  1. But it is different. HCP holders, unlike cops, have the option of leaving. If I see a guy pointing a shotgun at himself, my first plan of action is to leave before he has the opportunity to point it at me, then call the police. Police officers do not have the option of leaving the scene and having someone else deal with it. They are the 'someone else'. If six permit holders shot someone who was pointing a gun at himself, they'd be in some deep trouble, because they could have called the police. Who do you expect the officers in this situation to call? I think there's more to this story. Like another poster said, it's funny how everyone screams media bias unil it agrees with them. Like I said before, I give police officers more credit than thinking that they're just itching to shoot someone because they're the police.
  2. I'd like to hear another report on this before drawing any conclusions. Honestly, the suicide by cop theory seems the most logical to me right now. I have several friends who are cops, and contrary to the apparent popular belief, most officers are not walking around just itching to shoot someone. "Look, he's gonna kill himself, let's beat him to it!" Do you really, really think that's the mentality of our officers? I give them a lot more credit than that.
  3. I may be missing it, but what's the address of this place? I'm supposed to be at a customer in that area in the morning, I'd like to stop in if they're open that early.
  4. Lately the stock has been low, and the prices do seem a little high. However, I've always received good service, and it works out cheaper for me to buy a lot of stuff local than to order it. A HUGE +1 to this. Don't buy in bulk until you find a load your gun likes. I've got about 100 .38 bullets sitting on my bench that don't shoot well out of my 642. I'd be pretty upset if I'd ordered 1,000 of them and they didn't shoot well. Don't load large batches at first, either. Load 10 or 20, then go shoot them. Play with the load a bit in small batches until you find a combination that shoots well out of your gun, then buy in bulk and load larger numbers at once. It would stink to load up 200 rounds, then discover that you can't hit the broad side of a barn with them.
  5. This little Ruger is one of the most fun guns I own. I always put off buying a .22 handgun, but once I did it I kicked myself for not doing it sooner. Thanks y'all!
  6. I get 9-10 in my personal truck on the highway. Haven't measured my work truck, but I'd guess it's about 12.
  7. You feeling uncomfortable?
  8. I've never liked antifreeze because of potential leak issues around the dogs. A small issue, but still possible. Likewise, I think some other fluids weigh more per gallon. I have calcium chloride in the tires right now, because the tires were filled that way when I bought the tractor. I may be replacing the drive tires before too long, when I do I'm planning to go with the washer fluid.
  9. Looks pretty nice! I'd probably slot it, but that's just me.
  10. You could always cut it off closer to the ground and have a couple of camp fires on it. Or a few pounds of Tannerite under it, but the neighbors might get upset.
