  1. Warranty already activated.
  2. It's happened. There have been a few military vehicle collectors that had dummy guns displayed on their military vehicles, while driving them. Sometimes you just get funny looks, other times you're on the side of the road for hours sorting things out with local law enforcement. I wouldn't recommend trying it.
  3. How do the promo codes work? I've got a Sirius radio, I'll see if I can get a promo code.
  4. I heard on the radio this afternoon that Wilson County will not be participating in the broadcast.
  5. Instead of a removable box type magazine (Ruger 10/22, AR-15, etc), it has a fixed tube below the barrel that serves as the magazine. Marlin Model 60, Remington 552, 572, most pump action shotguns and lever action rifles.
  6. You, me, the mom and two kids on the side of the road; nobody's immune. I had a International semi tractor catch on fire sitting in the shop one night with nobody around it. Battery cables had rubbed the frame, and just shorted out and set the insulation on fire, which caught the underhood insulation. Glad we were there when it happened. Anyway, I keep an extinguisher in all the vehicles now. Actually need to get another one for the work truck. I've got a couple of 5 gallon cans, I can throw one in the truck. Need to fix the floor first, or it may just fall through and hit the ground.
  7. I can throw a gas can back there. I keep a fire extinguisher in the cab too...just in case.
  8. I don't have an issue with the President of the United States telling kids to stay in school and study hard. However, the fact that Barrack Obama is the man doing it makes me suspicious. I don't fully trust anything that he proposes, because everything he has attempted to do during his time in office has served only to push this country further toward socialism. Why should we believe that this will be any different?
  9. Honestly, if you're new to shooting, I'd go buy a Ruger 10/22 or a Marlin Model 60. It's a .22, and they're both great guns. They're accurate enough to have a blast with, and cheap to shoot. Both are great for learning the basics of shooting, trigger control, etc. My Model 60 is one of my most often shot guns. If you just want something bigger, the Mosin isn't a bad deal. Recoil is definitely noticeable, though. You said Gander Mountain is out of them, but you might check your local gunshops. They're fairly common right now, so finding a place that has one in stock shouldn't be hard.
  10. Flatbed's 9 feet long and about 7 feet wide. Should fit plenty of broke down two wheelers. So long as the floor holds, anyway. I should have that fixed by then, though.
  11. What about an ugly old green truck? Sounds like a fun drive, but I don't have a bike. Would it be okay for a 53 year old tow rig to tag along? I can bring some tie down straps, just in case... Sidenote, speed limit for most of the ride is 55, correct? I'd hate to slow y'all down...
  12. I might be able to do monthly. I hate that we had to leave so early, sounds like the MP5 came out after we left. Ah well. Instead of shooting an MP5, I got to wake up at 3:45 AM and take a truck to Knoxville. That's just as fun, right? I need to shoot more at home if I plan on doing the TGO shoots. Maybe then I'll be able to shoot a halfway decent group when people are watching.
  13. I have to say, y'all are a great group; to a fault. I thought I knew what I wanted in a .45, then I got to shoot David's HK45, and logicprevails let me shoot his Para. Now, I can't decide. That HK was nice...but that Para was nice, and small...but the HK was really nice...y'all suck. :D It really was great to meet y'all, and thanks to Daniel for setting this up. Had a lot of fun.
  14. Just got it, had a lot of fun. Nice bunch of folks, good to put some faces to some screen names.
  15. I wouldn't say heartbroken. I'm hoping to get a turn with the MP5, too. Anyway, range bag is packed, and ready to go.
  16. I've got one, but it's not a Tempur-pedic. I love it. It took a week or two to get used to it. I'd say go for it!
  17. Poor, non delivering customer service. I ordered some tractor parts last Tuesday. I prepaid, too. The parts guy told me to expect them in about a week, and that they would call me. I didn't hear from them, so I stopped by today to check on things. The guy behind the counter looked, check a file, then just shrugged and told me to try again Monday. I explained that I've been waiting almost two weeks. He shrugged again and said "Well, that's just how it goes..." I try to be laid back. I'm running old equipment. I understand it will break down, I realize that it's more difficult to find parts for a 40 year old machine than a 4 year old one. But the lack of service irritates me. If they had called me after a week and explained what was going on, I wouldn't mind as much. Heck, if the parts guy today had even acted like he gave a rat's behind I'd be far more forgiving. But now? They've seen the last of my money. If my parts come in Monday, I'll not spend another dime there. If they don't show up, I'm asking for a refund and I'll find them myself. It's disappointing, too. I've spent a lot of money with these folks on new equipment. The service was never super amazing, but it was good enough that I wanted to support the local guy. Now? Not a chance. Maybe I'm spoiled. I'm an equipment mechanic for a dealership. Even on older equipment, if we don't have it in stock at our shop, we have it the next morning. Really! If you call in at 4:00 PM and need something, 9.5 times out of 10 we have it by 8:00 the next day. If we don't, you can bet that there's a good reason, like "This piece has to be custom built at the factory, as it's a major component of your equipment." Not "Well, that's just how it goes..." I could UPS something from California and have it here in under two weeks!
  18. If you really, really want to study up on flashlights, check out CandlePowerForums $60-80.00 sounds about right for an E1, and SureFire's customer service is top notch. I've personally called them and said "I dropped my light onto bricks and broke it, I need to send it in for repairs." They covered it under warranty. I told them up front that it was my fault it broke, and they still covered it. I've carried my current EDC Surefire daily for about 4 years. I've put in a couple of bulbs and some batteries, that's it. It's been dropped in almost everything imaginable, run over, used as a hammer, prying tool, fallen off of equipment, etc. I can't recommend them enough if you want the best.

I have a Ruger MK III, and I love it. It's incredibly accurate. I haven't broken it down yet, just cleaned where I could get to with a cotton swab and the rest with Gun Wash. No problems yet.
