  1. If you're attacked, just yell "My daddy is a Congressman!" really loud and the police will be there like that.
  2. It's a mechanical combination, but it appears the lock unit itself only attaches to the door with four screws. I would guess the electronic version attaches the same way, and mounts up to the linkage the same. I could be wrong, though.
  3. Yes, they do. I believe they can also be found at sporting good stores, and possibly Tractor Supply. The problem is, those safes have a cover panel over the inside of the door, and the stores probably wouldn't let me remove it just to see what parts I might need. If your point is that I do not have a high quality fire safe, you would be correct. However, I couldn't argue with the price (free), and I intend to fortify this unit quite a bit. I have a free cheap safe, I have a bunch of free scrap steel, and I know how to run a welder. I've thought about doing this exact thing for quite some time, but never did it because I didn't want to spend any money on a cheap safe, only to find myself destroying it if it didn't work out. Considering my cost basis this far into the project, I'm willing to give it a try.
  4. Hey all. I happened across a Sentry safe today. It needs some work. The interior is missing and the cover over the inside of the door is gone. I believe that there are some components or linkage pieces missing from the lock mechanism, but I haven't looked it over too closely yet. Are there any Sentry owners here that may have, or be willing to take, a picture of the lock mechanism of their door? I'd really appreciate it.
  5. Looks like Grandpa does some very good work! Very cool. Good job Dad.

The trigger would look better in a darker color, but I actually like it.
  8. Regardless of which one you go to, it will be worth the drive. I've bought from both of them, and have been treated very well. We'll be expecting pictures of the new gun once you get it.
  9. Hero Gear in Winchester or Guns and Leather in Greenbriar.
  10. Great pictures, have any others? Where is this cemetery located?
  11. I'm held up on the stamp. I'd still have to pay 200 bucks to the ATF for my free .22 suppressor, and I hate to do that only to buy a .223 suppressor and pay another 200 bucks not long after.
  12. I like what I do, and I like the company that pays me to do it. Kind of funny, I remember years ago I was working and saw a guy that did what I do now. I thought to myself "Wow, that looks pretty nice. I'd like to do that." Here I am years later, and I do that now. Good stuff.
  13. I would've gone for that if I'd known about it at the show. I was on the fence about buying a receiver, and decided to wait on their .223 suppressor instead of buying a .22 can. That would've made me do it. Heck, it still might...
  14. I live almost on the Kentucky state line, and I don't have a problem going down to Hero Gear. They're worth the drive. Then again, there are shops I'll drive right past on my lunch break and have no desire to step inside. Depends on the shop, and what I'm doing. Cash in hand, ready to buy is different than just looking around.
  15. If I had to guess, I'd think it was more closely related to this: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/tgo-forum-support/28352-aker.html
  16. Only if you plan to carry with an accessory mounted on your gun. I've heard of people carrying with weapon lights mounted, but that seems kind of pointless to me. I have only seen one or two holsters that will allow that, anyway.
  17. Rightwinger and I were talking about someone getting stuck by the parade when we drove through that morning. There were a handful of folks walking around with guns while we were there. I saw a couple of M1 Carbines, some milsurp bolt rifles (didn't look too closely), and a lever of some sort. I asked about one of the M1 Carbines, turned out to be a later Universal with a collapsible wire stock. I was impressed by the suppressor folks. If my Ruger was threaded, I would've bought one. The gentleman at their booth said they expect to release the .223 version sometime around the NRA show, I'm excited about it.
  18. Where was the SureFire rep at? I would've loved to have talked to him for a bit. I saw Beretta and C3, but I thought the booth on the back of the middle aisle was a S&W rep? I really enjoyed the C3 guy being there. I learned a bit from him, and would've bought a .22 can if I had a threaded gun. As it is, I'm now waiting for them to release their .223 suppressor.
  19. Rightwinger and I made the trip down this morning. It was a roughly 2 hour trip one way. Overall, I think it was worth it. I expected more vendors. However, it seemed like most of the vendors there were making deals. Hero Gear was offering up to $200.00 off brand new handguns, and the suppressor booth had .22 suppressors for $199.00. I liked the safe company being there also. There aren't many places that you can walk in and compare several different types of safe side by side, while discussing them with someone that's an expert on the subject. I would've loved for a holster company to have been there. I'm looking for an OWB holster for one of my guns, I probably would have brought one home (or at least ordered and paid for one) if I'd been able to find one. Likewise, I need a good case for my AR. The only case I recall seeing was either at or right beside the S&W booth. Overall, I enjoyed it. Met several TGO members, no jerky, no gutter guard, no vendors with blinking strobe lights on top of their booths and cheap, crappy flashlights. If y'all can pull off another show like this in a few months, I'd make the trip again. Most importantly, no HCP badges! Jcochran88 and I both did a double take at one vendor that had badges displayed, but upon further investigation found that they were not the elusive HCP badge. No wolf shirts, either.
  20. I hope you don't mean sell the powder? With the cases looking like that, I would be worried about the powder being contaminated somehow. Likewise, how could you positively ID the type of powder, short of getting the ammunition manufacturer to tell you?
  21. Well, I imagine a sitting ovation would be less impressive. Seasons in 325 here, split 'em with a friend.
  22. I'd go for an inexpensive red dot or a .22 kit.
  23. Wow. Heard about this on the radio today. Any news on the son?
