  1. A schedule of events would be nice, also. We got there about 11:30, and left somewhere around 1:30, sounds like we missed quite a bit.
  2. How would you say it compares to the Dual Carry?
  3. I'm not saying this to be a 'homer', but honestly my few complaints are 'victim of it's own success' type of things. It was a hike back up to the event from where we parked, because there were tons of people and all the close spots were full. We wound up walking from the Barrett facility. Likewise, it was pretty packed and hard to move around inside the OutPost due to the volume of people. Overall, pretty good. The weather could've been better, but not much y'all could do about that.
  4. I actually did take my camera, but forgot all about getting pictures. We got there a bit late, just in time to walk up and hear Phil Valentine speak. It was fun, good to see folks and put some new faces to names. The OutPost was packed. Went in the first time and had to go back outside, simply because there was no room to move. I saw some folks walking around that looked like a news crew, did any TGO members get interviewed?
  5. I wonder if the family will get a bill from the Emergency Services for them having to respond?
  6. Short answer: If he asks, then yes. There have been several discussions on informing vs not before the officer asks.
  7. So, I went to the Predators game last night. About the first half of the first period, they played okay. Then it...didn't go well, and the game ended with a 6-1 loss to the Edmonton Oilers. Then tonight, I watched the Detroit Red Wings play the Buffalo Sabres. The Wings lost, 6-2. Don't get me wrong, the Predators were awful. But at least we took the Sabres into a scoreless overtime. We still lost (1-0), but we got a point. It's just nice to see the Wings lose by 4. That's all.
  8. I agree. I bought the Lee because they seemed to be a good starter press, and of reasonable quality for the price. I'd say that most of them probably are. I think I just got one with issues. That said, I looked at a 550 in person yesterday, and I liked it. I'm ready to upgrade from the Lee, I just want to be sure that I've done enough research to get the right press for my needs.
  9. Truth. I had a '94 F-250 with a 7.3 PSD, had it for years. Moved to an '02 F-350, crew cab, dually, 4x4, 7.3 PSD. Sold it, for a variety of reasons. Worked on more semi trucks than I can count. Now I'm looking for another F-350 with a 7.3. No more performance stuff, though. Going fast is fun, but it doesn't get me too excited anymore. I just want to haul my tractor above 55 MPH with the radio on.
  10. HexHead is correct, just added that little note. If he is a resident of another state, legally the two of you have to go to an FFL dealer in TN and have them transfer it to you, complete with a background check.
  11. News Channel 5 in Nashville just did a short piece on this. They went to the RK show in Franklin, talked to some folks. They said Bloomberg was sending his report to Congress and asking for a law to require all private sales to go through a background check.
  12. I may take you up on that. I was leaning toward the Dillon 550, but the bullets make for a really good deal. Almost good enough to make me want to do that even if I did buy a Dillon. I am using Lee .30 Carbine dies, but I haven't noticed the sizer under sizing the brass. Mine doesn't bulge with a 110 grain FMJ. Like I said, I think I just got that one press out of a thousand, or however many, to have issues. Most of them I hear about are running fine.
  13. I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed in my loading equipment. I bought a Lee Turret Press Kit. It seemed like a good deal, and at the time I found it to be highly recommended. Unfortunately, my experience has not been so fortunate. I've loaded under 1,000 rounds on the unit, and plan to make the 3rd service call to the factory on Monday. I loaded on the unit for a bit, before discovering Issue #1: the turret ring didn't line up properly with the ram. I made a post covering that issue, and the resolution I received from Lee. Loosen mounting bolts, pry things to where they need to be, retighten bolts. I had a few small issues afterwards, but the most irritating was with the included Lee Auto Disk powder thrower. This thing leaks. It seemed like I was winding up with almost as much powder on the loading bench as I was in the brass. Tonight, I sat down to load a bit for my carbine. Long story short, the auto index mechanism failed tonight. The press works, but the turret has to be rotated by hand. I've been told of this happening before, due to part of the mechanism being made of plastic. However, I'm pretty unhappy that I've loaded under 1,000 rounds on this press, and plan to make the third service call on Monday. I think Lee will replace the plastic piece under warranty, but I'm disappointed that they need to. I understand that Lee is a budget line, and I realize that things will wear out and break, but I've yet to load 1,000 rounds. I've yet to go through a whole box of primers, or even a pound of powder, but I'm on the third call for an issue with the equipment. Overall, I think I just got a lemon of a press, or I expected too much for the price point. I hope so, anyway. I'd hate for the rest of the Lee press users out there to be dealing with the number of issues I have. Granted I'm only on service call 3, but there have been multiple minor annoyances that didn't warrant calling about, such as the turret moving inside the turret ring and changing the cartridge OAL, or the primer mechanism slinging itself out of the ram. How are the other Lee turret presses holding up out there?
  14. I disagree! I have been stopped in Manchester when several thousand pounds under weight, and gone through in some of the worst looking, cobbled together trucks you can imagine. I know one driver that got pulled in and inspected because our company runs clean, well maintained trucks, and the THP officer needed to get one more inspection done. Our rig looked quick and easy, so our guy got stopped.

    Knob Creek

One M35A2, and two Mules? Knob Creek just got that much better. :D
  16. Usually, it's $10.00 unless you have the $1.00 off coupon.
  17. I'll keep an eye out for it. Honestly, I'm surprised they got one truck and not the other. In my experience, most fleet trucks are keyed alike. The last time I worked 'in house' for a trucking company, all our 'Brand X' trucks took Key Y, all of our 'Brand C' trucks took Key A, etc... I take it y'all don't have GPS systems on the trucks? Keep us updated on this. I've wondered how a stolen truck would play out. Theoretically, I would think it would get tagged at the first weigh station it went through after being reported stolen. However, if it never left the city, might be far easier for it to go away...
  18. I've been wondering this myself. The only sign I've seen states what SureShot posted from their website, except for the last sentence. The sign states "No dangerous devices" but says nothing specific about firearms. It's above the doors inside the entrance way. For the hockey games, they do not pat you down. They do check purses and bags, but in three seasons of hockey I have yet to see anyone patted down or scanned with a metal detector. Concerts, fights, or other events may be handled differently, though.
  19. I'll PIF a collapsible stock for an AR. This is a Tapco brand stock, standard M4 style. I bought it for the buffer tube assembly, because I wanted to finish my AR build. I have never even installed it on the rifle. Does not include the buffer tube assembly, as I'm using that. I believe it's black, but in the right light it looks slightly green. First PM gets it. Still have the packaging with it.
  20. It seems like I remember someone suggesting something like that... Sighted in the new EOTech tonight. In the rain. Conditions just right? I guess pink tinted lowers are scared to go out in the rain?
  21. Hey now, I have a Spikes lower. Bought it from y'all over a TI because it came with magazines. Otherwise, I agree.
  22. They might have thought that since it's on consignment through a store, they could get it cheaper directly from you. Maybe they don't know what it's worth, or think you're desperate? Maybe they're just cheap. I know a guy who makes a practice of offering 50% of asking price on used stuff and haggling upwards from there. If I'm buying something used, from an individual, I expect to haggle a bit. How much depends on how badly I want the item, how long it's been for sale, etc. I wouldn't worry about it. Give him your best price and let him decide if it's worth it.
  23. Loved the commercial. I like the Bronco, too. Not as much as the early models, but still pretty nice.
