The organization and the fans do a fair job of supporting the troops. There have been several times that a group of soldiers would go to the game, and wind up on the MegaTron. I can't remember once that they haven't been cheered or applauded. Likewise, I remember one game there was an elderly gentleman there with his grandson. They put him up on the screen, sitting in his wheelchair. Across the bottom they game his name, and noted that he was a WW2 veteran that had served in the Pacific. He received a standing ovation. Not too long ago, the team went to Ft. Campbell (pretty sure that's where they went) and spent some time training with the soldiers. They put a big article about it in the magazine thing you get at the game.

I was there. I didn't see you, but I did see Marty Erat get a hat trick! No, really!

I have a Lee Turret press. I would advise you to get a single stage press first, then if you decide to upgrade go to a real progressive press.

WAIT! WAIT! Everybody keep breathing! Open a carbonated beverage! Shoot some paintballs! Please, someone please think of the plants! You'll kill them all! Oh, someone save the trees! Quick, everybody breath on the trees! They're going to regulate away all the co2 and the trees will die! Please, save the redwoods! Awful bunch of ruckus over a gas that makes up four hundredths of one percent of the atmosphere. I have to admit, I'm actually waiting to see if the greenies are smart enough to realize that they just contradicted themselves.

Just got done putting more wood in the stove here. Pictures would give a better impression of what we're dealing with. It's possible that your house originally had a wood burning fireplace that was later converted to gas. If that's the case, you may be able to switch back to wood fairly easily. In any event, get it checked out by a pro. Even if we could positively ID it as a wood burner, we can't tell you about the actual condition of the rest of the system. Find a local stove store or chimney sweep. That said, I just like burning wood. It sounds like the OP just wants a nice weekend fire, not a new heating source. Using wood for primary heat is a ton (literally) of work, and can cost a bunch of money on the front end. You can get by with one saw, a pickup truck and an 8lb maul. On the other end, you can have tractors and dump trucks and hydraulic processors that cut and split whole logs onto conveyors into the truck. Labor reduction is the name of the game. If you paid yourself for your time, it would be hard to come out ahead. Equipment helps, but then you have to buy, maintain, and fuel it. To me, it's worth it. For some reason, I just enjoy it. I even enjoy the work that goes into it, to a point. It's nice to open the electric bill in the winter months and find that it's gone down from the summer, too.

Last time I did the math, I was loading jacketed 9mm for around $6.00 per 50. Worth doing, in my opinion. Especially if you want to reload other calibers also.

Mind if I ask how much?

Before you start burning wood, you need to have it checked out. Check to see if you have a wood stove dealer around that could come look at it for you. If it's a gas system, you could have the wrong flue and the wrong type of firebox to burn wood. The firebox for a gas insert is made of sheet metal and is not designed for the heat of a wood fire, due to the lack of firebrick. If you're serious about heating with wood, look into getting a wood stove. They're far more efficient than open fireplaces, and usually more efficient than wood burning inserts.

Is it simply a set of gas logs installed in an existing fireplace, or a gas log insert installed into a fireplace?

You sir, are a braver man than I am. I was thinking a bullet puller, or maybe some Vise-Grips...

Weird! Something is wrong. If the only thing in that can was ammo and desiccant packs, I'd get rid of all those desiccant packs that might be in other cans. Brass doesn't usually discolor/ react like that by itself, something had to come into contact with it to make that happen. I'd toss that ammo, for sure. If you could do it safely, it might be interesting to pull one of the bullets and see if the powder was affected. Junk either way, but inquiring minds want to know.

If you draw your carry weapon, your attacker will simply run away. You don't need any training beyond your HCP class. If you are ever in a situation that requires you to draw, you will rise to the occasion and perform just like in the movies. Or, barring that, see above. Carry a semi auto without a round in the chamber, because it's safer that way. If ever attacked, you will have time and a free hand to rack the slide.

I believe that the Ranger is assembled in St. Paul, Michigan, and the Escape is assembled in Kansas City, Missouri. That's what I found doing a quick Google search, so it could be outdated. I didn't see a date on it. That's just assembly, though. Expect it to have a lot of parts imported from Mexico and China, if not a few other countries also. If you want to get back to a real 'all American' Ford, you'll have to look back at least to the 60's, maybe the early 70's. Honestly, if you want a vehicle that's produced here, I'd look at Nissan or Toyota. I know Nissan has a couple of large plants here in Tennessee, and their North American headquarters is in Cool Springs. Toyota has an engine block plant outside of Jackson. They also have lots of supporting vendors here that produce and warehouse parts for them also.

Hasn't she learned not to question the administration? Silly commoner...

I'd vote for option #3 also. I've bought and sold guns, but there are a few that I keep solely for their sentimental value. It sounds like the Sig has some sentimental value to you, so I would hang onto it if you can.

Ideally, a .22 would be good. The range where you take the shooting portion of the course will probably have one available, at least to rent.
-
You can also sign up on GunBroker and search the completed auctions. That way you can search what guns have actually sold for, not just what the starting bid is.

Either would do it, Massman is just on your side of town. I've never used White's Creek, though. It might be worth buying an inexpensive hard case to ship it in, then put that inside a cardboard box. Yeah, I don't want to know...
-
If it's the .458 you're shipping, then none of them will. They'll all refuse and send you home. I'd go to the one over on Massman Drive. Package it up well, and have the FFL information. Should be simple enough. I've shipped through them several times with no hassles.

What brand is it? Engine? When you say lawn tractor, I think MTD style heavy duty riding mower with an air cooled engine. I've had leaves build up enough to smolder, but never enough to actually catch fire. Glad the damage was as minimal as it was. I'd like to see some pictures, might not be as bad as it appears. 56Ford(and old tractor)Guy

Restaurant Carry Law ruled Void!
56FordGuy replied to raydog1's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I think the answer is to simply allow carry anywhere alcohol is served. Restaurants, 'bars', places operating under special liquor licenses, etc, unless they post. No more concern about what a restaurant is. Anywhere is open to carry unless posted. -
I did a local harvest type of thing a few years ago in East Nashville. It's a lot of hippes and liberal type folks, but they were generally nice enough and the vegetables were good. That said, there are other ways to go about it that work as well or better. Granted, I'm not doing it now because I'm a greenie, but because I'm thrifty. As an apartment dweller, I don't know how you'd fare with gardening, but I've had success with 5 gallon bucket gardens. Likewise, I doubt you could keep chickens without upsetting some folks. Meat is not that bad, though. It helps to have a big freezer. I usually try to buy direct from the farm. A friend and his dad kill some hogs about twice a year, I have 25 pounds of pork sausage in my freezer right now. Much higher quality than I could get at the store, and a lot cheaper. I haven't gone that route for beef yet, haven't really explored the options.

I've used a product called Kleen-Strip to refinish some stuff, it does a good job. I was going down to bare metal on some painted stuff though, so I don't know how it would affect a blued or parkerized surface. Depending on how thick the paint is, you might try a fine sandpaper or light wire brush.

I stumbled over a couple of boxes of .38 S&W ammo in a store sometime last year. The guy couldn't remember anyone ever asking for that caliber ammo, so he sold me both boxes for $8.00. I wound up giving them to a friend who collects antique guns, he had a WW 2 era revolver that would shoot it.
