  1. That's why you use a shotgun, don't even have to aim. Just point and pull.
  2. "...Kennesaw, Georgia enacted a similar law in 1982 requiring every household to own a firearm, exempting those with criminal records or religious objections. Opponents argued the law would result in serious accidents and that angry residents would settle their differences with gunfire. Happily, those predictions never materialized." 12/03 A Gun In Every Home?
  3. Great truck. Really great truck. You should post it over on steelsoldiers.com, there are a couple of other gun truck owners over there. I believe there is a gun truck event in east Tennessee once a year or so, as well.
  4. Somehow, I'm not too worried by this. However, it does officially make our hobby 'greener' than golf. Go on, go see how long it takes a paper target to decompose. Take that, enviro-nuts.
  5. Henderson, TN, is also not in Henderson county.

Both are good, but I disagree on the Mossberg being more lefty friendly. I shoot left handed, and actually prefer the 870. I can work the slide release with the middle finger of my left hand, engage the safety with my trigger finger, and disengage it with the left hand middle finger. The last Mossberg I handled (it's been a while) had the safety too far up on the back of the receiver, I had a hard time working it with my thumb. Just my Didn't know about the elevators, though. Interesting.
  7. Good, general advice is don't do it. If you're going to, you will need significant liability insurance, along with an 06 FFL. If you're seriously interested in it, go for it. I would think you would need to do quite a large volume though, to justify the costs and the time. I think insurance would be the biggest thing. Even if you loaded 100% perfect ammunition, you can expect to get sued if someone fires that 100% good ammunition in a weapon that is, for whatever reason, unsafe to shoot, and the weapon fails.
  8. Discount or not, I plan on trying some of their bullets soon. Heard good things, and prices seem fair.
  9. I don't think so. I believe 5.56 can shoot both, but .223 can't.
  10. Which end of Briley parkway were you on, east (by the airport) or west (by the prison)? I've never used the one on the west side of Nashville on White's Creek Pike, but there is another UPS hub off of Massman Drive, which is just a few minutes off Briley over by the airport on Elm Hill Pike. I've shipped ammo through them several times, never had any questions. I believe their firearms policy is on their website, might help to print it off and take it with you.
  11. I believe that is the HK 94. They can be found, but are noticeably more expensive than the GSG-5.
  12. Correct, that was supposed to be I-40. The owner at Guns For America is a great guy, but the last time I was in there the selection was rather small. Worth stopping by if you know what you're looking for, but not so much if you're just browsing to look at different guns. Just my opinion.
  13. The only storefront in the area I'm aware of with a large selection of reloading supplies is the Reloader's Bench. Get off I-40 at exit 226, go right. It's just before the Arby's on the right. Otherwise, check out Guns N Leather up in Greenbriar, or if you're up for a drive, Hero Gear in Winchester.
  14. What you should've done is gotten us a picture of it. Sounds like a great family heirloom. Maybe see if he wants to shoot it with you? Do you have any kids that might appreciate getting to shoot their grandfather's gun with him?
  15. I was a diesel guy, my ASE tests didn't have anything like that on them. Those must be the reason the government bought Chrysler. Cheaper to get the whole company, than to get enough of those encabulators.
  16. 39-17-1359 is vague, for sure. I think it could be argued, under the current law, that the intent of any "No Guns" sign would be substantially similar to posting a sign as described. Would there be any harm in requesting an attorney general's opinion on the matter? I understand that it doesn't change the law, but perhaps it could be clarified a little that way. It seems to me that there must be some reason no one has done that yet.
  17. Oh, I see what you did there... Really, no idea how I goofed that one up. I saw October, I thought October, for some reason I thought October 10th was this weekend. Obviously, it is not.
  18. Saw it on the RK website. Anyone plan on going?
  19. The article mentioned "Agents also found a 5.56mm caliber rifle and a .45 caliber machine gun inside his home." I'd guess maybe an M4 and whatever the .45 was. I'd think NFA items either way. Or, liberal media spin. Coin toss, could be either...
  20. Congratulations! What class license did you get? A note on your callsign, maybe a little . Just remember that when anyone looks it up, they can see your address.
  21. +1 If you'll buy a heater core, and can't get by XD's shop, I'm just up the road from you. If you want to drive out one weekend or evening, we'll put a heater core in.
  22. I saw that on another forum, but can't remember where. I believe the story was "second round of factory ammo blew up the brand new gun." I doubt that story, though. Second round of reloads, maybe...
  23. I believe muzzle loaders can be bought without doing a 4473, but I'm not positive on that.
