all just black plastic to me...hey, that rhymed. No collection is complete without a .38 snubbie.
  19. What's the one on the bottom, an XD?
  20. Unless they're properly posted, or in a building that is properly posted, I believe that they're okay.
